Yes this is a philosophical question before anyone asks. Why? Because they rule over many peoples lives XD anyways. Which side are you people on? I'm officially with call of duty.

Same here. I'm a CoD man. I used to loathe CoD and would play Halo over it any day. But I gradually came to see that CoD is just a more engaging game experience all around. Not to mention that it is realistic (i.e. - I'm not moving like I'm all hopped up on meth. Aiming with a rifle is actually possible. lol).

Well lets see I honestly prefer Halo, why you ask? Cause Call of Duty is too realistic, when I play a game I honestly don't look for realism I get that shit enough from real life. Its the same reason I'd take Saints Row 2 over Grand Theft Auto 4. Now with that said if I'd have to pick any FPS right now as my favorite its Borderlands just because its different and well its original (lets be honest Halo 1,2,3, ODST, Call of Duty 1,2,3,4,5 4-2) all play damn near identical to their predessors.

I don't get what you guys are talking about. Call of Duty is far from being realistic. lol hoppy bunnies, dual silenced shotties, etc... yeah right.
Anyways, the two games are quite different from one another imo. Still, I'll just choose... CoD. At least when I had my damn dedicated servers lol.

Halo.... is set in the future? How the hell can you expect it to be realistic?
If I wear power armor and you shoot me with a bunch of bullets lets see how long it takes to get through that thick plate armor most likely made out of a material like that of Tank Material(can't remember what it's called right now). Regaurdless, if you play Halo without shields you'll find it takes just about as many shots in COD as it does halo if not less.
No shield in Halo + sniper = instant death, and never no maybes that i've seen. In Cod i've survived plenty of sniper shots(without juggernaut).
In regaurds to game play, CoD is an interesting game play.
However drake i'd disagree on the gameplay between the Halo's.... They change what you can and can't do in the games which disappoints me a bit. I like the original the best still. Pistol in the first is the ultimate of them all. in the second you could dual weild Needlers now you can't. The actual jump and moving feels different from game to game. It's generally the same controls and same guns however not the same, the difficulties between them are different as well. XD
I remember pumping 4 rockets into a golden elite and it not dying. XD the good ol days. XD

No shield in Halo + sniper = instant death, and never no maybes that i've seen. In Cod i've survived plenty of sniper shots(without juggernaut). I've never had that "maybe" problem in CoD with my sniper shots. Every hit is a kill for me. The only time I manage to survive a kill shot from a sniper is when he's trying to shoot through something to get me. Besides, MW 2 has all but remedied the "maybe" problem with sniper rifles. One shot, one kill, no stopping power perk required to make sure the job is done the first time. The guns in MW 2 seem more respective to their real world counterparts. A Barret .50 cal is no longer stopped by a cement wall or the hull of a chopper like it was in CoD 4. The RPD has a much more substantial rise to it when fired on fully automatic compared to the one from MW 1. All together, MW 2 rounded out the weapons to make them much more realistic, in my opinion. And that translates directly to better game play with fewer issues, at least this is what I have discovered. About the only thing I'm finding weird about MW 2 is how insanely easy it is to get a head shot with any gun at almost any distance. I've managed one shot kills with the .44 Magnum in the Favela level from damn near half way across the map. Eh, to each their own. I just enjoy the pace of MW more than Halo. Halo moves way too fast for me, whereas MW moves at just the right pace. Oh, and I think it is Chabum (sp?) armor you are thinking of, Zilfer.

Donno, anyways, there's a trick with a sniper rilfe that you can spin around in the air and fire your gun and you'll always get a head shot if you can do it right. No scope on a sniper rifle.
There have been plenty of times in CoD where I haven't died to a sniper shot, i've been at a red screen but not dead. XD
Personally gamov i would have said the opposite. CoD is fast paced and Halo can be rather slow. If you don't react right that instant in CoD your dead. XD

Call of Duty is definately better. You see, the makers of CoD take the time to make the game while the makers of Halo just rush into different games, like Halo Wars, Odst, and now Waypoint? Damn.

I play both but my reasons for liking COD better is because i like the modern feel of the game (Hence the name modern warfare lol) and how much faster the pace is. I agree with Zil on that one lol. There is one game that just as fast paced on halo and that's swat.. Which is the only playlist I play in when I play live on Halo lol. And not only do I like the game play of COD better but the players are a lot easier to get along with. Halo players get a little to serious for me. It's annoying lol. I play a game to have fun and relieve stress not to gain more by yelling at someone for every mistake they make lol. Also I don't see as much immaturity in COD. There's a lot of immature little kids that play halo on live. There's a lot of trash talk and people blaming people for stupid things in the match like modding and lag glitching (It's been a while I think that's the term, if not you know what I mean lol. ) when it's probably that persons connection or their sucking so bad that they blame it on modding lol. And I got kind of mad at Bungie when they set up almost all the playlists to where you HAVE to buy ODST to play live anymore. They took Swat from me lol.

Eh, the maturity level of gamers you interact with on any game is going to fluctuate. I've played games of Halo, CoD and L4D and have run into my fair share of annoying 10yr olds and whiners who accuse everyone of running lag switches because they finished at the bottom of the board. lol
However, that being said, Halo seems to be a more highly regimented game with a more serious fan base compared to CoD. Not saying CoD is devoid of stuck up pricks, there just seem to be fewer of them from my experience playing it (and I've logged a ton of hours on CoD 4, WaW and MW 2. lol). I will say, though, that CoD clans seem to be much more experienced, practically light years ahead of everyone else. I've had plenty of otherwise fun/interesting matches ruined when a clan suddenly jumps into the lobby on a party and proceeds to pwn everyone that isn't them.

Okay first I'll say this Zilf you make a good point but ODST does bring back the pistols from the first one. Trust me shooting a grunt from 40 yards out in the head with the pistol is hilarious. Secondly even with shields in Halo a well placed sniper round to the head kills Spartans and Elites instantly, (Trust me I know ask Mik). Thirdly Brui what you said makes no sense honestly. Halo has had 1 developer Bungie, Call of Duty altanates between EA and Activition. This gives them way more time and resources to make what you guys would claim to be a "Better game" honestly though like I said neither one of the two franchises are my favorites.
Both are seriously over rated I have Halo ODST and I have Modern Warfare 2 rented sitting in next to my xbox as well, I've played both games online and frankly after about 4 matches they bore the living hell out of me. Both of them have really short campaign modes and the only reason I pick Halo over COD is cause Halo lets you take 3 of your friends and play online with you from the same TV while COD does not. Makes for a very lonely party situation when you have to take turns playing Multiplayer.
There I'm done with my rant, and fuck what anyone says Game of Year is Borderlands.
