4 E-wings, 2 Legionnaire II's and 2 Clawcraft exited hyperspace over Mandalore. they bore the markings of the Cydonian Knights. A squadron with the Army of Light.
The E-wings and Legionnaires entered the planets atmoshphere while the Clawcraft stayed in orbit, just outside the planets gravity well.
The E-wings and Legionnaires formed up and headed north to the Refinery owned by an individual named Karite.
The flight leader opened up coms and started broadcasting in the clear. "Attention, people of Mandalore, this is The Army of Light. We will be conducting your fireworks for this evening. May i draw your attention to the northern hemisphere, where a refinery has been funneling it's profits to Republic sympathizers. This will be ended today. Thank you, and good night."
With that the flight leader switched back to his squadron frequency. "Ok Halo Flight. This is Wizard. Halo 6 and 7, your up first."
The Legionnaire II's moved to the front of the formation. The refinery grew on the horizon and came within weapons range. The Missiles were the first thing to launch. 16 proton rockets streaked smoke through the air towards the refinery's south face. They followed up the missile strike but climbing a few hundred feet and strafing the refinery with their laser cannons.
The E-wings were next. 4 proton torpedoes launched from the fighters and were also followed up with a laser cannon strafing run.

The mandalorian fleet, transedant wings had dropped out of hyperespace a few hours before the rebel fleet dropped in. It moved towards the location that the speech was given from, and opened up communications out to the area. This is the mandalorian fleet, Transendant wings. Cease your hostility in this section, or we will be forced to take action. You're so called "fireworks" will hurt more people than it will help. You have been warned... As the message was finished, 5 flights of tie d/defenders, 4 ships per flight, and 3 stealthx's deployed from the ship, towards the location of the factory that was under attack.

Raid #1

The facility blew up in multiple locations destorying the building almost completely and blowing a hole straight through it. Soon the building crumbled in on itself and crushed all that was within. The alarm had just barely managed to go off before the missles impacted, but it was of little consequence. A Mandalorian fleet had tipped the Empire off and as the attack run had begun the message had been recieved by the empire but however since they had no ability to get directly involved the message was almost automatically relayed to the Empire's secret forces which were privately owned by the Empire's members. Terrorist attacks were not going to be tolerated and deadly force would respond.
At the edge of the system a small fleet that had been in the area scouting the outer rim planet by planet looking for Army of Light sympathizers and the Army of light's hideout itself received the tip off finally relayed from The Empire and jumped into hyperspace, easily coming to mandalore's gravity well and spotting the enemy, unlike the one who had tipped them off their guns were instantly set into motion.
The small fleet was made up of 3 Tartans, 3 Lancers, 20 XJ3's, 10 A-wings, 1 Warbird, 2 accompaning Raptors, and twenty TIE/D defenders. Since they had exited hyperspace just within the gravity well of the planet the Claw craft was behind most of the fleet, and as the radar kicked in two Lancers, one Tartan, 10 XJ3's and both raptors headed in pursuit locking on target and firing missles protons and concussion missles all the same.(all except the Lancers and Tartan's of course they fire their lasers one in range.)
The rest followed in pursuit down below of the fighters that had destoryed the facility. The Warbird stayed put as of yet and communicated with the mandalorain fleet. "The Empire thanks you for your assistance and urges you to remember, Overkill is never a bad thing."
The fighters snaked through the atmosphere straight towards the E-wings, and Legionnaries. Their lasers and arnment were fully arm, and of course the A-wings where pushing their engines as hard as they could to arrive first. Their deflector shields powered up to increase their speed and prepared to lock on with their concussion missle launchers as well as their lasers so they could fire once within range. The other fighters who were trying their best to keep up with the A-wings formed a pincer with eachother, while the A-wings where in a straight charge towards them, the others were arcing outwards around the enemy ships so they would be eventually surrounded, they prepared their missles and laser cannons as well.

OOC: Just so you know. That huge ass post looks very imposing when looked at from the tiny tiny screen of a Ipod Touch. i was like . And you call that a Small fleet? "Halo flight, this is Claw Flight. A fleet just arrived from hyperspace, They have Mandalorian markings. You have inbound fighters from orbit." The leader of the Clawcraft flight in orbit reported. Halo flight leader launched another proton torpedo into a large tank on the eastern side of the refinery which explode brilliantly and then collapsed. "Roger that Claw Flight." Wizard once again switched to broadcasting in the clear "Attention Mandalorian fleet and the people on the planet below. I have an appeal from the Army of Light... It is said correctly that law exists not for the Just but for the unjust, for the Just carry the law in their hearts, and do not need to call it from afar. There is no greater good than Justice, and only if law serves Justice, is it good law. It is against the Laws that allowed a planet to be raised and for a dictator to rise. Against the oppressors who have murdered hundreds if not thousands, for which there was no justice. I bow to no one and I give service only for cause. My cause is against the Empire, to bring it to justice. We welcome you to join us." With that Wizard switched back to the squadron frequency just in time to hear Claw Flight report that another fleet had entered the system. "Legs, Claws, get on out of here. We have a refinery that needs finishing." With that the Legionnaire II's broke off their current strafing run and headed for the dark side of the planet, stealth systems fully engaged. The Clawcraft in orbit bugged out as well, jumping to hyperspace. The 4 remaining E-wings fired another 4 proton torpedoes into refinery's administrative building and then did a strafing run on the shipping docks with their laser cannons. Wizard kept a keen eye on his sensors. He wasn't going to order the break until the last minute.

Mik i'm unsure if your aware of this but it is gall's post i believe, all fleet battles are done on a DM system from now on, now that all the sides have posted what they have done it's sort of his post of what happens. At the end of a turn (which is everyone posting 1 time) the DM posts what happens(gall is the DM or fleet master or whatever label you want to give him) since everyones showin up I beleive your second post does not count, and it's galls post but not 100% sure, it's his system so yeah. I just want to see how the fleet battles work. Yes i call it a small fleet cus it's only a fraction of my whole fleet, and as you know i've never read any star wars books with space battles so i only see numbers. Not sizes. XD OOC

OOC Don't know, I just know it goes turn by turn, with the DM posting after each turn. you'd still have a right to defend as far as i know, he'd probably just say something to the point of my fleet dropped in and shot missles comin at you... and that's probably about it but i donno.

OOC: All battles well be started when both parties have the opportunity to react to each other. As such Mik's second post does count.
The Clawcraft jumped to hyperspace with no loses because they were clear of the gravity. The attacking fleet did not even get a chance to fire because the need to acquire the targets and to turn to engage the enemy. Also the CHF-18B where able to sneak away from the enemy using their stealth system to make it to the other side of the planet undetected before jumping to hyperspace.
Meanwhile in the planet’s atmosphere the A-wings were gaining on the E-wings because of the increase of aerodynamic improvement by the shields and the gravitation pull of the planet. They reached firing range as the E-wings used their proton Torpedoes into the Administrative section of the Refinery. This attack caused enough damage to insure the plant was a total lost.

An FAC fell out of hyperspace at the edge of Mandalore's mass field, and the ship quickly activated her stealth fields, and left just enough to make it seem like a small transport ship. Ash was on the bridge, still discuised as Gis Hitsugaia, force alignment and all. On his back was what looked like a blowgun held by a fancy red sash with a tassle at both ends. The lower end was longer, and wieved into it were the shieths of a sword and two daggers. A single blaster pistol was on his right hip.
Open comunications to the attacking Fighters. Attention Army of Light. Would you like to have a quick way out? Consider this ship your carrier. I am Gin Hitsugaya, and if you dont believe what I am saying, then maybe i can show you I am not with the... local law. Ash pushed a button on his command chair and opened up a link with thewarbird. This is Sith Knight Ash Lightning. Do not do serious damage on the attacking FAC. If you do, you will not be happy.
Ash cut the transmission and ordered the FAC to strife the Warbird, but didn't do anything besides scratch the hull. Ash's corvettes speed would save it from most anything as she flew towards the dark side of the planet, all weapons ready to attack any fighters that were foolish enough to come close. [/sub]

the mandalorian fleets homeworld kicked up its gravity well generators, taking that more room into account, taking any escape from the e wings. The 20 tie/d defenders, opened fire upon the 4 e wings, as they attempted their straffing run. They had been aquiring locks since the initial contact, and now fired off 1 missile from each ship.

((FYI, Shields make fighters move slower in atmospheric flight. not faster.))
Upon finishing their strafing run on the admin building, Wizard ordered Halo flight to turn towards the incoming Mandalorian TIE's. They're missile launches provided an impressive display but nothing more. Halo flight fired forward, not at the incoming TIE's but at the inbound concussion missiles. The missiles directly in front of the E-wings exploded brilliantly but the rest were easily forced into overshooting by the nimble E-wings. They suffered the incoming laser bolts for the few fractions of a second they were within firing range of each other as the two groups of fighters zoomed by each other but there was no damage. At these kinds of approach speeds neither group could get, let alone sustain a laser lock.
So far, both the Mandalorians and the Imperial forces had broken a major dogfighting rule of engagement. Never attack a single enemy force with an overwhelming one of your own. Wizard expected that kind of thing from the Imperials. They're commanders were all young hand-me-downs since the older republic commanders retired their posts after the reformation of the Republic. He didn't expect it from the Mandalorians though. Even if they were abandoning their honor code today, they should have known better. "Halo's this is Wizard. The incoming Imps are flagged as enemies. The Mandalorian ships are flagged as local planetary enforcement. Don't engage the bucket heads unless they force you into something. Break."
With that, Halo flight broke up Wizard and his Wingman pulled starboard into a tight turn that would pull them back around towards the TIE defenders. The Element leader, Rubber Duck, and his wingman performed a split S which also sent them back to the TIE Defenders.
They're plan was to use the Mandalorians as cover. with only 4 of them, and twenty of the TIE Defenders, getting a missile lock would be nearly impossible and would also force the A-wings to cut their speed in order to safely engage the E-wings. The addition of 20 more Imperial fighters to the furball would only cause more confusion and a much greater chance of a midair collision.

Raid #1

Post by Zero on Aug 26, 2009 18:08:22 GMT -5
A beacon started to sound off on Ash's chair computer console, and it was just a general call to all forces to fall back to Corellia if possible. Because Ash was busy, he couldn't make it, but someone else could for him. Ash felt part of him 'wake up,' then the shadows in a corner of the bridge started to shift and rise from the ground. A near perfect copy of Ash formed there, with the exception of the clone being much paler with white hair, ruby red lips, and evil yellow eyes. It was dressed in a fully white kimono, and had a large sword on its back.
Kale, you have things to do for me. You will be my eyes and ears while I am working. C'mon, Ash, you shouldn't have released me from my prison in your mind. I wouldn't have if I knew that you would try to kill me or anyone else with the Empire. Empire? When did this happen? Only recently. Now, I know all that you do, and even what you will do. Go to Corellia and see what the hell is up there. Tell Lord Nanashi what I am doing. Kill those who you need to. Don't worry, because you are shadow nothing can happen to you, but you can only reform your body, and if you try to go somewhere else, I will just bring you back. Fine, whatever you say.
Kale turned fully black and sunk into the ground, becoming nothingness as that part of his conscienceless, the part that was Kale, started to form its clone body there as his own. Ash grinned at how perfect this shadow clone turned out to be, but the Army looked like it was needing some help, maybe, but it was time to go when a beacon started going off again. Ash quickly opened a channel with what he thought the leader of this group was.
Immobilizer 418 cruiser and Acclamator Assault ship just came out of hyperspace. Now would be a good time to run. I can tell you one thing, I don't wanna stick around when that Immobilizer nears us.
The cruiser and assault ship came out of hyperspace relatively close. Quickly, Ash sat down, closed his eyes, and started meditating, hard to do with the sounds around him, but at least he was able to form a good clone of himself on the bridge of the Immobilizer, had it activate the communication suite to everyone on an open channel, and laid out one message.
This is Sith Knight Ash Lightning. All enemy forces surrender or be destroyed. This is your only warning.
Ash let the clone fade when the channel was closed, and had the FAC go faster by dropping its shields, and transferred that power to its stealth systems. [/sub]
