Tina looked up at the iron rod half wonder half worry filling her face, She'd never been one much for hand-to-hand combat of any kind due to her small frame. Dropping the concern she lifted the rod and attempted to take up the designated stance. It looked basically like it, Though he legs were a little to short in terms of distance from the other and the rod was slightly lower then it needed be. She clearly wasn't sure of what she was doing just by the look on her face, Pure confusion.

Shadow sat straight as he heard Oron start talking again, He was a little confused when he was told what he saw was in his past, but listened none the less, and when Oron used the force to put the bar in front of him, he tentivelly reached out to grasp it. He stood up, holding the bar lightly in his left hand, as he watched how oron stood, and the positioning of the saber. He quietly started to mimik it, as he grabbed the bar as he would a sword, before sliding his left foot forward, his right foot back. He looked forward, to oron, as he stood there.

Oron smiled as he looked at the two young students. "Tina, one must let go of their fear. Size matters not, only the strength of your mind will help you overcome your fear of everything. The only thing we all have to fear, is fear itself." Oron held out his lightsaber in between Tina and Shadow. "You and your lightsaber are one. In battle, you are one, you will overcome your enemy, you will fight for the light." Oron deactivated his lightsaber and put it back into his holster.
"Show me what you two got. No severe strikes on each other, just simple strides in your motions. Begin."

As a slow hum of doubt escaped her mouth Tina, Trying to hold a positive attitude looked at the rod with a new determination an replied with a sharp. "Alright." She spun the rod once in her left hand, A bit heavier then the training swords she had used during her brief tutorship years ago, That was when she realized she had no taste for close quarters combat. But if what Oron said held truth that shouldn't matter, She hoped.
Taking a couple of step away from Shadow Tina lifted the rod in what she hoped to be a rather decent defensive position having learned that a good defense made a great offense.

Shadow sighed, as he stood back, and watched tina back away from him. He turned to face her, before smirking, and lunging forward a few steps, his trailing foot launching him forward, the rod held close, in a plain rush. He held barelly any force in the attack, and barelly any speed behind it either. As he would make it to Tina, he quickly cut left, his make shift sword trailing the other way.

Tina taken off guard by the sudden moment jumped back as Shadow made his turn, Any attempted attack might have been short due to the, However accidental, Counter maneuver. Tina shot he rod left after the realization sunk in. While most people would be put into a weakened state by jabbing out left, Tina who was left handed only felt it natural. Weather the quick jab would connect had to be seen.

Shadow smirked, as Tina retreated, and swung at him, before side stepping the blow, pulling his pole up close to himself, in the way of tina's counter, and flicking his wrist, sending his pole, and in result, her parried pole, down, and around, to be thrown to the side. He continued, by stepping, this time to the right, and bringing the pole up towards Tina's kneck, with no force behind it, his hands towards his rightside of his body.

As the rod was thrown outward to her left Tina could swear she felt Shadows indention. Following the instinct she ducked even before he finished the inward advancement into a roll which would result in her appearing behind him at which point she swung center body with her rod the angle would be difficult to jump over, Or as she did duck under. And with luck would score a hit.

Shadow was surprised to say the least, at Tina's quick reaction to his attack, and so, as she rolled by him, he turned to face her. As she swung at him, he quickly drew back the pole into a position to parry the blow down and away from himself, but didn't move to follow up on the attack. Instead, he backed up, the pole in his hands, and facing tina

Tina hold off on any small celebration that the early victory may have granted. To repel an opponent only caused the engagement to continue until one of them were to warn to finish the fight. She sprang forward a obvious jab directed at his chest. That wasn't the attack but instead a move meant to be avoided as most would be unsuspecting of the follow up attack, That being a low leg sweep which if all went according to the the tactics she had been instructed in years before.

As tina lunged, Roland quickly reacted, as best he could muster, bringing his pole across his chest in an angled slash, that would knock her blade away from him again. He foolowed up, by stepping in behind the blows, and ducking down, to move benieth her reach, and backpeddling away from her again.

As Shadow retreated backwards and out of range for the swipe kick Tine had a sudden burst of inspiration for her next attack. Building off the momentum she brought her rod across her right arm still holding it with her left and quickly directed it forward launching it from her had as a forward flying projectile. Taking advantage of the distraction Shadow would surely fall for, And the fact that if it made a clear hit she would need to be in position to capitalize, Tina burst after the rod diving lot in a baseball slide like move in a second attempt to take the feet from under him.

Shadow was not expecting her to throw her weapon, and reacted as best he could, by shifting his body out of its trajectory. However, as he did this, Tina went for an offensive that she seemed to be favoring, and so, as she connected with her foot to take his feet out from under him, shadow kicked the foot backwards, to look like it worked, while dropping the pole, keeping his other foot on the ground, and leaning forward, before grabbing tina by the arm, with his hands. He quickly shot the foot back down, picking himself and tina up, and was about to complete the move, by throwing her, but decided against it. Instead he twisted the arm to be behind her back, or turning her away from him, and giving her a little push away from him, not enough to knock her down again, but enough to get her away from him. He smirked as he finished up, having fun in this one.

Tina s taken off guard by Shadow's choice of counter actions. He seemed to be going easy on her and she did not like being treated as a child with the baby gloves. After being released from his grasp, and a clear chance to declare his victory. Tina stopped her advancements turning to Oron stated aloud. "I believe, Shadow as won this duel, I'm rather convinced he could have finished it with the last counter and is only going easy on me." She looked over at him to see if his facial expression betray any truth to the words.

Shadow stepped back, clasping his hands behind his head, and crossing one foot before the other. We were told to not throw true punches, so i held them. He said calmly, before turning, to pick up the two poles, the one at his feet, and the one that had chinged off a wall a short distance away, before leaning them against the wall again. Would you like a rematch, then?
