Hm... is an account truly dead if it hasn't been archived?

I think you mean a thread, but I think it should be. Its kind of pointless to raise an argument that no one even cares about anymore. Well, I did make you guys argue over Batroid, but that's not really the point.

Well, new members show up and they haven't gotten the chance to share their opinions. As long as they don't post disruptively, why not?

I really don't see the point of expressing your opinion on it though, if no one's going to care about it in a debate sense. Besides, this isn't the worst thread to revive. He also posted in an RP thread that the person who did it already left, along with posting in 2006 RP related topics that have no more relevance. This was the same problem with Yuki when she first joined. People post as if the information we posted back then involves the present. (Example: I said there was only one girl on the board and therefore only one person would probably want to take the girl roles for a Star Wars Movie RP. Then she said that she was also a girl.)
Well, that's my view of it, but fine, if you want to express your opinions on it, then go ahead. We barely ever archive anything here, except when we completely rehash the RP when people whine too much, or for something new. Oh, and when people request for it to be archived. My request though, is that people pay attention to where they post, making sure that the topic is no longer used for anything, such as an old character list.
Note: I have no hard feelings against you guys, don't worry. I'm just asking you to follow my request.

We barely ever archive anything here, except when we completely rehash the RP when people whine too much, or for something new. We have a massive archive board here called "The Vault" which would surely double this forum's post count had those threads been left open to the public. We archive things all the time here. As for threads such as this one, sending a mod around to arbitrarily archive threads like these would be pointless... not to mention that there's no rule against posting in older threads. In situations where a discussion truly has been closed and further posts are just creating spam then I'll just lock the topic when that comes up. As for this topic, I don't think a question like this can be settled nor has the debate been exhausted as long as their are new opinions to be expressed. So in that case, as you were people.

Erm, I kind of knew about the vault. But certainly we only archived things after we changed the board. At least to my memory... probably two or three times we completely restarted the galaxy? Besides, I knew that archiving this topic would be worthless, which I'm sure I pointed out. Oh, and I also let down my argument that this topic should not be posted in. I told people to go ahead and say their opinion. I really don't feel like you told me anything, but maybe I'll change my mind after reading.
Perhaps saying we "barely" archive things is perhaps an over exageration, but I still believe we don't do so too many times.

If I didn't really tell you anything it's probably because you didn't really say anything. You know that archiving this topic would be worthless, you know that people should still be allowed to express their opinions here, you know that we archive massive amounts of posts... so one is left to wonder... why exactly was the first statement even made?
It's ok though, don't sweat it Nergs. I think we should probably get back on topic anyway.

I think I kind of changed my mind in the middle. Instead, I feel now that the thing is that people should look more into how old topics are and make sure that they aren't completely outdated. I would have posted this in the Character List if it was the first thing I caught sight of. Anyways, that's the end of it, I suppose.
Back to the topic, my opinion still stands... whatever it was...
