The Mandolorian Carrier exited hyperspace, slowing down to a steady cruise as it began the process of being cleared for entering the atmosphere. Arrik knew they would be cleared, however, because it was the police who had hired the mercenaries to take care of a hostage situation in one of the local theaters. The terrorist who had taken control of the building from the owners had already killed three hostages and were threatening to kill more if their demands aren't met. Arrik wasn't sure what their demands were, but it was likely that they were outrageous, and thus he and his men had been hired for the job.
After a matter of minutes they were allowed to enter the atmosphere. However, the mandolorian carrier itself only entered a low orbit. From that position the smaller transports and gunships Arrik had brought along departed the carrier set out towards the surface. These consisted of two LAAT's, packed to the brim with various soldiers. There wer also two Hawk gunships, a dynamic-class freighter and one dragoon. In the dynamic-class was Arrik himself, while the dragoon was filled with several mercs and a couple of elite infantry.
Arrik ran through the assignment once more as he always did and will do, even if the soldiers had heard it already.
"Alright, here is the recap. The local law enforcement has gotten themselves into a hostage situation with a group of radical terrorists. These terrorists have killed three hostages and have every reason to kill more unless their demands are met. These demands are at this time unknown. We will arrive at the scene where the situation will be assessed and take action accordingly."
A series of yes sir, roger that, ten-four, and the like followed as the troops acknowledged the briefing.
They soon came within eyesight of the Landing Zone. As they had been told, there was a massive roadblock encircling the area in a five mile radius. It had not been hard to see the LZ, as speeders were clearly altering their course as they approached the barriers. Arrik's team passed right by the speeders and the barriers as they began lowering their altitude in preparation to land. Once on the ground, ramps slid down and slides went back on the gunships as troops filed out and stood at the ready as Arrik walked in front of them, heading out to meet the man in charge of the situation.
A mid-aged man had heard of their arrival and was already coming to Arrik by the time they had landed. He shook hands and thanked him for coming before briefing him on the situation. Arrik nodded, although he already knew it all. After a few moments he asked the man what exactly the terrorist's demands were.
"They have extremely radical and unrealistic demands. It is impossible for them to be met, and that's all that really matters," he replied.
Arrik nodded again as he began to think. The building was several stories high, which offered a few interesting options in their course of action. The majority of the terrorists, he had been told, were on floor three with the hostages. The remaining terrorists were scattered around the building keeping an extremely tight watch inside the building, with a few watching outside. Arrik had a plan forming in his head, but it would take a few minutes to think out completely.

The building was five stories high, with the terrorists located on floor three. There were other terrorists on watch and on patrol roaming the remaining area. There was one building behind the theater that was two stories taller. The two to either side were within one story; one was one higher, the other lower. All four buildings appeared considerably small compared to the average height of other buildings in different parts of Coruscant. Arrik had examined all of the factors and decided on a plan.
"I want snipers on the roof," he said, motioning to the building tops he wanted each to be on. "The rest of you, come with me."
He was going to use stealth field generators to go around the back alley and try to breach from behind. If all went well the alarms would be disabled by his men as they entered. If they were spotted, then... that would be bad. Very bad. The key idea for this plan was to not get spotted. He and half of his men would get in position directly from behind, while the other half split into two and prepared to enter on either side. The Mercenaries and Elite troops ascended the building behind the Theater and were prepared to zip line onto the roof when necessary.
Once inside one group would locate and cut the power while the others prepared to surprise the hostage guards and secure the civilians. Cutting the power appeared to be becoming their standard procedure for taking out targets in buildings, but it had worked twice before and should work this time. After running through the procedures in his head, Arrik thought of something.
"Cancel blowing the power," he said, pointing to one of his men. "I want you to arrange for the police to shut down the power to this zone on my command."
"Yes, sir!" The soldier said, running off to do as he had been told.
In a few moments the power outage had been arranged and completely ready. The soldier had returned and regrouped. Arrik and his half were at the back, with two other groups on the sides. The mercs and elites prepared, but were not going to enter when the others did. They were the backup in case anything went wrong.
Once everyone was ready, the order was given to enter. All had already activated their stealth field generators and moved extremely slowly. Arrik's group would enter first, with the side squads waiting for his order. Arrik slowly approached the back door, knowing that there would be explosives on the other side. He creaked it open very slowly and cautiously, glancing into the next room. He could hear terrorists mumbling to each other, and although they were close they were not in the room. As he nudged it open he froze, noticing a very thin wire going horizontal from the wall to his right to the wall to the left. He didn't pause for more than a few seconds before he reacted. Reaching into his belt, he reached for the wire cutters he had grabbed when he heard that there were going to be explosives involved. After cutting the wire he slowly opened the door further, having to cut two more wires before it would open enough to enter.
Entering the dark and gloomy room, Arrik glanced around. There were three exits to the room, the one going forward leading into a long hallway which he assumed would have the elevators along it. What they needed, however, were stairs. They made sure to slowly close the door behind them as the last man entered.
"We're in." He radioed.
Suddenly the door leading off to the right began to make a slight noise as it was being opened. He and his men reacted quickly, ducking behind couches and tables to hide, even though with their stealth generators and the already present gloominess in the building it would be hard to locate them if they had been standing upright.
Two terrorists who were on patrol entered, talking to one another in a casual manner. They said nothing of importance, although that didn't matter at the moment. What did was that they were taken out - quietly. Arrik had tapped on of the other soldiers on the should as they had hid, and they both stood near the door that had just been opened. As the terrorists entered the room, two guns were lifted into the air, held there for a moment, and brought down very fast and hard. A loud 'thud' was heard before the noise of two bodies hitting the floor.
"Good work," Arrik whispered.
They dragged the bodies into the corner before they tied and gagged them. Arrik radioed the other two teams to begin entry.
"Teams two and three, you are authorized for entry. Be advised, there are explosives on the other side. Repeat, explosives on the other side. Be wary of patrols upon entry. Stealth is the objective."
"Copy that, team one," the two teams replied as quietly as possible.
As they began their entry Arrik and his men advanced into the room which the patrol had exited. There was little in the room except for a small computer, which appeared to have the readout of the building on it, as well as the sensors and explosives located throughout.
"Download those readouts and give me the exact location of those hostages." He said.
Once they had pinpointed the room on floor three, Arrik informed the snipers and they adjusted their rifles to point at or near that room. There were a few windows, and two of the snipers were able to point directly in, although the windows themselves were shaded, preventing a good line of sight. They were, however, able to use a thermal scope which revealed the hostages and several men standing up.
"Ten-four," replied Arrik when they told him this. He and his men prepared to move further in.

Arrik and his group secured the computer and brought it with them as they advanced, just in case. Arrik had downloaded the readouts and had placed them on his heads up display. It appeared that the stairs were located four rooms over from their current position. The other two teams were quite a ways away and would have a hard time reaching these stairs any time soon with the patrols. After making sure everyone was ready, with stealth fields active, Arrik motioned with his hand to advance. However, no one followed, as no one could see him. Sighing, he quietly radioed to move in.
As they cracked open the next door it stopped prematurely, bumping against something soft. Well, isn't that just dandy, Arrik thought. He had acquired some rather good reflexes during his career. Heck, he might have given a ninja a run for his money. He didn't stop opening the door; rather, he slammed it open, shoving the hostile against the wall. Arrik ducked as he went around the entryway, preparing to dodge fire if there was any. He quickly melee'd the man between the door and the wall, and when he turned around he found one hostile lying on the floor, having been stunned by his men. Arrik supposed he had been caught by surprise when the door had opened and seemingly no one came through.
"Good work men, two more down," he whispered.
All of a sudden he heard blaster shots ringing through the halls, coming from the direction of where the other two teams had met at the center of the building. Arrik knew this could prove very, very bad.
"Sir, we've been spotted, repeat, we've been spotted! Contact!" Radioed the other sqaud. Loud noises could be heard in the background, presumably gunshots.
"Looks like we'll have to speed this up!" He said, thinking, and thinking quickly.
"Sir, we've got a shot!" Yelled the snipers over the radio.
"Ready to breach, sir!" Came in the mercs and elites.
Arrik at last responded. "Cut the power! Now!"
The entire building was engulfed in darkness. The only light was the gloomy 'sunlight' that came through the heavily tinted windows.
"Elites, mercs, move in! Breach and secure the hostages! Snipers, take the shot, eliminate all of the guards!"
Arrik began running down the hall, turning off his stealth generator. His men quickly reacted and did the same, finding that Arrik had sprinted in the direction of the elevators. On the way they met two patrols who had been running towards squad two, who turned and fired upon Arrik. Arrik dove to the ground, holding down the trigger. Two of his men had been wounded, but the rest had mowed down the opposition. Leaving the medics and the men behind, Arrik continued to the elevetor, where his men scrambled into a rather large one. It dawned on them that the power was indeed off, but Arrik had known this and was already knocking out the roof of the elevator. He leaped onto the top and began scaling the rail which it rode upon. His men quickly followed.
As Arrik was scaling the shaft, the elites and mercs and ziplined across to the roof of the theater and had begun their descent. Moving quickly and quietly, they eliminated the lone patrol or two who were scrambling to the hostages or to the downstairs. After a matter of seconds they had reached the hostage room. Their only wish was that, somehow, the hostages weren't dead. The kicked open the door, seeing across the room that Arrik and his men were entering from the opposite side. All eyes went towards the bodies on the ground, rushing over to them. At first they couldn't believe they had failed, losing many lives in the process. It was then that they noticed that these bodies were those of the guards, and that all of the hostages were hiding in a closet nearby. Arrik looked towards the windows, which were all shattered to some degree.
"Good work, men," he said, breathing very heavily from the run and the scare.
"Hooah!" Came the reply.
As they untied the hostages they rejoiced that they had succeeded. However, these feelings of happiness ended quickly. Over the speakers in the building a menacing voice was heard, that of the terrorist leader.
"You are too late," he said, laughing. "My men are already arming the bomb that will destroy this building and all others on this block."

Arrik sighed for a moment, before snapping back into command mode. The hostages were currently being escorted out, most terrorists dead except those arming a bomb at an unknown location presumably within the building, and the power was out. The last point, however, was clearly an advantage. Arrik radioed to all of his men and the task force standing on the street and informed them of the situation at hand.
"I want any and all units capable of a thermal vision or any other scan that we can use to enable it immediately. You know what to look for."
"Copy that, team one."
For maximum destruction, the bomb was most likely on the bottom floor or near it. Arrik gathered his troops and began descending the elevator shaft once more, heading to the ground floor. Once on the bottom floor, however, his guess proved to be wrong, as heat signatures were shown on the opposite side of the building on the second floor. Everyone began sprinting down the gloomy halls.
Once they neared the location, they split up. Arrik and teams one through three went up the stairs, ready to breach at the top. The elites and the mercs continued on, heading for the stairs on the opposite side of the room. Once they were directly underneath the room, however, the elites stopped and located the ventilation shafts leading to the room upstairs. The mercs continued to the stairway.
Arrik and his men had gathered around the door leading into the only room in the building with power; a generator was in place. They could hear the muffled voice of men inside. The mercenaires were in place on the far side, ready to roll. The elites were somewhere in the vents, slowly ascending. Once everyone was prepared, Arrik yelled over the radio, "Go, go, go!"
Arrik kicked open the door, surprising the terrorists when seemingly no one entered due to the stealth field generators. Moments later, however, the mercenaries stomped through the opposite door in their powered suits. The mercs opened fire with repeating blasters, mowing down the terrorists who were drawing their weapons. Arrik and his men leaped for cover, not having nice power suits of their own. Once in cover they too opened fire. The two elites leaped out of the large vent on the ceiling, landing right where the terrorists leader and two men were arming what must be the bomb. Blades shimmering in the gloomy light, these three men were silenced quickly. The elites took cover at this point, summoning a technician to make his way over to them to disarm the bomb. The firefight continued, with around ten terrorists ducked behind couches and tables in the corner of the room. One of the mercenaries quickly put an end to this by lobbing a stun grenade over the table and into the cluster of people. It stunned most of them, but the rest had leaped from their cover trying to dodge it. These were quickly shot.
The technician made his way over to the bomb and quickly sliced into it. After a few moments it was defused, but afterwords he chuckled a little at how little time had been left. Arrik radioed to the police that all was clear, and now the cleanup operation of the building and the bodies was in order. Arrik and all of his men exited the building, regrouping. Arrik congratulated all of them, and then the man in charge of the police congratulated him. Arrik nodded, responding that they would do it again any time.
An hour later they were all safely back aboard the mandolorian carrier. Arrik had instructed them where to wire the funds so that he would be paid. He was tired, and it had been a stressful mission with hostages involved. However, it was over, and he was just glad to get back to the base on Tatooine for a while.
