I have one question: Why are the ships there if it would take 750 post to buy the lowest priced ship? Even Zilfer and Cain can't afford most ships. Sorry if this seems like whining...

I have one question: Why are the ships there if it would take 750 post to buy the lowest priced ship? Even Zilfer and Cain can't afford most ships. Sorry if this seems like whining... because long ago, in an RP system that i dare say was infinitly better then this one we had a D&D like stat system along with a full blown economic system where your characters could purchase ships, weapons, troops, conquer planets and earn income from your conquered planets or do mercenary missions to earn credits. The problem was that the ships were so incredibly cheap that it didn't take very long for a new person to build up a huge fleet of warships. And it also meant that people rarely ever used their ships for fear of losing them and wasting all the credits they spend on them. So the solution was made to make the ships so expensive that it would be nearly impossible to build a fleet of ships without two or more players working together to by ships, or for one person to have control of several key planets to to give him enough credits to buy the ships to protect his planets. The shipyard is an extension of this old system that we tried and failed to carry over to this new system. I wouldn't worry about it that much.

How do we travel to other planets without ships? Also, it would take a whole lot of people with a whole lot of post to get a few ships... Zilfer could only buy nine sith fighters? It would take several people with 1 million credits each to buy an average ship... Although I am wondering how the Republic Navy has any ships at all if they are so expensive and no one has the credits... well, if that is the way it is intended I guess it doesn't matter. Why are there no ways of earning money except the slow income from posting?

naw man, you can have a ship if you want. Like i said the shipyard is only a remnant of this old system. I have the Memory of Corellia, and i never paid a dime for it. I also have the RNS Galactica and RNSX Lysander for my character Captain Walton which i also never paid a dime for.
Now this isn't a totally free system. if you want to have a ship you need a good explanation as to how you got it. and if you have something like a Capitol Ship you need a good explanation as to where the crew gets their food from, where you get fuel, gas for the turbolasers and other supplies.
Basically you can have any ship you want as long as
A: It fits your character's ability to keep and maintain the ship. B: It makes sense that you have it.

One more question. Does a ship's 'compliment' refer to what it can hold or does the compliment come with the ship when purchased?

Well, back when we had the stat RP buying a ship such as a Star Destroyer came with all the crew, fuel, and such that you would need. When we go back to that I would think it would be that way again, but for right now not so much. I hope that answers your question, I'm not sure where you see the word 'compliment' used though.

1. There are no more shops and the Shipyards are in the BHOD RP board.
2. I am not the original admin of this site, the other account is my first one.

Question: In the tier chart, those with under 200 post cannot make a force user. Can an RP character be trained to use the force before 200 post?
