There was a great deal of conflict within Janus, it was obvious he was going to need a lot of work. The answers to all the concerns Janus had could already be found in what Cain had just told him... but he was clearly going to need to have it explained in greater detail.
As for Tai, his explanation only went further to prove Cain's point, "As I've already explained to you, Tai, you over think and underestimate. The facts that your "superior" intellect failed to compute are that I AM here, the others DID NOT fail, and that Mitsukai was already weakened. Your hesitation has only allowed your rivals to gain favor over you while you stood back and did nothing. You have anger, you have hate, but you don't use them. There is a balance to be had, you must have control over your emotions, not discard them completely."

Kayen listened to Cain quietly as he deactivated his lightsabers and returned them to his belt. He fell to his knees, breathing heavily as he took control of his emotions and he tried to rest while he had the opportunity. He was sweating as well.

"Sometimes... it is better to seal your anger and hate away.... " Tai replied looking away from the emperor.

"Ashley... you seek power and an ambition of success... you will only succeed when you are better prepared for battle then your enemies. You were easily deceived by illusions and may very well have died chasing shadows for no other reason then your ignorance. You must know your enemy and his abilities better then you know even your own if you are ever to hope to have power. Remember this before you engage any foe from this day onward."
Ashley listened as Cain spoke and she merely nodded her head as she deactivated her lightsaber and she put it on her belt.

Cain chuckled at Tai's response. The others had been silent for the most part, either not understanding or simply having nothing to add, "If you are already so sure of yourself apprentice, so certain that you already know everything, then perhaps you'd care to demonstrate your mastery to the other students?" Cain said to Tai, unclipping his lightsaber from his belt and tossing it off to the side, "Take my weapon," he said simply, "show me your mastery of your emotions and the force, take the lightsaber and I will call you master and you can go about teaching these students."

The dull sound of a saber hilt clattering to the floor caught Janus' attention. He had been absently regarding the wall opposite himself, his thoughts mulling over what the Emperor had said. Could he really offer him control over this thing? Was it possible? Those damn "doctors" on Kessel didn't seem to think so. They had tried to poison it out of him like a sickness. Day after day, it was an endless cocktail of pills, medications and other experimental "psycho-therapies", as they called them. It was his own living hell, and the demons who propagated it all had treated him like a caged animal.
Cain was the first person he had met that actually offered him an alternative, made him feel as if though there was hope for him. In some way, cruel and sadistic though he may be in his methods, the Emperor actually seemed to treat him more like a person than anyone, going so far as to label him as having "potential". That was a damn sight better than any evaluation he had been given at that facility on Kessel.
Janus couldn't help but shake his head slightly. Hope.... Such a strange feeling to be coming from one so dark and evil. But there it was. It was brutal, it was honest, and it was painful. But it was hope all the same.
Looking to the place where the noise had originated, Janus heard Cain's voice once more, goading one of his students into another confrontation.
"Show me your mastery of your emotions and the force, take the lightsaber and I will call you master and you can go about teaching these students."
This was the last place he really wanted to be at the moment. He had seen and endured enough of these Sith for one day, perhaps even a life time. Acting on an impulse, Janus stepped forward from his place at the wall, dropping to a knee and stooping his head low as he addressed Cain. "My Lord, will you be needing me any longer here?"
He swallowed hard at the end of his question. It felt like a dumb move. In the pit of his stomach, he did not expect to live more than five seconds after uttering his words. But he had to try something to get away from this madness. He needed time to process what had happened during his time here in the presence of the Dark Side.

"Patience, Janus," Cain said, his stare still not leaving Tai, "you've come so far to get here, don't tell me you've lost the stomach for it already. I'm afraid I'm going to have to insist you stay." Cain couldn't let Janus leave, he could let none of them leave until the training was complete. They would only be a liability if he were to let them wander off now, having seen what they had.

"You misunderstand me master... To fight you... would only lead to my demise... if you think me foolish enough to take your lightsaber than you dont know me at all... my lord..." Tai said bowing his head in respect "Please excuse my comment.... I was wrong to appose you..." Tai had a mouth yes but he knew his place and hew knew who not to cross lines with. He fell to his knees one leg up into his chest and one knee down and his head down with them and his hands on the ground bowing to be forgiven. He did not expect to be forgiven so easily but he was sorry and was not one to start a fight with someone hhe stood no match against especially his new master.

"Hmph! Pathetic..." Cain muttered, the force slamming down over top of Tai, pinning him to the ground with enough force to crack the floor of the meditation chamber, "That's twice your master has given you a command that you have failed to carry out," Cain then lifted Tai off the floor and tossed him back, "Now, I do hate to have to repeat myself... so this will be the last time. You, my young apprentice, are plagued by over thought. When you are instructed to do something by your master the only words that should be heard from you are 'Yes Master' which will then be followed by you doing what your master has asked. How you go about fulfilling this order, that is the time for you to show your superiority over your 'slower' rivals and make your calculations. But no matter what you get the job done, and you get it done in the most efficient manner possible. When you have the power to do so you may voice your opinions freely. Until then do not question me again."
Cain then summoned his lightsaber back to his hand, turning his attention to the rest of his students, "Now... if there is no more confusion..." Cain put the lightsaber on his belt and sat back down on the floor, closing his eyes, "All of you, sit, close your eyes... and clear your minds," Cain waited for his students to do as instructed before continuing.
Once they all had quieted their minds Cain began to project into their subconsciousness again. This time he took them all to the Sith academy on Korriban. Since his students were submitting to him now, Cain's ability to create illusions required no time to become sufficiently strong. The cold dead feel of Korriban wrapped around each of them, the academy appeared as it had almost 3,000 years ago during Cain's time there under his master. Cain stood before his students, standing behind him to his left and right were the dark lord Ajunta Pall and Cain's old master, Jack Makura.
"I have brought you here to begin your training with the force," Cain began, "Right now you are nothing. You are the lowest forms of life in the galaxy, you are unorganized grabassitic pieces of shit. But when you are finished here you will be Sith Lords. Though your title will be one hidden from the rest of the galaxy, it is a title you will need to embrace and understand fully before you are able to wield the power that comes with it."
"What is a Sith? A Sith believes in the power and importance of conflict," Ajunta said, his words followed immediately after Cains almost as if part of the same sentence. He had long scraggly black hair and tattoos covering much of his face, a double bladed war sword was sheathed at his back, "Conflict is the natural state of the galaxy. It is only through conflict that lesser organisms are able to survive, evolve, and become stronger. The avoidance of conflict, pacifist teachings will only lead to stagnation and decline."
"It is through suffering... through your pain and the pain of others that you will grow," Jack added, he had messy dark hair and wore a black jacket that did not conceal the wings at his back. He also carried a rather unremarkable looking rusted sword, "Your training will be brutal, but it is through this pain that you will advance yourself. You will have endured more then your enemy and will be stronger for it."
"Right now I hold the power of life and death over you... someday you will hold this power over another. You will devote yourself to the idea of domination," Cain said, moving his attention to Janus. Cain and Janus vanished into the shadows away from the others, emerging back on Coruscant, "Apprentice. Do you wish to know the secrets of the force, to learn the power of the dark side... the power to control that which torments you? Are you ready to feel the force?"
Meanwhile, Jack stepped forward to address the remaining three students, "The technique you will be taught here first is one over a million years old," Jack said, "A technique first used by my father... the Dark Arts. Now while the Kumori may call these "Shadow Arts", the techniques most so called Kumori practice today are watered down plagiarisms of the real thing. These Dark Arts are designed to allow you to do three things to your opponent; confuse, confound and consume. You have each been victim to this already, so they should not be unfamiliar to you. You must plague your opponents mind with what can be even simple illusions from afar. While he is lost in confusion, you can dispatch him using basic telekinetic force powers."

Kayen listened silently, taking it all in and then he nodded his head. He listened to Jack quietly from his knees. He had been resting and trying to use the force to heal his wounds; nonetheless, he had taken in everything that was said, and he was anxious to learn the Dark Arts.

Ashley listened to Cain as he spoke. She looked around at her surroundings. Ashley had heard of the Shadow Arts and she knew how to use it to a degree from what Elifain had taught her, but she did not know all the moves involved. She listened intently as Jack spoke of the Shadow Arts.

"Apprentice. Do you wish to know the secrets of the force, to learn the power of the dark side... the power to control that which torments you? Are you ready to feel the force?"
Power, control? These things had never been readily offered to him before. His life to this point had been spent, mostly, running away from the oppressive control of others. Certainly Janus had a desire to change that, to free himself from not only the hands of others, but from the brutal reign of himself. Part of him wanted to submit to whatever demand the Emperor made. Subconciously, he wanted it all. Control, power, the Dark Side of life. To hold it all in the palm of his hand semed like such a fantasy, but a fantasy that now stood a chance of becoming more than a mere wish.
Still, he battled within himself. He wanted all that Cain was offering, or at least part of him did. But he simply did not want to feel pain anymore. There had already been a great deal of that in his own life, either through his direct action or through the actions of those around him.
The agony of choice. Why couldn't these things ever be simple?
Drawing in a deep breath, Janus responded, nodding reluctantly to the Emperor's question. "Yes, my Lord. I wish to know the Dark Side. I wish to know control, power, ambition that is my own."

Tai coughed up some blood from the slam against the wall feeling even more pain from before. He found himself face down on the ground holding himself before sitting up a little trying to concentrate. He could not he had to much on his mind this time. He was in pain and could only think of what would of happened if he had grabbed the lightsaber.

Garok strode quietly through the dark halls of the former Jedi Temple. He tried to examine his surroundings, but he found that quite difficult in the dark and gloomy halls. There was only sufficient light to see in which direction he was going, and little left for seeing beyond that. He had been told that he should use his feelings to find the way. He stood still. Closing his eyes, he reached out with the force as he tried to find the way. The dark side was very strong here, and at first he was lost in the massive energy there. But after a moment he could feel distinct presences... one very large dark side aura and four smaller signatures. They were hard to distinguish from the general dark side that was in the temple, but he could after a while. They were on a level beneath him. Holding tightly to the burnt book, he searched for a short while before finding the pathway down to them. In about three minutes he found himself walking down a hall and into a large room. It had enough lighting in it so that he could make out five figures standing there. They were all motionless, eyes closed. He wasn't sure whether they were meditating or sleeping, but he approached slowly nonetheless. He stopped about ten yards away from them, book in hand. He didn't wish to barge in on them, so we waited patiently until they would notice him.

After Garok entered he was brought into the illusion as well, the room around him going dark and the light returning only for him to find himself on Korriban with the others. Jack continued where he had left off before.
"While he is lost in confusion, you can dispatch him using basic telekinetic force powers... these are illusions made real. Right now, this around you... is any of it real? If you define real as your mind's interpretations of its surroundings, then an illusion can be made very real. We will begin with the first of the three Dark Arts techniques, the shadow clone ability."
Jack then vanished, reappearing in the middle of all four students, "What is a shadow clone? A shadow clone is a combination of two advanced force powers. Mind Trick and Telekinesis. In order to understand how to make a shadow clone you will have to learn these techniques first. We will start with the mind trick. I'm going to pair each of you with one of your rival students... Tai and Kayen.... and Ashley and Garok. Focus on your partner with the force, follow the tendrils of the force that flows from these living things back to their source. You will find that you will be able to use these connections... they are a two way street, a way of both sharing and taking power from a foe or ally. For now, I simply want you to make the connection... this is what the Jedi call a 'Force Meld'."
Meanwhile, back in the meditation room Janus had given his response to Cain's offer, "Yes, my Lord. I wish to know the Dark Side. I wish to know control, power, ambition that is my own."
Cain smirked, though the darkness of the room hid his expressions from Janus, "Very good... we will begin immediately then... You remember what you felt when you fought with my clone on Korriban?" Cain asked, "Through the pain and the anger, there was something more. Remember how it felt to 'own your pain', the feelings of fear that triggered you to see events before they happened. Close your eyes, concentrate on these feelings... You may hear your 'darker half', do not be afraid or hesitant converse with it. Before anything can be conquered it must first be confronted."
