Bermfad stepped into an empty dueling ring and turned to face Lana. He reached up grabbing his helmet and pulling it off his head as Lana asked if she was going to be training him. As his spikey brown hair emerged so did a smirk. His green eyes seemed to be intensely focused at the moment.
"You can say that, most trainers start off with that it means to be a Mandalorian however I want to skip that boring stuff and see if you can fight." said Bermfad tossing his helmet out of the ring that was somewhere between 10 and 15 meters in diameter. Weapon racks where along the sides of the arena and he headed to one and picked up a training sword which was in fact a vibroblade without it's powercell active so it didn't vibrate. He headed to the middle of the dueling ring.
"Don't hold back trust me, I'll know if you do. The first thing a Mandalorian should learn is to never underestimate their opponent." said Bermfad holding his blade in front of him. He wouldn't hit her since she had no armor on, but he was curious if she'd be able to land a blow on his armor.

Lana walked into the dueling ring and looked around.
"I doubt I would try to go easy on you, I don't even know if I could beat you, giving one hundred and ten percent. I just hope you don't go easy on me, I would like to see how you fight."
Lana looked behind her at the weapon rack and also picked up a training sword. She hoped she could at least make a hit on him once.
"I guess we should start our dance now"
She said griping the powerless vibroblade. She started walking towards him half way then charged, she hoped by this she could somehow land a hit if it was done fast, she swung low for his abdomen.

Bermfad's blade arced off to the side to catch Lana's blow, and the sound of steel clashing against steel rang out. Bermfad smirked his green eyes hardening as his focus narrowed out everything outside the ring. The sounds of the other people fighting began to fade from his senses, and his eyes focused on the movements of Lana's body ready to read them. His armor would slow him down but he was used to this already Lana would have to learn how to deal with it once she got her armor.
"I wouldn't dream of it, Trainee." said Bermfad flicking his wrist to send her blade out to the side and with brute force he slide forward trying to ram his shoulder into her. For training purposes he would have to hold back some of the power behind his blow for they could be devastating otherwise and sometimes kill someone flat out.

Lana ducked down as Bermfad's blade clashed with hers and and she held her sword in front of her and jumped back as he tired to ram her with his shoulder and she blocked with her sword, where if he continued his ram, she would fly backward but he would get a nice gash in his arm.
"See, I knew you were good!"
Lana took stance again and charged at him with all her speed and strength, and she jumped up to kick him in the chest.

Bermfad's shoulder ram met with nothing but air as Lana jumped back he did not pursue any further. He instead flipped his blade back into a position in front of him angled diagonally in front of him. "This isn't a time for compliments." said Bermfad just before Lana charged forward at him, and sent a jump kick at his chest.
Within his mind he was observing some of her tactics. Sending a kick to the chest against an armored opponent showed one of two things, either she was stupid or fearless. The later being the prefered of the two, and he assumed as such for now. Bermfad seeing the chance to test her grappling skills dropped his blade and his arms moved to intercept her kick and grab onto her foot which would throw most people off balance and make them fall upon the ground. He could hardly feel the impact of the blow through his armor but it had landed, but cost her, her foot.

Lana upon reaction swung her other leg over Bermfad's shoulder and grabbed hold of his head, covering his eyes and she pulled backwards, to make him fall over as well as her, where she would then catch her balance and with her foot still on his chest from him holding it she twisted around to gain her foot back and placed her sword ontop of his armor and stuck her tongue out at him. She then jumped back to give him room to get up and to get out of range when he did, so that he couldn't immediately attack her. OOC: Everything after the siting on his shoulders and pulling back, is the in the case that he doesn't counter it, of course.

Lana pressed the attack and Bermfad observed she was pretty light on her feet for acrobatics, however as they fell back and she tried to twist her leg to get out he simply let her and as she tried to stand up he spun around on the ground doing a sweep kick to her legs to knock her back down. After the leg sweep he pulled his leg in close for a low crouch keeping his hands close to him.
'She has some flexibility to her attack, so that it's not always direct. Good. Lets see what happens when the pressure is instead brought to her.' thought Bermfad as he gave her but a brief moment to stand before throwing a punch meant to knock the wind out of her.

Lana fell to the ground and as she did so threw a kick at Bermfad. She admired they way he fought her as if they were equals. Lana stood up only to find him throwing a punch. She jumped back but still caught the blow but at half the force he had originally intended. Lana fell to the ground hard and took a moment to catch her breath, then Lana got up and readied her blade. She had never been the type to think up her plans before running into action. Lana decided to take a full frontal again and charged at him, blade aimed straight for him.

Bermfad blocked Lana's kick with one of his arms that was held in close and ducked his head behind his arms so it wouldn't take much of a beating before throwing his preplanned punch, which Lana dodged backwards to lessen the blow. A clever idea, but the blow had landed on target, setting her reeling for breath. He got back into a stance as she stood, she came at him with her blade again, him having abandoned his blade earlier decided not to bother picking it up, instead he waited for the right moment as she was about to strike and then briefly side stepped and turned just enough so her blade would miss while he grabbed the blade near where she was holding it so she couldn't slash at him again.
"Good, I think I've tested your combat skills enough in the dueling ring. " said Bermfad as he let go of her blade trusting her not to press the attack. He then walked over and sat down on a bench, exaggerating a 'phew!' before turning his attention back to her. "I guess it's time for all the boring stuff. You need to know what makes a Mandalorian however, for we aren't barbarians who raid towns for nothing, we have a sort of code."
Bermfad squinted for a moment as if he was having trouble remembering for a time and then he perked up saying "Oh yeah!" He then turned his head and recited the old Mandalorian chant.
"Education and armor,
Self-defense, our tribe,
Our language, our leader—
All help us survive."
Bermfad then stood up once more crossing his arms. "These are the Six actions that a Mandalorian must never betray. If we are to gain Honor these are the rules we follow." said Bermfad, waiting to see if lana had any questions.

Lana was shocked only slightly as he side stepped and grabbed her weapon. After he had grabbed it she let it free and didn't hold on to it anymore showing him she admitted defeat. Lana followed him out of the dueling ring and stood in front of him as he told her about the rules. As he said them she felt they sounded familiar, as if something her father used to tell her as a little girl. He would tell her stories about brave warriors and soldiers going into battle, she was sure that the Madolorian code was the same as the warriors chant in the story. When their leader would chant that could the warriors would repeat it back.
"That is a nice code to live by..."
Lana said with a smile. She wondered if she was supposed to repeat it back, but she figured that she didn't since Bermfad wasn't the leader, and because at this moment he was only teaching it to her.
"So since armor is in the code it is probably bad that I don't have armor, huh? Should I go buy some..... or....?"
She looked worried and slightly had a 'sorry' look on her face.
"The truth is I never had any experience in hand-to-hand or even weapon combat, except for training of such things, but I had never been in a real fight where I needed armor. The most I have done in a "battle" is kick some Black Vulkar butts when I lived in the lower city of Taris. Anyways, I guess I'll need armor now that I joined the Mandolorians."
She said half smiling.

"The armor will come once you've proven yourself. When you gain enough honor, we'll give you armor or allow you to pick from our vast weapons depot." said Bermfad as he heard her describing her battle experience. He smirked and walked over grabbing his helmet. "Well, we're going to have to change that, go grab your weapons and meet me in that hanger over there. We are going for a road trip."
Bermfad headed for the hanger and called in a favor to borrow a Taung class cruiser. If anything it would be interesting teaching her, more about the Mandalorian way..... For now he waited for her to return.

Lana thought on proving herself. She didn't know if she could prove to be at their standards but she was willing to try. She would work hard and take on any jobs, any assignments they give her, within reason. If it were something outrageous, like say kill Emperor Cain all by herself, she would try but she would know she would fail. But just to be able to work with them and know that she is getting closer with every assignment to finding her parents. Lana ran up to the blacksmith and retrieved her weapons thanking the smith as she left, with sincere gratitude, of what she did not know fully well. She then followed after Bermfad into the hanger.
"Where are we going?"
Lana asked somewhat anxiously.

"You'll know when we get there." said Bermfad as he motioned her to follow him upon deck. Soon after they went aboard the ship it started to take off and Lana was assigned quarters somewhat near Bermfads. He however for the duration of most of the trip was on the bridge, making sure nothing went wrong with the travel through hyperspace. Everyone in awhile he'd check into the room and teach Lana a bit more about the Mandalorian's way of thinking.
