Exiting hyperspace over the icey planet of Hoth, the transport carrying the recruits began its approach to the planet.
The ship entered the atmosphere, giving the recruits a nice view point of the white planet instead of the darkness of space. Luckily, it wasn't snowing that bad out, just very windy and chilly. The ship began its decent towards the hangar bay. Ozzy was shaking but Don told him to calm down.
Landing on the docking bay, the ships rear door opened with a tall human in a Republic Military Uniform walking up.
"Get off my ship! Now!" shouted the drill sergeant . Don knew this was going to be the stuff he was made for.

Boot Camp was almost over. Don learned so much and has become much more stronger than ever before. He is now the leader of a squad assigned from the DI's. His squad consists of a rifleman, a machine gunner, an anti-armor man, and two rushers(guys with automatic rifles). The camp started with 800 men; and it still stands at 800. These men stayed through the rough from the very beginning. From physical training to surviving in the Hoth weather, they have become one of the best this camp has ever seen. Now they were in their final week of camp before officially named Republic Soldiers.
Don sat on his bunk bed, tieing his boots and making sure his uniform and gear were ready. Ozzy sat in his bed next to him. Ozzy was assigned as his rifleman, with one of the best shots out of the class. As the men were getting prepared, the Drill Instructor came in.
"Attention on deck!" ordered Don, prompting everyone to stop what they were doing and stand at attention.
"At ease," said the DI as the men calmed down."You all have made it this far, but you are not out of the woods yet. You will participate in a training excersise against practice droids. The farther you advance, the more advanced the droids become. If you get shot, you will fell how it feels like but not be killed. If you are taken prisoner, you will be held prisoner until freed upon. Anything can happen. This will give you a small taste to what war feels like. You are a team. Work together. Understood?"
"Yes, sir!" echoed the barracks.

The base was lively as ever as the new recruits were preparing for their final test. The DI's had made a scenario that would be a new thing called "Urban Warfare". Many tall buildings were created, along with narrow streets and pedestrian areas. The situation was this. A private army from one of the Hutt clans took over a part of Coruscant and it was the mens job to reach the Hutt base and capture it. They would face easy troops, and each block they advanced, they would face the harder troops.
Don stood in front of his men as the transport ships arrived, each would carry 12 men, 2 squads in each. Their ship arrived, and the men all boarded it. The ship would drop them off in a secured part of the city. Intel confirmed that there were Hutt troops just 2 blocks from the drop off point and that they had good defensive positions. It was even rumored that they had a heavy gun in the vicinity.
Roaring to life, the ship lifted off from the ground and followed the other ships. It was a sunny, yet cold, day on Hoth; typical day for the men.
Flying through the skies of Hoth, Don looked at his men and sensed the maturity that they have gained through their time here at camp.
"30 seconds!" yelled the pilot. Don looked out the window and saw the Hutt controlled part of Coruscant. He knew it was their part because so many anti-air guns were lighting up the skies, aiming for the transports. The ship began taking heavy fire from below, then its right wing hit. The pilot tried controlling it, but it was no use. The men braced for impace as the ship crashed at an angle on a street, skidding to the end of the street. The soldiers were all okay, but the pilots were dead.
"Move out, get to that building over there!" ordered Don, knowing that the enemy would swarm the transport in a few minutes.

Don was right, the enemy swarmed the crash site within minutes. Don and the few remaining men he had made it to a nearby building.
"Head upstairs," Don told the men who also survived the crash. Ozzy peeked his head around the wall and watched the enemy drag the dead pilots out of the ship.
"Poor souls," said Ozzy, shaking his head. He followed the last man upstairs, Don soon following him. The men secured the upstairs and would hold the area until the enemy went away. That surely would not happen. They would be here all night if they had to, but that would be ballsy, since more Republic troops would reinforce the area if they didn't get word from Don and his team.
"I still wonder how the hell the Hutts got so many men and weapons, especially the AA, into the city." wondered Ozzy, as he added attached a scope to his rifle."What's the plan sir?"
"We have 10 men right now. Hopefully the other units are doing fine and if we're lucky, we can meet up with Snake. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if we can move with our friends down there," pointed Don. He looked out the window and saw the Hutt troops setting up camp. They had patrols scanning the area for survivors. Don knew that they could not stay here. They would search this building. Don also observed that these troops had red markings on their uniforms. Intel showed that these men were part of the Hutts elite unit, the Garan. They were well trained S.O.B's.
"Should we travel among the roof tops?" asked a trooper.
"We might have to do that. We all have grappling devices. Trooper, give me your explosives." ordered Don as the man gave him the explosives."We're gonna plant 4 charges downstairs. Two of you will plant them. This building is close to the crash site, so when it comes down, their fucked. We'll do it right at night."
"What about civilians in this building sir?" said Ozzy.
"Don't worry about that. This building is clear and I'm sure most of them fled the area," said another trooper."Donny and I just checked the building, all set Captain."
"Good work. Yuri and Donny, plant those explosives. Be back in 10. Remain unseen. The rest of you, be ready for anything. Ozzy, watch that window for anything."
"Yes sir." said all the men.
10 minutes later...
"Explosives planted sir. The enemy walked past us a few times, but that's it." said Yurie.
"Well done. Men, move out. We'll give these Hutt scum a midnight snack." the men let out a slight chuckle as they moved up stairs.
The point man has a repeating blaster as he led the way upstairs. He slowly opened the door and the night of Coruscant was shown amongst the rooftops. Occasional gun shots and explosions could be heard. The talking of the unexpected Hutt troops echoed through the street as they laughed and drank.
The Republic troops were a few clicks from the Hutt HQ, which was the Opera house. They controlled most of the entertainment district. The men were making good pace to the Opera House, keeping an eye out for any movement. They were spread out amongst the roof tops, staying out of site from any snipers in the roofs across the street.
Suddenly, the pointman raised his hand, stopping all the men. Don crouch-walked behind the man, looking around.
"We're here sir. The Opera House is right below us."
"Radio." motioned Don to one of the troopers."Base, this is Alpha Squad, we are at the Hutt HQ. HQ is the Opera House, I repeat, Opera House. Request Reinforcements. Over."
"Roger that, Alpha. You have armored, air, and infantry support there already."
"Where the hell are they? We don't see-"
BOOM!!!! The building shook as the armor began its attack on enemy positions below Don and his men. Blaster fire erupted from both sides and then, the gunships flew in over heard to assault the roof tops.
"Never mind, just tell the boys above to watch their fire. We're moving in."
"Good luck." said the Republic HQ.
Don waved his arm forward as his men rushed the roof-top. They readied their ropes and rapeled down to the balcony before them. As they dropped they stuck to the walls. Don took point and looked through the window. Hutt troops rushed down the stairs, hoping to reinforce the defensive line. Don looked behind his men and nodded, them doing the same. Don readied a grenade and smashed open the window.
The enemy troopers were too busy to focus on the breaking of the glass but one of the troopers stopped and saw Don. Before he could call for help, a grenade rolled to his feet. Don pulled his head back and the blast took out anything in its path.
Don was the first to rush in as he saw crawling men on the ground, injured. He shot them in the head and his men entered the room, clearing the room. As the room was clear, they made their advance to the stage. That was most likely where the Hutt HQ was. The men were near the stage.
As they made their way down to the upper balcony, they could hear hostages pleading for their lives. The Republic Troops got to the balcony edge and watched what was transpiring.
"You will never get away with this, Hutt scum." said a male hostage.
"You're all alone. No body is gonna save you. Prepare to die..." the Hutt soldier raised his pistol and pointed it at the males head...
Don was quick to act. He motioned for Ozzy to shoot the guy with the pistol. Don then grabbed his other rope and ordered 6 other guys to follow him and the rest would lay down suppressing fire from above.
The sniper shot rang out, killing the guy with the gun. Don and his men propelled down to the ground floor, firing their blasters at the remaining men. As they reached the ground level, they began rushing the stage. The enemy was caught off guard.
Don took 3 of the Hutt troopers prisoner and the hostages were set free. The siege was over. Casualties were taken on both sides.
Training was complete. Don would return to Coruscant and be stationed on who knows what.
