We've made it. The ship and crew operated better then i ever dreamed they could have. Unfortunately, it didn't save us from our woes. 4 of my originaly dispatched 54 fighters made it back, and 12 pilots survived. Our bow looks like someone took a giant capitol ship sized blow torch to it and i'll be doing funerals for the next month for the victims of that nuke strike.
Memo: Have enegineering department see what they can do about additional radiation shielding.
The destruction of Lysander was another blow to the crew. The most advanced ship in the fleet had been destroyed much more easily then it should have been. Even though it took out several larger ships with it, that's not much consolation to the crew who had friends or family on board it during the battle.
The best bit of news about that is most of her crew made it out alive. Can't say the same for her pilots however. She didn't fair any better then we did. I've put our repair facility through its paces having them retool everything to build more fighters, but in all honesty, i don't think we have the materials to crank out enough replacement fighters, and without fighters our combat ability is more then halved.
While fighters are a problem, Pilots i'm in no short supply of. A lot of Corellians within the civilian fleet are avid pilots of various ships and a lot of them want into the military to get their shot at revenge. I'm having my surviving pilots sift through the applications for potentials to run through the few simulators we have on board. I plan on making Jor Halcyon, Jedi Knight, my standing CAG until i can get a navy replacement whom i know i can trust.
I got to say, i'm worried. Polar Star, Widget, Patron Saint. Theres a growing trend of Republic cruisers joining in this madness and i want to get to the bottom of it. Captain Tracin'ya's report has been a valuable piece of intelligence on this matter. His Mandalorian professionalism and discipline showed through in his report, and the measure of detail he used was very much above average.
Memo: (See Captain Tracin'yas report. Civilian-Military report #1314-75-4006)
I'll see if there aren't some people in Republic Intelligence i can't trust to see what i can find out. Until then, i plan on sticking around here. There's no way anyone can find us here so we should be safe. i doubt that will last forever though so i need to find a place to do proper repairs.
I'll say one thing for Mr. Halcyon however. He knows how to stock an Asteroid base. We have a full load of everything now. Concussion missiles, warheads, and most importantly, mass driver slugs.
Memo: see about cannibalizing some of the smaller damaged Civilian ships for spare parts and scrap metal.

I'm worried about the military network. As long as i'm locked out of it, no one will know where i am, friend and foe alike. But as soon as we go active on the network again, that leaves us open to a slice that could bring our shields down or worse, like what happened to the fleet at Ilium.
I'll throw my tech boys on that right away.
