Tai listened to Cain still on his knees took out his lightsaber and used the force to slash with his lightsaber. He slashed at mid air about three time with the lightsaber the green blade glowing bright in the air. Tai stood up and brought the lightsaber back to himself and put it away.

"There would be no point in my making it impossible for you to succeed," Jack responded to Kayen's question, "The idea here is to turn you into Sith. This is the training and you're going to have to accept it. You have no other option."
Jack could only shake his head after watching the students. While Kayen and Garok had gotten the idea and had begun to hone the skills they would need to make a force blade, one could not be sure that Ashley or Tai had listened to a word that had been said or had any idea what they were doing.
Ajunta Pall, who had been silent for a long time now snickered, taking his double bladed war sword in hand, "Now it's my turn," Pall said with a sneer. Just as Janus had done before, now Ajunta, Tai and Ashley disappeared from Korriban, the darkness consuming them both. It lifted again, revealing the three were now in the Shadowlands of Kashyyyk.
"Since you two are having trouble you're going to be having a bit more in depth training with me," Ajunta said. He stood a full ten meters away from the two students as he swung his blade at them. Even though it was clearly too far away to connect a gash was still raked across the abdomens of Ashley and Tai, "Now, your turn. Try not to mess up."
Back in the academy on Korriban, Jack continued his training with Kayen and Garok, "The blade is probably the most useful way to mold the force for offense, but their are others. There is the force crush which you are probably familiar with that molds the force around an opponent and collapses it down around them. This can be attempted to crush the foe's entire body, but you will find it quicker and easier to use if you focus the crush on one area of the body. Bringing all the power into a smaller area can create a much more devastating attack."
Jack then let his lightsaber float out in front of himself again. He wrapped the force completely around the lightsaber and began to crush it. The saber heaved at first, bending slightly before suddenly crunching down once, then again and again before finally being reduced to a mass of twisted metal. Jack then summoned a second lightsaber from his jacket. He wrapped the force around only a small section in the middle of the lightsaber and then collapsed that rapidly. Almost instantly the center of the saber was crushed and the hilt broke into two pieces.
"As you can see the second approach is capable of disabling a foe much faster and requires less effort," Jack said stepping forward, "You can practice the Force Crush and the focused Force Crush on me."
In the meditation room Cain had to sit down and still his body. Maintaining two illusions at once required much more focus. Cain closed his eyes but was still able to speak to Janus, "be seated, young apprentice," He said, inviting Janus to do as the others were. He waited until Janus was seated before continuing.
"We will begin your training now," Cain said, "Clear your mind. Ignore your baser senses and stretch out with your feelings. Feel the force all around you, its energy is everywhere. It is between you and me... all around the temple... it penetrates all the beings on this planet, including us. The more you listen the more you will hear... the more you will feel. For now... just listen."

Garok noticed that two of the students had disappeared, but he paid little attention to it as he began focusing on Jack's instructions for Force Crush. After witnessing Jack's demonstration Garok could clearly see that a focused crush was more damaging more quickly, but he thought that normal crush might have its uses too. He closed his eyes as he began to draw upon the force, molding it around Jack. Then, as he had seen Jack do, he compressed it in a sphere around Jack, slowly getting smaller. He wasn't sure if Jack would simply deflect this attack or if, since he was an illusion in the first place, he might actually take the blow.
After practicing normal Force Crush a few times, he once more decided to move on because he had learned the basic principles and the rest would come with practice. He thought for a moment before focusing on Jack's right arm, more specifically his wrist. He drew upon the force and again molded it in a rough sphere-like shape, but this time making it much smaller, right around Jack's wrist. He compressed it, closing in very tightly and very quickly on Jack's wrist. Pleased with his results, he waited for Kayen to try.

Ashley felt herself being taken to another planet along with Tai. She watched as Pall threw his saber at them. She closed her eyes and thought back to what Jack said before she left Korriban.
"Some of you have already experienced this particular mold, the Force Blade. By concentrating the force along an extremely fine edge and accelerating it through an opponent, you can simulate the cutting action of a blade or lightsaber. Your concentration must be perfected in order to carry this out successfully. It is easy to lose control over the fine edge while trying to drive the force through an object. In that case you will only be able to do a partial cut and not slice clean through.”
Ashley sighed and cleared her mind. She felt the Force around her and she grabbed it and began to build the Force blade piece by piece with the help of telekinesis and pulling some objects toward her to make her Force blade. She could feel the objects coming at close range and once she did she sent the blade flying at a fast rate toward Pall, enough to reach and slash at his right arm.

Janus sat on the floor across from Cain, crossing his legs as he listened to the Emperor's instructions.
"Clear your mind. Ignore your baser senses and stretch out with your feelings. Feel the force all around you, its energy is everywhere. It is between you and me... all around the temple... it penetrates all the beings on this planet, including us. The more you listen the more you will hear... the more you will feel. For now... just listen."
He slowly closed his eyes, exhaling a deep, cleansing breath as he focused inwardly on himself for a moment, scouring his worries and apprehensions from his mind. Or at least he did his best to do so. His mind was not a silent thing at the moment, racing with all manner of questions, concerns and trepidations. He still battled within himself, uncertain he harbored the strength to weather the Emperor's tests and claim his ultimate prize of control and power. His alter ego was proving a formidable barrier to overcome on this path. It would not surrender easily to him, nor would it sit idly by and allow him to squander the opportunity they had been presented. That much had already been proven to him.
"Move beyond this...." He thought, clenching his eyes a bit more tightly than they had been. It was taking a great deal of his concentration just to silence the turbid thoughts in his own head. How was he to fair at focusing in on the Force?
Drawing in another deep breath, Janus stopped asking himself mundane questions and instead tried to sense forth with his mind.
At first, it was nothing but darkness. An inky, impenetrable blackness enveloped his senses, nearly identical to the one that he had seen prior to the illusions on the platform outside. Upon making this connection, he recoiled slightly, a deep fear calling him back away from the embrace of the Dark Side. As he did, however, something shifted in his subconscious, coming forth to him and urging him forward, denying him a retreat. It was his alter ego, standing in stubborn defiance, unwilling to let him falter. Silently, it pressed him back to the darkness, back towards the echo of power, back towards a strange sensation that was almost wholly alien to his perceptions.
Swallowing once, Janus refocuses himself, turning his senses back towards the Emperor, back towards his dark shroud and hones in on something, anything to get his mind off of the unpleasant feeling of discomfort churning in the pit of his stomach. His heart beat thumps in his ears, so he chooses that as his distraction, listening intently to it as its melodic rhythm carries his senses away into another realm of thought. One free of worry, but one populated by something else.
What was it, though? It was low at first, inaudible, but it was there, a slight pulse in the air around him alerting him to its presence. Janus focused on the feeling, drawing nearer to it, driven by an almost morbid curiosity. The pulse soon becomes a sound, low and repetitive, almost like.... Breathing? His breaths? No, these were coming from somewhere else, somewhere directly in front of him. The Emperor? It couldn't be. He wasn't that in tune with things yet? Was he?
He wanted to blurt out a question, but Cain had strictly instructed him to only listen, and so he did. Listening past the apparent breathing of the Emperor to hear another distant pulse rising up out of the darkness of his mind. Another of the students? Perhaps, it was too difficult to tell. Even his guess at the Emperor was, well.... A guess.

Being an illusion there was no need for Jack to try and deflect any of Garok's blows, instead Cain allowed Garok to see what his powers could do. The crush met with some resistance, Jack held up against it, his bones cracking as Garok applied pressure. Eventually though Jack's strength gave out and his body collapsed under the weight. Once Garok had finished Jack's bones snapped back into place and he stood back to his feet, giving his neck a crack.
The focused crush happened much faster. Before there was any hint that Garok was molding an attack the pressure slammed down on Jack's wrist shattering it. Again, afterward Jack's wrist snapped back into place.
"Well done," Jack said, his face remaining strangely expressionless despite the damage inflicted upon him. It was not only because this was an illusion but also because this was how Cain had remembered the real Jack, "The next telekinetic powers I will be showing you are basic, but essential for any Jedi or Sith. First is an upgrade on the force push... a force push basically is achieved by moving the forces energy into an object and pushing it through. There is no real molding of the force involved, just rapid movement. The energy of a force push is increased by moving it faster, but this is not the only way to increase the energy output. By molding the force's energy, concentrating it, you can unleash much more power."
Jack then raised both of his hands in front of his face, his palms facing each other about a foot apart. He began then to gather the force from all around him between his hands, making an increasingly compact ball of telekinetic energy, "As always, your concentration is key. The greater control you have the more energy you will be able to compress, and the more you compress the greater the power of the outcome, " Jack then shot his hands forward letting the ball of energy go. It exploded forward like a cannon ball blast, completely shattering not just the pillar but the wall behind it as well.
"I call this power the force cannon... for what should be obvious reasons," Jack said with a smirk, "The second power is another basic mold of telekinetic energy. It is the force barrier. Extremely useful for all manner of defense. The concept is very simple, all you must do is condense the force's energy into a sheet between you and your attacker. It is easier said than done however. The more energy you are able to condense the stronger your barrier will be, and it can take quite a bit of energy to deflect some attacks. You will want to practice this one a lot, being able to quickly call up a strong barrier in battle can be a very useful skill."
In the shadowlands Ajunta Pall had his hands full with these students. Ashley had begun to throw random objects at Ajunta and it was clear that she had not understood the concept of molding the force. In order to make it clearer Ajunta tossed his blade behind him, he wouldn't need it and even these simple misdirections were confusing his student.
Ajunta concentrated the force in front of himself to form a barrier to shield him against the objects Ashley had thrown, "There is a fundamental misunderstanding you are experiencing here, apprentice," Ajunta said. With that the force swiped across Ashley's torso ten times in less than a second, shredding her flesh much as had been done to Kayen, "I've already told Tai, I do hate to repeat myself, so please listen VERY carefully and try and understand because this is the last time you will be instructed on this. The force is everywhere. Its energy surrounds us and binds us all. When you learn to quiet your mind you can feel it, you can hear it speaking to you. Sensing this energy, being able to focus this energy and being able to manipulate it is how we use the force. When you push with the force you're not moving the object, you're moving the force around it. When you grip an object you are also moving the force around the object. Molding the force uses the same idea of moving the force's energy, just in different ways."
Ajunta then used the force to take all of Ashley's weapons away from her and toss them away into the forest, "You will not need any weapons for this, no objects of any kind. Just the force. To make a force blade you must move the force's energy that is all around you. Condense it down into an edge as thin as you can possibly make it. Once you've molded this energy you then send it forward through an object or an opponent. If you're concentration is great enough and you can hold the energy together as you force it through, then you can create a cut... which my dear, I believe you have felt up close and personal. It may take time for you to master this, but you will still have to demonstrate that you understand how to use the power at the very least before you can continue your training."
Cain was silent for a long moment as he allowed Janus to "just listen". Almost as if he could sense when Janus was ready, Cain continued speaking, "Through the force, you will experience many things... you will see the past, the future... you will feel the life around you, no doubt you have already sensed the rest of us in this room. If you are able to quiet your mind enough and learn to listen, you may even hear their thoughts. Though these thoughts are only those that are on the surface. You will also feel the power of the force, its energy which is with you always. You will find that through deep concentration you can communicate with the force, ask the force to move, and it will obey."
Cain slowly reached into his robe and removed his lightsaber. He set it upright on the floor between he and Janus, "We will start at the very bottom," Cain said, "Your task is to ask the force to move into this lightsaber and knock it over. This task may prove very difficult at first. Just remember to quiet your mind, listen and in time you will get it."

Cain's words, once seemingly unreal and outlandish in their proposals, had begun to garner some credence within the Captain's mind. This sensation that had encircled his senses and was slowly beginning to penetrate into his body, touching the very fringes of his nerves, brushing them with a feint pulse of energy. It was barley detectable to him at first, only a lingering feeling at his fingertips, traversing quickly to his wrist before evaporating into thin air.
Fleeting though the sensation was, Janus found himself hard pressed to deny its existence, however fractured his mind may be. The Emperor had opened a door for him, a door to a world he had not know until recently. It seemed like only a scarce handful of hours ago, he was but a weakened man in search of an answer, prowling through the shadows like a frightened animal, avoiding himself at ever possible turn. But that was before Cain forced him to take solace in himself, before he extended the first message of hope in his so far tormented life.
But how far did these messages go? At what point did all of this cease to be possible? He was but a mere man, a man no more connected to the Force than a rock was.... Or was he? He had felt the energy, seen the images conjured by the pure will of another, felt the impact of those images on his own living body. The Force was real, but what he doubted was his connection to it.
Janus could feel his mind begin to regress from this new place, retreating from the sensations, from the sounds. Shifting slightly, he re-oriented himself and re-focused his mind, again plunging his senses into that dark void where he felt oddly connected to other beings.
"Your task is to ask the force to move into this lightsaber and knock it over. This task may prove very difficult at first. Just remember to quiet your mind, listen and in time you will get it."
The Emperor's words echoed in his ears. But how was it possible? He had to concentrate, had to clear his mind and focus.
Exhaling another deep breath, Janus tried to envision the saber in his mind, its look, its shape, color, size. Every detail about it he tried to recall with precision until he had accomplished a crystal clear replication of the device in his head. There it was sitting alone before him, hanging, seemingly weightless in the depths of his subconscious. Every detail clear and crisp. But how does he command an inanimate object to do something without touching it. He furrows his brow in confusion, trying to imagine the saber hilt tipping.
"Focus.... Feel, don't think." His alter ego spoke up, whispering to him. "The energy you feel, it exists in you as equally as it does the air around you. Do not imagine the device bending to your will.... Feel it."
The words seemed cryptic at first, eliciting a twinge of disbelief in Janus.
"Quite your mind.... Feel, don't think." His other half said, almost as if it were able to sense his thoughts before he even knew they were there.
Taking the advice, skeptically at first, Janus honed back in on the saber, trying to sense the same energy field between himself and it that he had sensed in his fingers moments earlier. Concentrating, he imagined raising his hand from its place on his knee and reaching out to the hilt, brushing it gently on the side and toppling it to the floor. Much to his expectations however, his attempt failed to have any effect. The saber remained standing.
Almost as if it had sensed his waning faith, his alter ego again plied him forward. "Do not try to imagine it.... Project your will upon it. Feel the energy between you and it and command it."
Again Janus focused himself on the saber hilt, this time trying to feel the device without his hands, but rather with its imprint in the Force. It was hard to find at first, but there was something there. A tiny ripple in the air in front of him where the saber rested, just barley palpable to his senses, but there all the same. This time, Janus focused on the perceived energy enveloping the hilt, feeling the weight of the device in front of him before he tried to mimic the feeling in his own hand. It took a moment or two for him to accomplish it, but finally, Janus felt as if though he were holding the saber hilt in his own hand.
Moving slowly, he pressed his hand against the side of the hilt, forcing it to tip from its end and fall flat on the floor in front of him.

Kayen nodded his head as he followed with Jack, practicing the force crush and then the cannon and barrier. He wouldn't catch on as quickly as the other trainee, but Kayen would keep doing it until he had it to a satisfactory level and he would continue training himself later in private, so he would be fine in the long run. As he unleashed a large ball of energy at the pillar, Kayen asked curiously "Are you really going to let those two idiots survive this?" He was talking about Ashley and Tai. ((MERRY CHRISTMAS! )

Garok watched as he saw Jack being affected by his use of force Crush. As had been said, the concentrated force crush happened far more quickly and was far more devastating in a shorter amount of time. Garok nodded, pleased with his results. Now Jack began instructing them on a technique known apparently as 'force cannon'. It was rather interesting, and seemed to operate similarly to the focused force crush because it used the same principle; focusing an attack to a smaller area will cause far greater damage. Once Jack was done with his instruction, Garok began to practice this.
He closed his eyes again, which allowed him to focus more easily. He felt of the force in front of him and around him, drawing it into the space between his palms, which were now in a similar position to what Jack had done. Once he had gathered a sufficient amount of compressed energy, he released it, letting it fly towards the wall. Shards of stone shot outwards as a large hole was created from the impact. It was nothing like Jack had done, but it was a start. Once again Garok would need to practice this technique, like he would the others, in order to advance.
Jack then quickly explained the next technique, the force barrier. It sounded quite simple, but Jack had also informed them that it could potentially take alot of power to deflect the harder blows. Garok noted this as he tried to do mold a barrier. After several tries he had condensed a small area in front of him, and in order to see if he had really done it he reached out and very slowly placed his fist against the barrier. He could feel resistance in place, although to his eyes it was invisible. However, this action broke his concentration, and the barrier dispersed quickly, allowing his hand to pass through where it had been. Garok nodded when Jack told them that this would be a skill they should practice often. Happy with his progress, he awaited further instruction.

Ashley watched as Ajunta Pall threw his saber behind him and then concentrated on making a barrier around him to shield himself from the random objects she had thrown at him. Then the next thing she knew was feeling sharp pain swipe across her torso ten times and she groaned in pain.
“Damn it to hell,” she spat.
She healed herself up with the Force so she wouldn’t bleed all over the place. Then she listened intently as Pall spoke.
"The force is everywhere.
Before Ashley could respond, she felt her weapons being taken from her and she continued to listen as Pall spoke again of how to mold the Force.
"You will not need any weapons for this, no objects of any kind. Just the force. To make a force blade you must move the force's energy that is all around you. Condense it down into an edge as thin as you can possibly make it. Once you've molded this energy you then send it forward through an object or an opponent. If you're concentration is great enough and you can hold the energy together as you force it through, then you can create a cut... which my dear, I believe you have felt up close and personal."
Ashley closed her eyes and focused. She reached out for the Force and she could feel it all around her. She raised her left arm up and began to brace her grip on the Force, feeling it grow and then she raised her right hand up and did the same thing like she did with her left, but instead she began to bind the Force to her bidding. She shaped the Force’s energy she held in her hands and then she shaped it down into an edge and thinned it down. Then she sent it forward through Tai across his torso twice making a marked ‘X’ across his chest.
She opened her eyes and asked, “Is that something like what you want?”
(OOC: I hope it’s okay that I used Tai as target practice since he hasn’t posted in a few days. I am a slow learner ;D.)

Ajunta shot Ashley a smug sneer of satisfaction when she was finally able to mold the force, "Good. You need to learn to take your time and open your mind, apprentice," Ajunta warned, "Knowledge is a strength, not a weakness. Knowledge is what will give you the edge in battle, it is the key to your victory and you must seek it with the same voraciousness of a starving Rancor. Heed my words apprentice... you do not want to see me again..."
When Ajunta had finished the darkness consumed Ashley once more, it was becoming like an old friend. It lifted to find her back in the academy on Korriban with Kayen and Garok who were still being instructed by Jack.
"You should focus your energy on yourself, Iridonian," Jack replied to Kayen's question, "Your own skills are tired and unimpressive. Most of you students do not seem to be taking your training seriously... but I will motivate you. It is important that you ALL understand that none of you will pass this training until I am thoroughly satisfied that you have a deep and intimate knowledge of that which you are being taught..."
Jack paused, taking in a sharp breath as Cain considered how his students had done so far. Overall they were progressing unsatisfactorily slowly. Their inability to adapt, to understand the small details would almost certainly lead them to a quick and meaningless death at the hands of the Jedi. With another sigh he continued the lesson.
"Well... it appears we're finally ready to begin making use of a true shadow clone. Unfortunately for you, Apprentice Ashley, your slowness to learn has placed your skills considerably behind your peers. For your sake I hope your ability to adapt and learn has improved greatly..."
Suddenly, like a frozen breeze the air of Coruscant wrapped around the apprentices again. The illusion that had lulled each of them into a dream like state had finally lifted and they were back in the meditation chamber with Cain and Janus. Cain rose back to his feet and started out of the meditation chamber, inviting all of the apprentices to follow.
He led them all up the winding staircases of the Temple to the roof. The center spire still towered over their heads. The sprawl of the top of the Temple's ziggurat provided a great deal of room for the students to work with. A crack of lightning scorched the sky behind Cain as he lifted the hood of his dark robes off his shoulders and over his head, obscuring his face in shadows.
"Here will begin the second real test for the three of you," Cain said, referring to Ashley, Kayen and Garok. Janus would remain with Cain, only observing for now, "A test of what you've learned thus far. I am almost certain that not all of you will return from this roof. Remember what I have taught you and use it well..."
Just as Cain had finished his sentence Ryuu had made his way up the stairs and emerged from the darkness onto the Temple's roof. He had left what he had gathered on Dromund Kaas and Korriban in the temple's medical room and reported his progress to his master, kneeling down before him as he did.
"This is one of our Dark Jedi, Ryuu," Cain began, "He will be seeing to the next phase of your test. Your task... is to defeat him."
"As you wish master," Ryuu said, rising to his feet, "I will weed out the weakness from these so called Sith," Ryuu's lightsaber snapped to his hand effortlessly, almost as if it were an extention of his body. The blade ignited with a sharp crack and hiss, its blue glow illuminating Ryuu's face against the darkened sky over head. A chill wind swept over the roof top as Ryuu spun his blade calmly in long lazy arcs, his blade dancing around as if impatiently craving the blood it knew awaited it.

The Lysander-class deep space carrier exited hyperspace above Coruscant, and headed into a high orbit above the planet. Ash, who was in the lower observatory turned meditation chamber, looked down at the darkened planet. He could feel the dark force energy swell up to meet him, but it washed over him. Unlike more people, who would be drawn to the dark side when this close, he felt no pull, due, perhaps, to his own dark demon.
Commander, we are locked in orbit around the planet, and our codes have been sent to the orbiting fleet. It seems like they welcome an old pilot from the republic days. Seems like being in Reaper Squadron did you some good after all. Thank you Serena. Ready me a Dragoon. Once I'm planet-side, have it return back here. [/b] With that, Ash turned and walked out of the chamber. He was in a set of black Mandalorian armor that seemed to absorb the light. It could only be seen when Ash's black cloak wasn't on. His hair was back to its usual black, rather than the lighter color it was some days ago. His face could have been etched in stone for all the emotion that showed. A Dragoon shuttle was waiting for him in one of the hangers, hatch opened. Once Ash was in, it closed, and the shuttle took off, heading down towards the temple. It was the only logical place for Ash to go on Coruscant; Serena knew that. It was a short, uneventful trip downward, and the pilot signaled that they were in position for Ash to leave, and the hatch was opened. He jumped out, right onto the top step of the temple.[/center][/sub]

Kan landed on the planet with his ship and was eager to start of his 'adventure' as he liked to call it. he grabbed his spear and put it on his back and put the 'rod'(lightsaber) in his robes. he stepped down the stairs of the ship to sense a very dark and disturbed feeling. he felt a bit of suffering but didn't know what to think of it so he continued.
He was looking for the temple and knew he was to be trained there. he searched by trying to find a high level of power. Kan knew that if he were to be trained then he should look for those who had the strongest source of this so called 'power'.
kan came across this temple and found that alot of the suffering from before came from here. "hopefully master was right...." he muttered to himself as he stepped forward towards the temple.

Kayen followed Cain upstairs patiently waiting for him to tell them what to do. As Cain barely finished telling them to defeat Ryuu, Kayen quickly drew his double bladed lightsaber and ignited both of the yellow blades. But he had learned one thing, patience, and he quickly stepped backwards behind the other Apprentices. He kept his lightsaber in a defensive position in case he was attacked, but he was building his strength with the aid of the force [Feat: Steadfast I]. He was also using the force to see, because he was blinded in one eye from earlier.

Ashley smirked when Pall commented on her progress and she listened to the words he spoke about knowledge was a strength, not a weakness and about knowledge being the key point to a person's victory and to heed his words. She nodded her head and used the Force to quickly gather her weapons, and then she felt the darkness sweep over her which had gotten used to it and she found herself back on Korriban with the other students who were still being taught by Jack. She listened as he spoke to her she did not say anything, just merely nodded her head and then she followed the others up the stairs with Cain. She listned as he gave them their next assignment: to defeat the Dark Jedi Ryuu.
Ashley backed away from the other apprentices and she pulled out her lightsaber and ignited the blue blade. She also kept her blade in a defensive position and she knew attacking first would not be a wise thing to do. She waited for the opportune moment to attack.
