During the afternoons, after Zilfer's training, Alex found himself working with a legend in the flesh... even if she couldn't remember that she was.
"Irihi Na'omi," Alex said as he stood in front of her, "I must say it is quite an honor. It's kind of strange to think I'll be teaching the master her own techniques... *ahem* But yes, of the seven Mitsukai force forms, yours was the Light element," Alex explained, suddenly with a serious look on his face, "Before you can use your element in combat, first you must understand it. So here's a little pop quiz... what exactly is light?"

The ancient being stood before him with the grace and appearnace of a youngwoman upon her, the only indicator of her true age to her was her wings. Great, flowing white wings, mostly unmarked but for a lage area of scar tissue in part of one wing, wings that twitched nervously at the moment as Alex spoke to her. "Irihi Na'omi." she echoed.
"How can you be so sure I'm her...?" Na'omi asked quietly as he spoke about teaching her the techniques of Irihi Na'omi, or has he had stated, the strange shadow of her past that she couldn't seem to remember.
"Light... its energy. Energy only visible, and its like... the sun..." she said feeling rather dumb at the moment.

"Hehe," Alex chuckled, "Well let's just say I'll be able to make sure based on how you preform... Light is much more then the visible. Only about 1% of light is what we call "visible light". The power of this element lies within one of the most fundamental physical properties in all of nature... and there in lies its strength."
Alex unsheathed his Blade of Balance and held it up to the sky. The blade began to glow with an intense inner light.
"Light is indeed at the core of a star's power... the power of the sun. While fire element harnesses a stars death... Light harnesses its life."
The light on Alex's blade began to flow towards the tip and in a thin stream it rose up into the sky. Slowly the clouds over head evaporated away revealing billions of stars in an orange sky while the sun went to bed on the horizon. The stars then began to rain down from the heavens like a waterfall of diamonds and even Na'omi would be able to feel the power of the force surging through her.
"Light is made up of particles called photons," Alex explained, "without this energy, life could not exist. Light is the basic element of life."

The surge of the force swept through Na'omi, a link that she felt there, but faintly, though as the stars began to fall, sparkling in the beginnings of night. As it flowed into her, No she thought to herself Not flow, its more like... I'm a part of it, like, it was there all along and had to be pulled up and through me...
"Light... is life..." The silvery haired woman echoed as her eyes stared up into the Heavens of Space and the above. She turned back to Alex a look of wonder filled her face, somewhat like that of a Youngling, picking up a lightsaber for the first time.
"Now my question is, what does that have to do with me?"

Alex closed his eyes and smiled at Na'omi's question, giving a soft chuckle.
"Everything... From the wings on your back to the untapped power of the force that flows within you, there can be little mistaking it. You are Irihi Na'omi. The fourth of the seven great Mitsukai and the keeper of the light."
Alex reached into his robe and produced a worn and tattered old book. Carefully he flipped through the pages until coming to about the middle.
"Do you know what this is?" Alex asked still looking into the book, "Before holocrons all the knowledge of all systems in the Universe were recorded on pages just like these. This book was the property of a man named Makura Atsuke... He was the first," Alex said looking up at Na'omi breifly before continuing, "Here are recorded Makura's force forms and the information on his six students... of whom he choose personally based on a predetermined link to the universe through the force that he refers to here as 'Adaptation'."
Alex cleared his throat, licking his thumb before carefully turning the old page over.
"Adaptation," Alex read, "is determined at birth. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for why each life form adapts itself to these elements as far as I can tell, suffice it to say that the force gives the Mitsukai a connection to all life and through life a connection to all the elements and forces of nature. As seems to be the case with all bonds to the force, the bonds to specific elements seem stronger in some then in others. While each of us are connected through the force to all the elements of nature, each also has one connection that proves stronger then the others. However to discover which connection is strongest requires the use of particularly savage power."
Alex turned the page carefully again and looked up at Na'omi.
"Now you should listen to this next part, because this applies to you..." Alex said burying his face back into the book and reading on, "After Ichijin and Uramachi, the next student I came across was a stunning young lady called Irihi Naomi. Long silver hair and pale white skin, she was quite shy for such a gifted girl, but this did little to veil the obviousness of her talent. Modesty can be a great quality for a warrior, especially one entrusted with such great and terrible power. Unlike Ichijin's wind power or Uramachi's earth mastery, Irihi's abilities were unique. Focusing less on offense and more on defense, she could bend the light itself to her will."
With that Alex closed the book and turned his attention back to Na'omi.
"Well call it a coincidence if you like, but you bare a striking resemblance to the young lady described by Makura. There is a great and terrible power laying dormant inside you, Na'omi. And you are going to have to decide very soon whether or not you can accept this destiny. That's what this has to do with you."
