We did not throw a shit fit because you called it god modding we threw a fit because you took almost a month to post your retaliation and we were not allowed to post until you did. You should probably consult with Zilfer about that. And I never said that Zilfer doesn't god mod, what I was saying is you do it too. Never said I didn't. I'm not sure if I have god modded, but I'm sure that someone like Mik may call me still using the earth force form, god modding, even though i was told by Zilfer that you said I could, and I only continued using it when i got the okay. That was fine. That's not what is in question here. The kind of god modding being questioned here... well you sum it up nicely in your next quote. Anyways idk about the right to defend rule, that doesn't bother me too much except it basically takes away a persons right to, well defend against an attack. I'm sure this rule is about how if someone says they HIT you with a force push, that now you cannot say that you dodged it or tried to dodge it. Well the way you're supposed to do it is you don't just post that you HIT another person's character. Posting that you hit someone is controlling their character. That's the kind of god modding at question here. Instead you should post simply that you use Force Push. Not that you use Force Push and it hits. I hope that makes sense, if not let me know and I'll try and explain it better. Forgive me, its late. xD

I have another question then, this time it is about God modding. Now, I've fought most of the people in this thread atleast once, whether its during the story, a tournament, practice fight or hell on a different site entirely and I've never had an issue with someone saying that their attack HIT me. They might say what the attack would do or what should happen if I didn't respond to it, but never just it blantly hit me.
That aside how would the new system prevent people from doing that anyway. If someone is going to post that their attack hit you they're going to say it whether there's a right to defend rule or not. Isn't this more of a writing issue than an actual rule issue?
Just a question.

Well you have been a lucky man indeed, Drake. But to answer your question, if someone does that to you it has been stated here and now that it is clearly against the rules. You tell them so and they repost. If they dont want to you tell an admin.

Whats your definition of being chewed out? He explained himself and his side, last I checked that he wasn't being rude or hostile in anyway. If he was ignoring you, he wouldn't have acknowledged your feelings either. If anyone is going to be rude or hostile on this site its going to be this guy. *points to self.* But i don't think anyone here is disagreeing that a slight change to the rules, and some actual admin enforcement is a bad thing. I do not appose the move to the new site or the modifications to the rules we have in place. I believe the thing most people (including myself) are disagreeing with is the new stat system. If i'm wrong and yall hate the new rule changes, please correct me. But i think, for now at least. we should stick with the rule change, concentrate on moving to the new site and keep the current stat system in place. If an overabundance of issues arise, then we can address overhauling the whole stat system then. One thing at a time people. slight changes to the rules first. game braking overhauls to the site after we can see if the amended rules make things better or worse.

I have stayed back, and depending on the answer for this question, will cast my vote in later. First, yuki, the right to defend rule is what gave him the month he didn't post, thus it beiing gone wouldn't be a bad thing. posts go faster, rather than people waiting. And now to the question. Why not, instead of throwing out the system we have, and jumping to this new system, we have a trial phase.1 month of people rping on the new site, while this one is held as is. If people don't like it after a testing phase of rping, than we go back, and the new form can be remade. This will give people a new perspective, rather than saying, i don't like it cause its change, and being done, or people joining on it, and finding they don't like it, but hey, only choice now is to leave, or get over it. I recognize the style, as one from gothic, a game that zil and I have both played, and it seemed to be fun, rather than leveling, having to increase yourself in your strengths, and having weaknesses, as long as you don't go overboard.*in gothic, it was marvin mode, eh zil?* Anyways, i have no fear in the new system, however, i don't want to go headfirst into it without seeing how it would work first. In either way, i'll probably move the profile over there, back here if we go back, minus the new stat stuff.

Also Cain then what do you mean by right to defend exactly, if it isn't defending against someone landing a hit on you. Because if it is like what elifain said, where the right to defend is what you did, which was to help you prevent against our "god modding" wouldn't you want to keep it since it Prevents god modding technically? I mean yes it would have been nice to go on without Cain defending himself, but isn't it rude to say "I killed your ship, ha ha, and the rules say you cant do anything about it!" lol

Most people? Who are these most people who are against the stats? You and Yuki? If i'm wrong and yall hate the new rule changes, please correct me. But i think, for now at least. we should stick with the rule change, concentrate on moving to the new site and keep the current stat system in place. One thing at a time people. slight changes to the rules first. game braking overhauls to the site after we can see if the amended rules make things better or worse. Are you sure the change you really have an issue with isn't the bio's? Cause even if we were to keep the old stats we could and probably would still keep the rules about the bios. I have stayed back, and depending on the answer for this question, will cast my vote in later. First, yuki, the right to defend rule is what gave him the month he didn't post, thus it beiing gone wouldn't be a bad thing. posts go faster, rather than people waiting. In either way, i'll probably move the profile over there, back here if we go back, minus the new stat stuff. Nothing is happening to this place, it will still be here. So if we decide that the new system is crap after trying it there'd be nothing stopping us from coming back over here. I second mik's motion!!! I mean yes it would have been nice to go on without Cain defending himself, but isn't it rude to say "I killed your ship, ha ha, and the rules say you cant do anything about it!" lol Well as I said above, the right to defend rule was what gave Zilfer the right to make that post in the first place. Without it he never makes that post and there isn't any need for anyone to have to defend. Now to the second part of your question I'll try and make this very clear. Saying "I killed your ship, ha ha," IS GOD MODDING. You can't do that to begin with. If your not allowed to do it to begin with, there's no need to worry about defending against it. Also yes, I'm sure it would have been very nice for you to go on without me ever defending myself.

I'm sorta against the new stats too, rather I would like to keep the stats the way they are, but if we change we change and I know there isn't much I can do to stop that short of throwing a hissy fit and quitting the site. >.>

Well let's open up the floor here and help clear some stuff up. If there are people like Drake, mik and yuki who are not loving the new stats let me know what it is about them that you don't like.

It's not that I am opposed to the change, its just that we have seen so many change on this site. I don't think we have even stuck to a new system longer than a year.

The last system we had for almost a year and three months. The old stat system was around a year and a half. I don't recall when that one started exactly though.

I am with mik except the part where he said they didn't last over a year. But mostly it's not to much that I hate the new stat system but that I just got used to this one and have grown to like it after I had to grow up from a little wee noob again, and I just don't want the stat system changed again because I don't want to have to get used to another one just to have you change it yet again.

got a question for you though Cain since your not on AIM right now. What stops force users from putting their speed, strength, and reflexes with the force anyways? They still can supersede the limitations of normal human beings, meaning what you claimed to be the whole reason for doing this, (Elifain arguement showing you agility and strength could easily be countered with the force for everything) has not in fact been solved. Curiously in my mind, making stats less important only makes it easier for the force users to over power those without the force. Or someone more physically oriented. I'm not against the change in the rules however.

A good question zilfer. The Force can be used to supersede limitations, thats the nature of the Force. However, now the Force is not all lumped into one ambiguous stat. You need good Sense to highten your reflexes. Body to heighten your strength, channel to use it for defense and so on. Unless you have amazing stats in all aspects of the Force it can no longer be a cure all. Everyone should have a weakness somewhere.
And I understand your concern Yuki. I really did not want to have to touch the stats for exactly the reason you stated. But honestly, do you keep something that would slowly grow worse over time or do you try and fix it? I know I can't make the system "Perfect", but I can do my best to make it better.
