He knew the empire was heartless, but not like this. As Draiden listened intently to his holodroid's image of Revan, master of both the Jedi and Sith Skills, his heart cringed as he learned that the empire's imperial base on Kuat was taking resources from the civilians that needed them to create their defensive weaponry.
After learning that it was not the whole base, but a select few in charge, Draiden was finally able to begin his mission.
He would assassinate LT. Maverick Henigg and his three subordinates, and leave unnoticed. It was his first assignment in the guild of GenoHaradan, and he WOULD succeed. He had to.
When the transmission ended, the holodroid R.E.X. quivered from the use, but then asked, "Have any questions for me, Master?" Draiden grabbed his E-11 Blaster rifle and vibrodagger, holstering the gun and admiring the blade. "Nope," he replied, and walking out he mumbled, "this better be worth the credits."
As he left his ship and headed south towards the base.....

Sael walked down the a narrow street, hands behind his head, thinking on what he should have for a meal. He had lost his rides, when the fleet following roland had disapeared, leaving him in a tartan class, that later left him here. He had enough credits to keep a solid home, and some decent food, but was getting bored of the routine. He reached his left arm back, a tad bit more, and scratched the head of Senton, the Ysalamiri that he always carried with him, and was rewarded with a narrow growling sound from the lizard. He noted, as he walked by, a small group of soldiers, probably from the nearby base, at one stop, and stopped by to see what they were talking about, and after a few seconds, realized it was about pazaak, and drinks, but nothing else. Sael laughed aloud, knowing he wouldn't get much of the galactic going ons, with these simpletons, and continued to walk on.

His footsteps were anonymous among the busy people nearby. He quickly but quietly made his way down the narrow streets, heading towards the other side of the city where the imperial base was located. As Draiden came around the next corner, he noticed a group of three imperial soldiers patrolling the area. While he was not yet a target, he knew his actions to come would brand him one, and knowing this he quickly turned and found another route. Rounding the next corner blindly, his collision with the other person was to be expected. “Damn this place, people everywhere!” he groaned regaining his composure. “You’re telling me, you never know who you’ll run into anymore!” the stranger complained as he found his feet back beneath him and looked back to make sure his Ysalamiri was alright. “Quite a lizard you got there,” Draiden commented, trying to make small talk out of the awkward run-in that just occurred. “Yea, he’s good company.” The man said petting the beast. “I’m Draiden, by the way, Draiden Duminish.” “Sael Taul, pleased to meet you.” “Well I better get moving before those soldiers show up to investigate the noise.” “Hell, with drinks and pazaak on their minds, I doubt they are paying any attention, I saw them earlier patrolling.” “Yea, anyways, sorry about knocking you down, I’ll keep my head up next time.” Draiden said as he darted off down the street before any of the guard from before had heard the commotion. Listening in on those guards back there, hmm…He probably knows a little about the imperial base that’ll help get me in, he seemed quite observant Draiden thought as he hurried towards the base, making up for lost time. He knew Henigg would be there. He just needed a moment where the lieutenant was alone. Just one minute was all he would need...

Saul continued walking after the run in with the other man, and smirked, hoping the man hadn't found the tracking chip he had slipped him. He hadn't been known to speak up very often, but that seemed to be about to change. He was a block away, before slipping into the oposite walking crowds to trail of Draiden. As he made it near the street Draiden had taken off down, he checked a wrist communicator he carried, that pointed him in the direction he needed to go. The guy was in a rush... lets find out why... He chuckled to himself.

The base was in sight. he had two choices of entry; time the patrols of the two groups of four soldiers just right and sneak in through the front, or find a ventilation duct and do some crawling. After sneaking about for some 20 minutes from about 150 yards away, he spotted one such duct that seemed just big enough for one man to squeeze through. It was located just around the eastern side of the main complex, and only one guard was seen nearby. Dispatch or discretion, again the choice was to be made. There were nearly 40 shipping crates stacked in rows of four around the eastern side, most likely the defensive weaponry taken from the citizens nearby. Draiden hid behind one, vibrodagger in hand. Just in case he thought, and slowly made his way, back against the containers, toward the vent. After seeing that he could not quietly get the container removed without alerting the guard, Draiden waited until the soldier came back his way. Now with the guard just feet away, Draiden, crouched low and rolled into the soldier. Just before any sound escaped from his mouth, he looked down to see a vibrodagger's hilt protruding from his upper left chest. With one twist, the dagger was removed and Draiden hastened to his feet. After pulling the body into the container nearest him, he headed towards the vent to begin removing it. With little effort, the cover was off and he was scrambling inside, making sure to replace the cover behind him. He was so close, it wouldn't be long now...

Sael, who had trailed Draiden this far laughed aloud, as he watched the man dispatch a gaurd. Sael quietly stepped back to the shadows, as the man infiltrated via a vent, and was tempted to follow him, but not through the vents. He quietly walked up behind him, and snagged the dead mans i.d. chip, and slipped it into his wrist computer, that quickly spit it out, with a different name, and his picture on it. So uncivilized.... He said with a smirk, as he moved to the main enterence, and simply walked in, flashing the i.d. to the gaurds, as he moved. At a cursory glance, most people were easily fooled by it, but if he had to put it to the test, it might not be so easily taken...

Draiden made his way through the ventilation, on hands and knees, and being as quiet as humanly possible. He darted left and right, the narrow tunnel winding in a maze of confusion. Every now and then, there would be an exit grate, and Draiden would look out into the room to see somewhat where he was. Damn this mandalorian armor, its far too loud to be sneaking around in here. I've got to find something lighter to wear Draiden thought regrettably as he peered down into what looked like the barracks area of the imperial soldiers. Hmm...odd, nobody's in here. They must be out on patrol, it is just a little after noon. He slid off the grate and lowered halfway down upside down to get a better look. Aha! There's their lockers, there must be civilian clothes in there, something lighter than this armor given by the guild. Draiden grabbed the ledge and swung his legs over his head to land squarely below him. He then darted across to where the lockers were and began searching. The only things that looked like they would fit him were a brown ribbed jacket, some black relaxed fit leather pants, and a pair of soft satin boots. He grabbed one white undershirt and a brown belt so he could still holster his vibrodagger. Draiden took the strap from his mandalorian armor so he could sling his rifle once again around his back. Feeling he had spent too much time changing attire, he quickly stuffed his previous armor in the locker and bolted back across the room towards the vent. as he made his way up he heard footsteps coming towards the door. He had just replaced the grate when the door swung open.

Sael passed through a few security checkpoints, unassailed, following the directions given to him by his wrist com. He was finding the area familiar with some other imperial bases, and decided, the imperials needed a new decorator... He sighed, as he showed the I.D. to the newest gaurds, one of which took a wierd look to him, as Sael walked on. Normally, nobody would mind a man walking in in civies, and heading to the barracks, but Sael figured it might have to do with the shift already begining, and this man being more attentive than the rest. Sael continued walking, and the man fell into step, a distance behind him, while saying to his companion, I'll be back. Gonna check something... Sael rolled his eyes, catching the comment, but continued walking, letting his vibro-dagger drop a few inches, to be cought hidden behind his fingers, but enough to drop the final distance in his hands in seconds. Sael took a moment as he passed by the barracks, smirking to himself, as the signal was close, and got fainter, but didn't stop as he noticed the soldier behind him. He turned a corner instead, and once around the corner, turned around, and put his back to the wall. A glance to the sides revealed nobody around, and so he dropped the dagger the rest of the way,and cought the grip, the blade pointing behind him, and waited. As the gaurd turned the corner, Sael reacted instantly, bringing the blade up, and across the mans kneck, slitting it cleanly, befoer bringing it back around, and slamming it to the hilt into the mans side, right below the armpit. As the man started to fall, Sael cought him, and started dragging him towards the Barracks, and opened the door, as he entered. Come out, come out, wherever you aaare.... He called lightly so that anyone in the room would hear him, but those outside would not, as he dragged the body towards one of the lockers, that was open, and started shoving it inside, while taking the soldiers I.D. chip, again.

Come out, come out, wherever you aaare.... Draiden heard as he tried to slow his breathing so he wouldn't be discovered. His back was against the wall of the ventilation, and he was just to the side of the opening so he wouldn't be seen. When he figured the coast was clear, he quietly shimmied through in the same direction he was before. Good choice switching clothes he thought, and it was; no more did he clank around the metallic walls, and he noticed it was much easier to move around, he felt so much lighter and faster than before. At last the ventilation came to another exit and as he peered down, his vision caught a tall man about 6'1" in uniform with the double silver bars on his collar. There he is, the man of the hour. Maverick was back in his chair, yelling at somebody over his communicator. Something about missing rounds on patrol and some of the supplies gone missing from the shipyards. Draiden waited until he was the Lieutenant was silent to make his move, and in the meantime would plan his silent assault. After several minutes of waiting and the Lieutenant yelling over the communicator, he finally found his moment to strike. Just as he was about to open the ventilation grate....

ooc: tired, can't sleep, and getting creative. Sorry for the long post. bic:Sael looked down on his wrist com, and saw the dot that represented his tracer moving away, and into the complex further. He sighed, as he turned stripped the dead man of his armor, and put it on himself, over his clothing, before moving to leave the barracks all together, and moving towards where imperial armories were generally located. He had a plan, and it would get messy, He decided to himself. The armory was a short walk away, an oposite wing as He had been, and as he made it there, there were only a few soldiers wandering around, one checking out weapons and municians, and 2 or 3 fiddling with their sights, and popping off a few shots at targets down a range. Sael nodded towards the man fixing his sights, as he walked towards the man at the counter, and said, I need a Verpine shatter rifle, if you have one, and a BTC-30 slugthrower. He said, the man giving him a strange look, at the wierd request, for projectile weapons, but didn't complain, as he grabbed the 2 rifles from the wall, and bringing them forward. You have Authorization to use these? The man said, not putting the rifles down on the doorway yet, for Sael to pick up. I have my authorization, right here... Sael said, as he quickly pulled a blaster, and put 3 rounds into the man, before turning, and firing on the others in the room, what with the firing range being in the same room, it wouldn't be taken as strange, and quietly turned, and reaching through the holes in the cage, and opening up to doorway, before walking in, and collecting the 2 guns, and a couple satchels of explosives, 2 of which he armed in the armory itself, a bandoleer of mixed luma grenades, concussion grenades, adhesive grenades, and a handfull of thermal detonators, and an ammo pack, before moving down the hall, his 2 weapons strapped to his back, right below the ysalamiri pack and the satchels over his shoulders. He found a few closed rooms, and vent shafts to place the explosives on that side of the complex, not running into many people in the process, and armed the high grade explosives. His last 2 packs, he saved, as he entered the communications room, and walked around, as if doing an inspection for a superior officer, planting the explosives without being noticed in his borrowed uniform, before leaving the section of the base, and moving back towards the baracks. Oly Oly Oxen free! He said to himself, as he pushed the detonators trigger, setting off the fireworks that would the far side of the facility, and give this side, where Draiden and himself was, quite a bit of a shake, if not knock them on their ass's. It would also, ironically, distract everyone so draiden could finish his business, and sneak out, either through the vents, or through the front door.

So close to his objective, Draiden slid off the cover to the vent and began to make his way down into the room. He was hanging by one hand from the vent when the explosion went off. Draiden fell, the vents and the walls crumbling around him. Dust filled the air, and the through the debris he could see the Maverick pinned down by some of the rubble. Draiden stumbled to his feet and made his way over to him. Maverick, seeing Draiden coming, tried even harder to lift the debris off of him. They'll know it was you, they'll see the signs of murder and trace it to you! Draiden peered out of the window that Maverick was gazing through. The base sat at level ground around the front and both sides, but cliffs and rockfaces engulfed the entire southern side of the complex, which is where the giant window looked out over. Not if it looks like an accident. Draiden thrust his rifle butt into the Maverick's face, rendering him unconscious. After pushing the debris off of him, Draiden drug him over towards the window. One shot through the window shattered it, and one good heave and throw was all it took. Draiden hardly remained motionless after that, knowing that he didn't have much time after that explosion. Who or what could have caused that? he wondered as he made his way through the mess and over to the door, knowing that the vents would be far too destroyed to return to. It was timed so well, as if somebody knew my plans. As much as I'm grateful for coincidence, I cannot help but feel perturbed about somebody watching my movements. I will have to be more careful in the future. Draiden made his way through the complex and towards the main door. He was almost out, just a little further...

Sael calmly walked down the hallway towards the main door, a smirk on his face, as troopers ran back and forth throughout the compound. The empire would get a wakeup call, to see the least, if their facilities could be so easily infiltrated. He had almost forgotten about Draiden, when his wrist com went off, and he looked down, the arrow steadily gaining on him, symbolizing the man. He quietly leaned back on the wall, crossing his legs low, and sat there, watching out towards the door, at an intersection that met the main hallway, and crossed his arms across his chest, and waited. As Draiden went to pass by him, he whistled, and said, Your a tad bit predictable there boyo. Might i suggest next time, a little boom goes a long way. With a laugh, as he fell into step behind the man, heading towards the exit.

Together, Draiden and Sael made their way out of the complex and out of sight of any of the imperial guards. After gaining some hundred yards from the base, they stopped reassess. Well for one, I don't have explosives handy to be throwing around, and two, that mission was supposed to be covert, leaving no evidence other than the appearance of an "accident";and anyways, how the hell did you know I was at the base?!

Sael laughed, as Draiden started talking, and said, When you bumped into me, you were the first one acting suspicios, i have seen all day, so i slipped a transmitter into your armor, set to give off a signal, my instraments were tuned to. He shrugged, as he looked around, and added, Terrorist act over covert any day, in my book. Was dropped off here to take a judge of the bases security anyways, so being able to stick it to them helps alot. Sael said with a smirk, before flashing a small symbol on the inside of his origional clothes, a mythosaur skull, and symbol of the mandalorians.

Ahh, a mandalorian, so you must be on the fence on whether you'd side with the republic or the empire. From your choice in "help" back there, I'd say you hate the empire and are more inclined to help the republic. After a few moments of silence, Draiden continued, Whatever your choice may be, you chose to help me back there, and it's much appreciated. I also have issues with the empire. I must get back to my ship, however I see myself working with you in the future, or would like to. If you let me copy your ID, I can have my protodroid scan it and keep in touch with you that way.
