Prologue
I’ve always wondered about my father. My mother told me stories about him when I was a child. She said he was a hero to all, an enemy to others. If only I had known my father, I would have asked him so many questions. My mother described him as a charismatic man, an amazing person in general. He was killed during the Clone Wars at the Siege of Courscant, when Chancellor Palpatine was abducted by the Separatists. I was 16 at the time, and she told me that he was killed on my 16th birthday. We were living on Corellia at that time, not invaded by droid forces. Our economy took a hit though when Duro, near Corellia, was invaded. My mother and I suffered dearly, financial wise. We were forced to live on the streets. There were some Jedi there and when we asked them to help us, they refused. They lavished in their luxury and filth. She later died from an unknown disease, leaving me to fend for my own. I was forced to live in an orphanage, from kids whose parents were killed from the war. I later escaped and joined the Republic Military. I started out small but once the Empire came into power, I was appointed General of the 43rd Imperial Army.
Chapter 1: General of the 43rd Imperial Army
It was just an ordinary day as a General, going through paperwork, signing the arduous amounts of that paper work, and following orders from High Command. As of right now, we were stationed on the tropical world of Rishi. We haven’t seen action here for quite some time, only a rebellion here and there. I was in charge of almost 218,000 troops, dozens of tanks, and various others who supported the ground. The man I work with, Admiral James Welsch, was in charge of the fleet that supported us. He controlled 5 Nebula Class Star Destroyers, 20 Imperial Class II Star Destroyers, 5 Clone War Era Acclamators, 3 Tector Class Star Destroyers, dozens of frigates, and the fighters and bombers.
I sat back in my chair, relaxing from the paperwork that I had just completed. The paper work was nothing really, it was just that an Imperial Trooper was drunk one night and found in bed with his C.O’s daughter. That trooper was beaten by the CO and the CO had to be court-martialed and punished. The trooper, on the other hand, was just given several broken bones and a black eye from the fight. To me, that was enough punishment for him, along with cleaning the mess hall once he was all better for the next few weeks. Wandering off into a sleep, there was a knock at my door. I sat back up in my chair and looked at the door.
“Enter.” I said in a firm voice. I picked up my cup full of blue milk, seeing as how I only drank milk. As I took a sip, the door slowly opened and entered a tall, thin man. His name is Colonel Thane, one of my trusted C.O’s and a personal friend. He and I grew up on Corellia together and joined the service at the same time. I smiled as I put down my drink. “Take a seat, Colonel. Want something to drink?” motioning to the glass of blue milk.
“No thank you, sir.” Thane sat down but seemed a little off edge. He tried looking normal, acting like a Colonel would, but he knew that he can act anyway around me, it just had to be proper of course.
“Is something the matter, Thane?” I questioned, looking deep into his eyes. Thane’s eyes shot around the room like pin balls, his skin trembling. “For God’s Sake, Colonel, are on that drug again?”
Finally straightening up, the Colonel calmed down. “No sir, I just got word from High Command that the Death Star has been destroyed.”
Immediately, I shot up from my seat. “What?! How could this have happened…” I walked to the window in my office, which overlooked the ocean on Rishi. I felt like it had torn me to pieces, the death of the Empires most prized procession and the lives of all those souls on it.
“The Rebels, sir, they are the ones that destroyed it…” said the Colonel as he trailed off. He felt the pain too, I could tell. Both of us wondered how our men would take it.
I turned back around to him, gathering myself and straightening my face. “Tell the Company Commanders, and have them tell their men. Also…” I was interrupted by another knock at the door, this time from my personal assistant. He had a folder in his left hand and stood tall, saluting both myself and Colonel Thane.
“Sir, orders from Command, sir.” The assistant gave me the orders and I waved my hand to him, signaling him to leave. I opened up the folder and my eyes widened even farther. Just when I thought things couldn’t get worse, they did.
“Colonel, we have our new orders….We’re heading to Geonosis.” I said in an emotionless tone, slamming the orders on the table. Apparently, there has been some droid activity reported in that system. We were going there to check it out. Colonel Thane looked over the orders, then me.
“Well, shall I go prepare the men and inform Admiral Welsch?”
“Do so. We move out at 1400.”
“Yes, sir!” Thane stood up and saluted. He walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. I turned around and looked outside the window once again. There was some type of rage growing in me, part of it coming from the death of those men on the Death Star, the other part, I didn’t know.
Chapter 2: Shadows from the Past
The fleet blasted outside the orange planet of Geonosis. I stood next to Admiral Welsch as he gave out orders to the ships crew.
“Scan the area for energy readings. It hasn’t been confirmed if this is some type of droid revolution, an ex-Separatist, or perhaps even a Jedi reactivating a droid army.” The Admiral said to the crew. As the crew went about their business, listening to the Admiral’s orders, I looked down at the planet. This was the place where the Clone Wars started, the first major conflict. Voices were running through my head, telling me of something waiting for me down on the planet, something that would give me the answer to my future. I paid no attention to it. I was more focused on investigating this droid activity. Going through my thoughts, Admiral Welsch turned his attention back to me.
“General Tyon, are your men ready?” he asked while some of the crew’s captains stood behind him.
“Yes, we are Admiral. Ready whenever you are.” I responded, heading for the hangar bay. The Admiral nodded then ordered the 3 Acclamators to head for the planet. They would be escorted by several TIE squadrons. I had walked to a Lambda Class Shuttle that would bring me planet side. We would have plenty of tanks, men, artillery, air support, whatever we had to our disposal.
As I walked on board my shuttle, the Admiral’s voice echoed throughout the shuttle. “We have picked up energy readings to the east side of the planet, General. The Acclamators will fly over the asteroid belt to avoid taking damage. Good luck.” His message ended just as the shuttle was brought to life. The pilot lifted the shuttle off the hangar floor as it hovered out of the hangar bay and began following the task force down to the planet.
We entered the barren world of Geonosis, the sun beating down on the metal of our ships. Fighters scouted ahead and they reported no droid activity in this region. The Acclamators began landing about 10 miles from where we suspected the droid factory to be. My shuttle landed in between two of the large ships. I walked down the ramp and looked up at the sun, which shined down on me. Voices were running through my head, telling me that I would find what I was looking for here. I figured it meant I’d find droids here, but whatever. Colonel Thane walked up to me, followed by 5 Imperial Commandos.
“Sir,” said Thane as he saluted me and I saluted him back. “These Commandos have found the factory, sir. They say a Jedi re-activated the army here.”
“Jedi? I thought they were all killed?” I said, surprised.
“Not all of them, sir. We have identified the man as Jedi Master K’Kruhk. He’s a Whipid and resides from Toola, General.” Said the Commando Leader, Captain Garth. “We thought it was best to tell you before we acted.”
“And what would you have planned to do?!” snapping at the Commando. I have never faced a Jedi. Hopefully this one wouldn’t be a problem, but who knows. We’d have to attack him with sheer force. I turned back to the Colonel as the last of the infantry and armor unloaded.
”Colonel, begin the approach. Call in an orbital strike upon the factory. After the strike is over, I want the cannons firing as our infantry and tanks move up.” I ordered as one of the troopers gave me my armor. I was going to be behind the men in an LAAT. These were effective transport ships for on the battlefield, hence why I kept them. We had several that would drop some of our troops, most notably the commandos, behind enemy lines. The Colonel obeyed and went to the communications center on one of the Acclamators.
Within minutes, I was on one of the LAAT’s with the commandos, and the ship took off. We flew over the tank and infantry lines and looked to the skies. We saw squadrons of TIE Bombers bomb the droid lines and factory, along with the heavy turbolaser batteries from the mammoth capital ships.
Meanwhile at the droid factory…
Jedi Master K’Kruhk looked at the computer screen. He had a feeling the Empire would send an army after him. This was part of the plan though. He was glad that the Rebels decided not to have a base here. The Geonosians were far less reasonable than K’Kruhk expected. Luckily, once they saw his lightsaber, they didn’t attack.
The computer screen K’Kruhk was looking at showed the droid lines being smashed by the Imperial guns and bombs. He then looked to the right of the screen and saw that the infantry and tank lines were advancing. One of the battledroid commanders was standing next to the Jedi, waiting for orders.
“Fight to the last droid. Delay the Imperials as long as possible…” K’Kruhk said, knowing this wasn’t a battle he could not win.
“Roger, roger.” As the droid walked away, K’Kruhk sensed a presence in the Force on the planet. It wasn’t him, it was someone else.
Back at the Imperial Lines…
The LAAT’s swooped down as they did a strafing run against the droid army. The Imperial Infantry, supported by AT-ST’s, AT-AT’s, and the cannons, continued drawing closer to the factory. General Tyon’s LAAT flew behind the enemy lines as they began jamming the droid’s sensors. The pilot brought the ship down at a hidden hangar base and once he landed, the Commandos stepped off, followed by the General himself.
“Sir, are you sure it is wise to come with us? It isn’t safe here.” Said the Commando leader.
I looked around the hangar bay, only seeing a few X-Wing class fighters and some old Jedi Starfighters. One of the commandos handed me an E-11 rifle, along with a sidearm. Turning to the leader, I smiled. “I haven’t seen action in years, Garth. Besides, once we capture this Jedi, I will hopefully be promoted to Moff.” The commandos chuckled after I said this, then we moved out of the hangar bay.
We only saw a few droids patrolling the area, nothing big. We stuck to the shadows as Garth lead on the team. Finally, we reached the droid command center.
“There it is,” whispered Garth as he pointed out the room. “K’Kruhk isn’t here, shall we continue on?”
“Do it.” I said, checking my gun to make sure it was ready. Garth nodded and signaled his men to circle the perimeter. Signaling his men, the room was suddenly filled with red blaster fire. The droids in the crossfire weren’t quick enough to react and were blasted to oblivion. After the last droid fell, the commandos and I moved in. Captain Garth looked at the screen which showed the droid and Imperial lines. The Imperials were 5 miles from the factory as the droid numbers were quickly diminishing.
“Captain, find out if there is any intel here. See if you can find the turn off button for these droids.” I ordered, and then began walking out of the command center.
“Sir, where are you going?” asked Garth while his men searched the area for intel.
Slowly turning around with my gun in hand, I looked Garth in the eye. “After a shadow…” and with that being said, I walked down into the unknown regions of the droid factory.
The lights flickered from the explosions above. I was calm, secure, and in my own thoughts right now. Voices shot through me head as I walked deeper into the factory, which was not producing droids anymore. Captain Garth and his commandos must have disabled the factory. These voices were telling me to go back, while other voices were telling me my destiny awaited. I ignored them, though. If this Jedi was going to kill me, I wouldn’t go down without a fight.
Nearing a large blast door, I walked up to the door controls and pressed a few buttons. The door then opened, revealing a dark room with a red glow in the middle. Turning on the small light on my gun, I crept into the room, using the light to check my surroundings. “Come on Jedi, show yourself.” I said to myself, thinking this was a trap by the Jedi Master. Reaching the red glow, I stared down on it. The pyramid like object grew brighter in red as my hand got closer to it. As I picked up the pyramid, it suddenly opened. Falling back from the opening, I looked at the box as it floated in the air. The box revealed a holographic man in dark, black robes. The man began to speak.
“Greetings, young one….I am the Sith Lord, Count Dooku. You have found me for a reason, my child…” the Count said.
I stood back up to my feet and stared at the holographic figure. “Where are you, Count? Show yourself!”
The Count laughed as I spun around, aiming my gun into the never ending darkness of the room. “Foolish one, I am only a holocron. You, my son, are the last of the family tree. The Force guided you here, my son…”
Son? There was no way in hell I was the son of this man. “My mother said you were killed in the siege above Coruscant during the Clone Wars. I don’t understand how you can be alive.”
“This is a Sith holocron, Tyon. I am dead, yes, but in this holocron, I am alive. Your journey begins here, Tyon. From here on out, I am to train you in the Dark Arts and fulfill your destiny…”
I laughed when I heard this. “Destiny? And what might that be, father?”
“To avenge me…The man you seek is the apprentice of the Dark Lord himself.”
“Vader…” I said, clutching my gun. Count Dooku smiled, sensing the anger grow in me.
“You have anger, you have hate, use it to destroy Vader, my son.”
“What about the Emperor, though?”
“Don’t worry about him, his destiny has already been set.” Said the Count.
Before I could continue asking him questions, a lightsaber ignited in the other side of the room, revealing a green glow. I turned around at the sound of it, then back to the holocron. “Take this lightsaber. Let the Force guide you…” the image of my father ended as the holocron closed and hovered back onto the table. I saw a metal box engraved with the phrase, "In umbris potestas est". I opened the metal box and saw a curved hilt. Picking it up, I ignited the blade. The blade was a dense red color. I swung the lightsaber in swift motions, getting used to the feeling.
“Don’t follow your father’s path, Tyon.” A voice said. I turned around and held my lightsaber raised in front of me. Master K’Kruhk appeared from the shadows, holding his lightsaber on his right side. “Turn away from the Dark Side, before it is too late. Redeem your father’s wrong doings. Become a Jedi, help us destroy the last of the Sith.”
I looked away from K’Kruhk, listening to him speak. My dad’s voice came through my head again. “Don’t listen to him. Remember when your mother and you were on Corellia, and the Jedi refused to help you? Well, he was one of them. Show him no mercy.”
My anger enraging from my memories as a child, I turned back to K’Kruhk. Extending my hand, lightning shot out of my hand. The lightning went right to K’Kruhk as it illuminated the room. K’Kruhk absorbed the lightning with his lightsaber and sent it right back at me, knocking me into a wall. As I lay slouched down on the ground, the Whipid walked up to me. “You have much to learn, Tyon. Turn away from the Dark Side. Don’t make me kill you.” He said as he reached out with his hand, offering his hand in help.
Looking back up at the man, I closed my eyes. The memories of my mother dying in the streets of Corellia, the Jedi refusing to help, caused me a great deal of hurt, and anger. In rage, I grasped my lightsaber and swung it at K’Kruhk’s arm, severing his arm. As K’Kruhk fell back in pain, I sprung to my feet and charged at the tumbling Jedi. Letting out a battle cry, I pulled my lightsaber back then with a powerful stroke, cut down the Whipid Jedi. He collapsed to the ground, his body lay in two. K’Kruhk’s lightsaber rolled to the ground, off his finger tips.
I deactivated my lightsaber and picked up his. Looking down at the dead Jedi Master, a sinister smile broke upon my face.
“Goood, my son…You have begun your destiny. Remember one thing, however, be ruthless to all who resist, to all who stand in your way, to all who oppose you!” screamed my father’s voice in my head. “Peace is a lie, there is only passion.” That was the last thing that came through my head. The holocron was calling to me. This would serve me well in teaching me the ways of the Dark Side.
Within minutes, Captain Garth and his team entered the room. Garth walked up to me and noticed the fallen Jedi. “Good work, General. How did you do it?” He asked, catching a glimpse of my lightsaber. He then looked up to me, in a shocked state of mind. “Sir…are you a Sith?”
When the Captain said this, all of his men looked at me. They surrounded me, without their guns raised. I sighed and looked at Garth. “This is not to be repeated to anyone, not even Vader himself. If anyone else finds out, you will suffer dearly…”
The men all looked to Garth, who stared into me. “Very well, sir. Men, move out.” He said as his men began filing out of the room. Garth and I were the last ones to leave.
“Is the droid army wiped out?” I asked.
“Yes they are, sir. The Colonel says that we have suffered a couple of thousand casualties and will be getting reinforcements in a few weeks.”
“Excellent, we’ll need all the help we can get.”
Chapter 3: Training
On board the flagship, Tridarian, I sat in my chambers, staring at the holocron. I was tempted to open it, learn the ways of the Dark Side of the Force. I had told my guards not to disturb me, and to seal off the entire hallway so no one interrupts me. As of right now, the fleet was on its way to Courscant for a debriefing with high command. Emperor Palpatine and Lord Vader were not going to be there. The Emperor was at the Second Death Star, which was nearing construction, and Vader was there as well. This would be a good opportunity to gain the support of my allies.
I finally decided to open the holocron once more. Pressing the button, the image of my father re-appeared. “I knew you would come through, Tyon. You have much to learn…”
For countless hours, I was taught the lightsaber form of Makashi, my father’s perfected lightsaber form. Not only was I taught Makashi, but also the Dark Arts. Although I only learned the basics, I quickly learned the advanced versions of these powers.
“Concentrate,” he said to me, as I put together my lightsaber. “Become one with the lightsaber, focus.” Dooku continued on as I completed my lightsaber. “Well done, my son. Soon you will be able to defeat the Emperor and Vader, but do not underestimate them. Underestimating them will be your downfall.”
I nodded as I listened to him speak. Dooku continued on. “Once you face them, I will not be with you. The Dark Side of the Force is strong in you.”
I stared down at my lightsaber, the Dark Side energy flowing through me. “Is there anything else I should know, father?”
“Yes, remember this. Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me. That, my son, is the Sith Code. Remember it; cherish it, lavish in it.” After those words, a red beam shot out of the holocron. I raised my arm to block the light and when I lowered the arm, the holocron was gone.
“May the Force serve you well.” Said my father through my mind. Suddenly, there was a knock at my door.
“Enter,” I said, hiding my lightsaber. Colonel Thane walked in and I looked at him as he walked into the room.
“We have entered the system, sir. Your shuttle is prepared.”
“Good, let’s get going. Thane, I want you with me when I meet the other Generals and Admirals.” I told him. I grabbed my gear, along with my lightsaber, which I stowed away in my bag. Thane was speechless as I told him this. He followed me to my shuttle in the hangar bay. Admiral Welsch was already inside it as Thane and I walked aboard.
“Admiral,” I said, taking my seat. The Admiral nodded and told the pilot to get us out of here. The shuttle lifted off the ground and shot out of the hangar, bound for the Imperial High Command building on Coruscant.
Chapter 4: Honor over Allegiance
The city of Coruscant buzzed with civilian, and military, life. Various ships entered and left the Imperial Capital, civilians lived their daily lives, and Imperial Security forces were at every street in the capital, keeping order in the city. The sun had begun to set on the Imperial Capital, as clouds began forming above the city.
Our shuttle landed on one of the platforms of the Imperial High Command building. The other Generals and Admirals had already arrived. The boarding ramp opened and Stormtroopers marched down the ramp, closely followed by Admiral Welsch, myself, and Colonel Thane. We entered the building and walked down long corridors, filled with pictures of Imperial Generals, Admirals, and heroes to the Empire. As we walked, Imperial officers and guards saluted us as we walked past them. We saluted back of course; it was a soldier’s code to do so. Finally making it up the stairs, we reached the briefing room. The two guards opened the doors for us and we entered.
There were 20 Generals and Admirals here, combined. They all sat around a large, circular table, and there were two spots open for Admiral Welsch and me. I turned to Colonel Thane before I sat down. “Just stand behind me. If anyone of them asks what you are doing here, tell them you were ordered by me to come.” The Colonel nodded and stood behind me as the Admiral and I took our seats.
“Now that everyone is here, let’s begin.” General Thadius Lynch said as he stood up. He turned on the holoprojector, which showed the second Death Star. “The Death Star is almost complete. The Emperor is on his way there as we speak, along with his fleet, to inspect the construction. As we all know, Lord Vader is supervising the construction…” Lynch said. The Generals and Admirals murmured amongst themselves, and then let the General continue. “The Emperor has devised a plan to draw the Rebels into a trap, which will utterly destroy the entire Rebel Fleet. We have been ordered to stay away, however, as the Death Star will be operational and the 501st Legion will be on Endor, guarding the shield generator.” General Lynch stopped as he saw everyone else have a shocked look on their face.
“Why must we stay away? Is the Emperor really confident that the Rebels will lose? We saw what they did to the first Death Star, who’s saying they won’t do the same thing!” shouted one of the Generals. The others agreed as Lynch tried calming everyone down. Admiral Welsch leaned in on me as the commotion in the room ensued.
“What do you think, Tyon?” he whispered into my ear. This was good, the Generals and Admirals were thinking outside the box. I could sense the eagerness they had, the hatred they had for the Emperor. I smiled and turned to Admiral Welsch. He had a look on his face, a confused look, and then turned away.
As General Lynch was still trying to calm everyone down, I stood up and raised my hand. Everyone turned to me and stopped talking. “Gentlemen, for years, we have listened to the Emperor. For years, we have been given the task of “policing” the Galaxy for the Emperor’s enemies. And now, we have suffered more losses now to the Rebels. Now is the time for change.” I stopped and looked around the room, the eyes of the high ranking officers looking at me and staring at the table. General Lynch was surprised that I, the youngest out of all of them, was speaking out against the Emperor.
“General Tyon, you are out of place to speak like this,” he pointed out.
“Oh don’t give me that excuse for out of place!” I lashed out, which caused a gasp echoeing throughout the room. The General was in utter disbelief that I lashed out against him, and the others looked at him to see what he would do next.
“Tyon, I will have you court martialed!” he slammed his fist onto the table.
Sighing, I glared at the General. He looked back at me, his body began twitching. Lynch grabbed his head, horrific images racing through his mind, images of death and destruction. The other Generals and Admirals tried to help him, but it was too late. The General collapsed to the floor, blood and saliva dripping from his mouth. All eyes shot from his dead body to me. One of the Generals was the first to speak.
“Was that you, General Tyon?” he questioned.
“I’m afraid so.” I walked over to dead corpse of Lynch then kicked him aside. I stood in his place and looked around the table. “The Emperor deceives us all. He doesn’t care about you, your men, your ships, your families. All he cares about his power. My friends, rise with me against the Emperor, and together, we will destroy him.” This was all part of my plan. I would continue the Empire, with me as Emperor, and the Generals as my servants.
They all looked to each other in discomfort, then one of them stood up. “We will follow you, Tyon. For long enough, we have been deceived and misguided by the Emperor, and fought his pointless battles. We stand for you, in the name of the Empire.” As the General finished, everyone else in the room, including Admiral Thane, stood up. I gave them a smile, then changed the holoprojector.
“Very well, gentlemen, we have an Empire to save.” With that being said, we put our plan into motion.
Chapter 5: Aftermath of Endor
Before we left Coruscant, one of the Admirals walked up to me, followed by a Captain.
“General Thane, this is Captain Thyro. He is the Captain of the Lusankya, the sister ship to the Executor.”
My eyes widened after hearing this. “Interesting find, Admiral. Now tell me Captain,” I said turning towards the older man. “Where is this ship anyways?”
“Right beneath our feet, General. Her systems are fully operational, and it serves as a prison ship. We can always move the prisoners to a different location and bring crew members aboard to operate her.”
I nodded to both the Admiral and Captain. “Well done, Captain. Admiral Kilgaron, have the Lusankya join the 43rd Fleet when the Rebels come. This will give us an advantage in space. With that being said gentlemen, I should leave.” I saluted both of the men and left the room.
Everyone else had gone to prepare their men for our finest hour. Admiral Welsch and Thane had gone as well, back to the shuttle, waiting for me. I walked up to the large window that showed the city lights illuminate the planet. Thoughts raced through my head, as I, General Tyon, am the son of Count Dooku. I smiled down upon the city as these souls of Coruscant would have two choices to make. They can both rise and stand for the Empire itself and not its leader, or die fighting for the Rebels. It was their choice, but I sensed that they would make the right choice. After pondering in my thoughts, I left the room back to the shuttle. I took my seat next to Colonel Thane.
“Everything alright, sir?” asked the Colonel.
“Everything’s fine, Colonel. Let’s get going.” I answered as I relaxed in my seat. Admiral Welsch returned to his seat with a look in his eyes.
“General, the Emperor and Lord Vader are dead. The Rebels have destroyed the Death Star.” Said the Admiral. There was a bitter silence within the shuttle. Surely, the other Generals and Admirals would find out.
“Tell the others. This will not change our plans. I want that Lusankya out from beneath the ground by tonight. Have it join with the main fleet in space.”
“Yes, sir.” The Admiral said. As he began relaying messages to the others, I stood up from my seat and walked to the pilot. “Pilot, bring us to Endor.”
“Yes, sir.” The shuttle took off from the platform of the building. A storm had begun at the capital. Drops of rain bounced off the shuttles armor and windows, lightning lighting up the planet even brighter. Once we were in space, the pilot initiated the hyperdrive, bound for Endor.
We jumped out of hyperspace over the forest moon of Endor. I looked out the cockpit as the Colonel stood next to me. The Rebels weren’t here. There was just debris from the battle itself and the Death Star’s debris. The pilot guided the shuttle through the debris, towards the planet. As we entered the atmosphere, images of Vader and Palpatine being killed popped into my mind. What had killed them was a young man, a young Jedi. I had no idea who he was, but he beat me to my revenge.
The lush forest of Endor had some fires around the planet. I couldn’t tell if it was from the space battle and the crashed ships, or if there were some other inhabitants on the planet. The pilot pointed out a clearing and I told him to land there.
The shuttle landed and the ramps opened. I walked down the ramp, scanning the area. Colonel Thane followed me with a blaster in his hand. “What are we doing here? Are there survivors?”
“We’re not here for survivors. There is something here, something I must find, alone. Stay with the ship, Thane. I won’t be long.” I broke out into a run, furthering myself away from the shuttle. There were little openings in the forest, but I found my way around it. Finally, I reached my destination. There it was, a burnt corpse, with the metal already being burnt off the body. There he was, Lord Vader, at his finest. I stood to Vader’s right, his already burnt flesh showing itself through his burnt off mask. As I loathed in his death, a voice sounded around me.
“Not really my best experience, if I do say so myself.” Said the voice. I instantly turned around and snapped my lightsaber to my hand, only to find a Force Ghost. It was the ghost of Vader, but not in his armor. “Tell me, Tyon, what did you wish to accomplish with killing me and Palpatine?”
“Revenge at its finest, Vader. Never thought I’d see this side of you,” laughing at his burnt corpse.
Vader sighed as he sat down on a nearby log. “You’re just like your father, arrogant, thinking you are invincible. Don’t fall down that path I took, Tyon. You will surely lose the ones you love.”
“Oh yeah? I already lost the ones I love! My mother died because of you pathetic Jedi. My father, from the death of your blade!” I raised my lightsaber, ignited the blade, and swung through the ghost. The ghost vanished and my eyes shot around. The ghost was gone. I had an adrenaline rush going through my body now, itching for a kill. Taking a few deep breathes; I regained control of myself and turned my lightsaber off. The life of Endor continued to thrive around me as I went back to the shuttle. Thane sat on a rock, fixing his gun. He looked up as I entered the clearing. Thane stood up and followed me back onto the shuttle, where the Admiral was looking through fleet reports.
“Find what you were looking for?” Thane said, strapping in his seat belt.
I didn’t answer, let alone, I wasn’t even paying attention. The shuttle roared to life and flew off the system. We then blasted off into hyperspace, back to Coruscant.
Chapter 6: Our Finest Hour
The sun shined upon our glorious city of Coruscant. We have literally turned it into a fortress, a surprise around every corner. Of course, our men were hidden, same with our tanks, as they would strike any ground forces that were within their range.
I stood in front of our holoprojector in the command center, which was deep within the grounds of Coruscant. Men were racing back and forth, doing their last minute tid bits to our greatest hour. We had reason to believe that the Rebels planned to take Coruscant today. We weren’t gonna let that happen. Walking up a set of stairs and too a balcony, I raised my right hand, and everyone stopped with what they were doing.
“My comrades, today is the day, we defend what is truly ours. Under Emperor Palpatine’s control, we were just pawns in his scheme for Galactic Control. Now, we are free. Now, we are to wipe out the true threat to the Empire, the Rebel scum!” They cheered as I said those words, then I continued on. “Remember your comrades at Endor, remember their lost souls, and remember all of the soldiers who lost their lives throughout these tyrannical years!” The men in the chambers went ballistic in high morale. They let out cheers and sung chants that they learned from their training. I looked down upon them, knowing that they were under my control. Joining in on the singing, I swung my arms around, like a choreographer at a play. This further enhanced my control and trust among the men as I played along with their songs.
Suddenly, the alarm went off. The Rebels were here above Coruscant. The men immediately stopped and looked to me for orders. “Keep the fleets out of range. Let them land their troops. Send 10 waves of fighters to those troop transports. I want as many shot down as possible. Once I give the signal, send the fleets in. This should catch the Rebels off guard.” The men all screamed “yes sir” and went about their business. I wouldn’t be in the command center. I would be up on the ground, leading the 43rd Army into the brunt of the Rebel Forces.
Our plan was simple. We devised road blocks, thanks to the help of the civilians, which by the way, most of them joined in the defense efforts. Most of the roads were blocked, and the rebels would soon realize that they had two options on where to land. In hot zones, where we had anti-aircraft emplacements set up, or landing their troops on top of buildings, where we had surprises in each building for them. It was truly a death trap.
Walking towards the elevator, Colonel Thane barely made it into the elevator. As he stood next to me and caught his breath, I looked at him. “You know, Colonel, I should have appointed you as my Commander.” The elevator began rising to the upper levels.
“I would rather fight on the battlefield than in the war room, sir. I am with you every step of the way.” He said, in his white armor with a black stripe extending down the middle. The elevator brought us up to the upper levels, where the troopers were making their last preparations. We were in a building that looked down one of the key streets where we wanted the Rebels to land. The troopers in this building and other buildings were armed to the brim with rockets, sniper rifles, anything we had at our disposal. This was our territory, and we had everything locked to the ready.
“Here they come!” shouted one of the troopers.
“Steady men...steady…” I said, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. 3 Rebel transports had landed about 300 yards from our position. They were surrounded by tall buildings all around, each with troopers waiting to fire. Our fighters engaged theirs over the city, as our AA pummeled the transports and fighters. I looked into my binoculars and saw the first tanks and infantry unload from the transports. “Fire!” I ordered, and my building and the other buildings pummeling the ground with laser and rocket fire. The Rebels in our sector suffered heavy casualties from our firepower. The transports were eventually destroyed from the various rocket teams scattered in the sector.
Watching my men rejoice from the destruction of those men, I turned to them. “This is only the first wave, be prepared for the second!” They finally calmed down and checked their weapons as the building shook from crashed fighters and transports around them. I took out my comlink and opened up a channel with the Admirals.
“Admiral Welsch, initiate Phase Delta.” I said, then shutting my comlink off.
In space, as the Rebel Fleet began forming a blockade, the might of the Imperial Fleet exited hyperspace. They had taken position near the four moons orbiting Coruscant. The Imperial Fleet matched the Rebel Fleet in ships, but the Rebels would have to face the Lusankya, sister ship to the Executor. Admiral Welsch stood on board the Lusankya as he sent out the orders to the other admirals. “Wipe them all out. Turn this space into a scrap pile.” The Imperial fleet had completed their blockade and engaged the Rebel fleet head on with both sides exchanging fire. Thousands of Imperial Fighters raced out of the hangar bays and began picking off Rebel fighters and bombers, as well as engaging Rebel troop transports. The Lusankya was at the brunt of the attack, supported by 6 Star Destroyers, as the 7 ships engaged the Mon Calamari made warships.
On the ground, I looked up to the skies where I could see the two fleets engaging head on. I was suddenly shaken by Colonel Thane. “Sir, we have a problem at Sector Bravo. A Jedi has broken the ranks at the Jedi Temple. He’s brought troops with him.”
“Tell the men to move out. If they want that Temple, they’ll have to fight for it.” I said as I left the building. I boarded a nearby LAAT and ordered the pilot to bring me to the Jedi Temple. Thane followed me once again, but I told him to go with the others. I’d meet them there and see the situation at the Temple. The pilot veered the ship through fighters as the ships gunners did the best they could to defend us. A missile hit our right wing and the pilot tried controlling the ship. We were close to the Temple. Knowing we would die if we crashed, I reached out into the Force and guided the ship safely to the ground. As I walked out, red lasers flew over my head as Rebel troopers stood at the steps of the Jedi Temple. I took cover behind the ship as the pilots grabbed any weapons they could.
“Hold out as long as you can here, reinforcements should arrive soon.” I shouted as explosions and blaster fire surrounded us. Taking out my lightsaber, I jumped over the LAAT and charged forward. I sensed where the lasers would be and blocked any that were near. Drawing closer the Rebel lines, I used the Force to push them back. Carving my lightsaber through any Rebels that stood in my way, I reached the steps of the Jedi Temple. Running up the steps and blocking the blaster fire, I finally reached the Temple entrance. There were no Rebels up here, just me and the souls of the Jedi that lost their lives during the Jedi Purge. I put my lightsaber away, sensing another presence here. I was not alone. I continued on, heading for the Council Chambers…
Chapter 7: The Force Shall Free Me
As the battle raged on the ground and in space, I continued on my walk to the Council Chambers, where my destiny awaited. Looking around my surroundings, I noticed that the Temple was never repaired after the Purge. Once this was all over, I thought about making a Sith Academy here, but the Light was still here, no matter how long Palpatine ruled, he could not rid of the light. I would worry about that later. Now it was time to face my destiny, to determine the fate of the Empire itself. The Council Chambers were in front of me, and I waved my hand at the door. The door opened and I walked in, with a man meditating in the middle of the Chambers.
“You…” I said taking out my ligthsaber and the blade hissing to life. “Who are you?”
The man opened his eyes and stood up. He was a young man with light brown hair and his hair was combed to the side. He wore black robes and had a lightsaber on his belt. “I am Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, son to Anakin Skywalker.” Luke took out his lightsaber and held it to his side, but didn’t ignite it. “I can ask the same question of you, but I know who you are. You’re the murderer of Master K’Kruhk and son of Count Dooku.”
“How you know of my past is not important.” I said in a low voice, while getting into the Makashi Stance. “You, young Jedi, are doomed.” I extended my free hand and sent Skywalker forward. The young Jedi fell into one of the chairs and dropped to the ground. Skywalker quickly recovered and finally ignited his green blade. He let out a battle cry and swung downward, out blades crashing against each other.
In swift motions, we exchanged blows from the left to the right. Swinging my blade in a downward motion, Skywalker spun around and knocked my lightssaber into the air. As he moved in for the kill, I let out my hand and called the lightsaber back to me and ignited it, just in time to block Skywalker’s blow. Getting into each others face, the chambers took a hit from the crashed ship. Both of us fell down to the ground as the chambers lost its balance.
The battle outside was a blood bath, the Imperials fending off the Rebel invaders. The fleets continued slugging it out with their onslaughts of turbolasers and missiles, the fighters dropping like flies.
Skywalked held onto a pillar as I held onto a chair. The chamber had broken off from the Temple and was on a crash course to the ground below. I looked at Skywalker as he looked at me. Using the fall to my advantage, I let go of the chair and blasted away the glass in the chambers and began my decent to the ground. I used the Force to guide me onto a Rebel Transport. Standing on top of the ship, I watched as the chamber crashed into the battle down below. I smiled knowing that Skywalker hadn’t survived the crash but then, the Jedi landed on the ship I was on.
“You’ll have to do better than that.” He said. I unleashed Dark Lightning upon Skywalker. He raised his lightsaber and blocked the lightning, sending it to Imperial Fighters that flew by the transport. As he deflected the lightning, I drove my lightsaber into the transport, the ship suddenly veering off course. Leaping forward, I plunged my lightsaber at the Jedi, but was soon pushed back off the transport.
I twisted in the air, so that my stomach was facing towards the ground. The wind whizzing past my face, I took out a grappling device and fired it at an X-Wing. I swung myself up and landed on top of the cockpit. The pilot shot his head up, which was met with the blade of my lightsaber. I ripped the cockpit windows off and threw the body out, and then took position in the fighter. I flew the fighter towards the Imperial Palace, where it was abandoned. I chose for it to be abandoned because this was something I had to take care of personally. The Dark Side flourished here, I sensed, as I landed the fighter at top of the Palace. I walked deeper into the Palace, to where the Emperor once lived. He had pictures of himself and torches all around the place. Sick freak if you ask me.
“You can’t hide forever, Tyon.” Said Skywalker, lowering his black hood as he entered the chamber.
I briskly turned around with my lightsaber in hand and swung it at him, his lightsaber meeting mine. As we struggled for the upper hand, Skywalker used his right leg to kick me to the ground. I fell to the ground and dropped my lightsaber. He kicked it to the side before I had the chance to get it. His green blade pointed directly at my face. I pushing myself away from his lightsaber, but was stopped by the wall. “Go ahead, kill me. Kill me like your father did to mine. Kill an unarmed man. That’s what a Jedi would do.”
Skywalker still held out his blade and finally turned it off. “No, that is not what a Jedi would do.” He said as he turned his back. “Jedi aren’t like that Tyon, the Dark Side clouds your mind. Don’t you see the good in you? Redeem your family name; don’t follow your father’s path down the Dark Side.” Skywalker looked into my eyes, trying to find some good in me. As I thought, my father’s voice echoed once again in my head. Avenge me…Remembering those words, I used the Force to ignite my lightsaber and catch Skywalker off guard. He easily cut the lightsaber in half and raised his to me. I extended both of my hands, Dark Lightning pouring out of my hands. Skywalker dropped his lightsaber and began absorbing the lightning. As the lightning intensified, Skywalker moved in closer on me as I rose to my feet, still concentrating on the lightning. We were face to face, the lightning starting to hit both of us. I remembered my favorite part of the Sith Code. The Force Shall Free Me. Both Skywalker and I collided, our hands filled with lightning caused a furious explosion of lightning upon the upper levels of the Imperial Palace. The explosion was so big; it sent a large quake in the ground that only lasted a few minutes.
Chapter 8: Beginning of a New Era
The Imperials had defended the city. Casualties were heavy on both sides. The Imperial Fleet suffered losses of several Capital Ships and Fighters, but the Lusankya still haunted the battlefield with severe damage. Colonel Thane walked around the Imperial Palace, inspecting the monotonous explosion that caused a large quake. Thane walked into the Emperor’s old room, where he saw Tyon and Skywalker’s bodies laying close to each other. Thane knelt down and closed Tyon’s eyes. He took a look at Skywalker, and then to his men walk through the room.
“Men, here lies our fallen leader. He died for his cause, and is now one with the Force.” Thane said to his men in the room as they all saluted their fallen leader.
Within months, the Empire would slowly rebuild the carnage on Coruscant, and reunite the Galaxy with its own form of power, this time with no users of the Dark or Light running the Galaxy.
