About my past? I guess it wouldn't hurt to tell you some about my past. I was born of Corellia with the name Gray Rumo. I was a trouble maker as a kid, and even more of a pervert than I am now. Its gotten me into trouble more than once, being a womanizer and trouble maker. When I was 15, my parents were murdered I only survived by hiding. Sometimes I feel as if I should have died also. Eventually, family friends got revenge, and I left the planet a while after that, assuming the name Zero, seeing as I had nothing left anywhere. Little did I know that the man who transported me and helped me out and into the Republic was one of the owners of Cerberus Corporation. I gained ownership of the first military version of the Normandy-Class Yacht, called NormandyIn honor of the first of its kind, which has been retired. I spent 8 years in the Unknown Regions on that Lysander, and when I learned that the Republic was now the Empire, Took it for myself and here I am.
Zero stopped his eating, and stared at a point on the table, lost in thought. He never really told anyone of his past, and left out much, besides the main points, where only a couple of people knew, though they were probably all dead now. His eyes were glazed over for a moment, before he blinked a couple of times, looked up at Johana, but didn't smile. His eyes showed previously hidden sadness and seriousness, and even some painful hurt, but he turned his head before Johana could see them. He rubbed his head, blinked a couple of times, and looked back at the Captain, everything locked away again and his eyes showing humor, just not as much as before. He didn't sound as good humored, either.
There you have the story of how I came to be here. [/sub]

Johana listen to Zero and was a little shock he open up so much. When he zoned out she looked at him confused for a moment before he snapped out of it. "You okay. I told you the food was not that good and you ate a lot of it quickly." Johana said jokingly to try and change the topic sense he did not seem to like his past. She realized it wasn't the food that did it to him, but she was not going to poke around a soar spot. "Anyways. You will find a lot of the crew on our ships are ex-Republic Military like ourselves, the rest are from Federation planet. So, what was it like out on your mission. I was never a hot shot pilot, so how was flying through that asteroid field with decrease sensor output." Johana said. It was true she was never a pilot. She was always a officer on a starship and she had no desire to ever be a starfighter pilot.

The food is fine. I can eat just about anything... Just don't as about some meals I had. It would make a Wookie gag.
Zero lightened up again, and listened to what Johana had to say again. He saw shock cross her face as she registered what he said. A smile told him she was trying to make dollars out of cents, but so much was still hiding. When it came down to his mission, he let out a smile, and leaned back, hands behind his head.
The mission was simple. The sensor's weren't much of a problem if you know how to work them right. All I had to was boost all power to my sensors, and send off quick bursts, like echolocation, and focus on the fastest points, which were most likely the fighters. Its a trick we picked up in the Unknown Regions. Its not the best way to find anything, can can be dangerous, but at least its been proven to work long before this. After finding them, then it was all about situational awareness to take down the headhunters.
Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of better pilots than me out there. I actually prefer to have my feet on solid ground, but I know how to work my away around just about anything, be it flying, mechanical work, computer crap, fighting on the ground, or even being a medical officer. Nearly everyone on Paradise Lost can do whatever job the next person can do, some better than others. Piloting is a secondary skill of mine.
Zero grinned and scraped the last bits of food off his plate, and ate it, then took a sip of his ale, which remained largely untouched until now. His eyes fell on Johana again, waiting for whatever else she had to throw at him. [/sub]

The Prowler eased into the landing zone and landed on it's sturdy wing/landing gear. The hydraulics hissed as the ship came to a rest. The gangplank extended and sealed against the side hatch of the vessel while the cargo elevator descended, holding 6 marines and several large crates with nuclear warheads contained within them.
Lieutenant Ven exited the ship via side hatch and descended down to the flight deck floor to meet up with her Marines. The Marine commander saluted her and she returned it. "Lieutenant, proceed with the transfer."
The Marine Officer Saluted again. "Aye aye ma'am."
Ven returned his salute one more time and turned to go talk to the dockmaster while the marine lieutenant directed his men to begin loading the nukes off the loading elevator.

Johana looked at Zeros empty plate. "I guest being on the outer rim had its advantages. Anyways, I would not get my hopes up for to large of ground operations with the Federation. We are a peacekeeping force but we do not have the right to set foot on any planet with that governments permission. Even if the Empire attacks, we can only push them back, no invade the core." Johana said. It was easy to see she was torn by the thought. On one hand the principles of the Federation were clear that they were not to be conquering government, only one with planets which voluntarily join; however one could not win a war by simple defending one's boarders. As long as the aggressive government last, it would remain a threat.
Johana looked at Zero and a grin came over her face. "What about Zero G combat. Are you any good at that." She said with a large grin. She asked back of a rumor going around that Celestial; the former Republic Admiral, was sending her ship, MCV Nimitz to join in the Mon Calamari Defense Forces. And from a reliable source Johana knew that they had four Gamma-class Assault Shuttles full of Space Troopers stationed on the ship. The Roughnecks was what the group was called. Johana took another small bite of food and quickly washed it down with more coffee.
Meanwhile on the space station the port authority officer walked up to Van and held out a datapad. "If would sign this ma'am, it says we took position of the weapons at this time." The pad was an itemized list of all the weapons and their serial numbers. It also included the names of every person that was handling the weapons. This was standard procedure for all explosive ordinances, not just the dangerous nuclear weapons.

Ven took the datapad from the port authority officer and withdrew it's stylus. "Of coarse." She said as she signed it. She called the Marine Lieutenant over to witness the signature by putting his initials by her signature and then handed the datapad back over to the Port Authority Officer.
Now that the nuke situation was squared away, she had some modifications to oversee. the Prowlers Engineer crew was already in formation on the deck. the 3 officers, Senior Chief, 3 Chiefs, 10 Petty Officers and 20 crewmen stood rank and file in sharp precision. She'd found an utter lack of discipline among a lot of the Army of Light and now that she was in temporary command of her own ship she had decided to fix it.
She approached the group, did a quick uniform inspection and then addressed them. Informing them of the various modifications to be done, the time allotted them and the time she expected them to be finished. She was riding them hard, she knew, but that was the job of the XO and she hoped that later, when it counted, the stress would prepare them for long periods in silent running mode behind enemy lines.
The Commander in charge of the Engineering department informed her of the Engineering Sections understanding of the orders and she called a loud "Dismissed!"
The engineering crew broke up and got to work. She wanted them to get as much done as possible by themselves without the aid of the Mon Calamari dock workers, although some of the modifications she was sure would require help.

If this war is going to be won, then we cant remain passive. The Empire remains heavily on one person to lead them, and he is powerful and heavily defended, but he still remains the weak link to the war. What should be done with the Federation is split the power between a few people, and plan very carefully. If one of those parts starts to want more power over the next, then the others can remove that person from power and instate a new one to take over. We wont need to be too aggressive, unless we got some outside allies, like the Mandalorians or the Mercenaries.
Now, as for Zero-gee combat, I have some training in that. I prefer orbital drop armor in space, but the oxygen reservoir isn't the best, but it can take a lot of punishment. I currently have three men who use both drop and ki assault armor for combat, which are useful for boarding any crafts. I can fight just about anywhere, with any weapon combo. It's very useful to be ambidextrous and confuse the hell out of your opponents.
At first, it sounded like Zero was talking to Oracle herself, and not a Captain of the Federation, but that didn't mean he couldn't speak his thoughts. He took a swig of his ale, and thought back to how he fought. I loved to switch between weapons, and use two completely different ones that don't even need to be used in the same form of combat. He never got over the look of his opponents when he brought out a lightsaber and a pistol, and switched them around with a lightwhip of sword, or even a larger blaster and something else entirely. Johana looked at Zero, maybe she would not have to constantly regect him. They had idealogical difference which were pretty great. "No one person in the Federation really has more power then the other. The council members are all on equal footing no mater which world they are from and even Oracle as head of the Federation Council does not hold great power. And the Jedi are not even part of government process." Johana tried to explain that the Federation system strength was that it was very decentralized. "Even so, the Empire would have no problem going form Federation world to Federation World destroying each one that did not surrender. But we can still stand up for the ideals of the Federation and hope that others take up our place." Johana said as she stood up and got another cup of coffee. She was not sure if Zero really understood the Federation and what it stood for, but he was here now. She sat back down and pulled out a datapad. "I may be transferring you off fighters then. We should be getting a 160 Space Troopers; or so the rumors go. If that is the case we can use them to assault other criminal bases and even take part in planetary operations." She said. She slide over the datapad. It contained the specs for the Gamma-Class Assault Ship and data on the current model space trooper armor.

Zero took the datapad from Johana, thinking that he really needed to learn more about the Federation. He looked over the specs, taking in only part of what he saw and read. His mind was focusing on different things entirely.
I know that we are here to protect the people who cant stand up t the Empire, but protecting only our boarders isn't going to win anything... We need to be offensive and decisive in order to break down the Empire. It really pisses me off to think that we can be sitting sipping on coffee and ale while other people are suffering and dieing under the Empire
Zero looked down at his empty plate thinking again. His voice and eyes were hard, and he wanted to take down the Empire. Right then, he felt like he could take them on himself, but if he wasn't so limited himself, he would have already made his own strikes against the Empire. It was a rare moment where he wasn't joking or playing around.
As for being placed with the space troopers, I don't really care what you do with me. I had do damn near anything you can think of. All I know is that I want to protect those who need it, and take down the Empire.
Zero chugged his ale without a smile. His eyes scanned his glass, looking at the slight imperfection in it. [/sub]

Johana looked at Zero and shook her head. "You don't understand do you. We can not interfere with problems of a Sovereign planet with the planet wanting it. That is the core belief that people should be allowed to do as they wise. If a planet of the Empire raised its hand and said. We want to be part of the Federation. We could launch an all out attack to secure that planet in order to protect its right to choice its own government. But if were to launch an attack against the entire Empire, we would be betraying the very idealize of the Federation is built on. A government must stay true to its ideals or like a building with a poor foundation it well simple collapse." Johana said, being one of the strongest supporters of the Federation ideas. She also did not want to state it, but wars often brought more suffering then a tyrannical government may create. She took a drink of coffee. "But we are not just sitting here drinking coffee either are we. The Federation has stabilized a large portion of the outer rim. Like getting rid of those pirates. In the past they would have raided convoys and transports for years. Now it is safer for people to move goods through our space." Johana added just because she could not stand to leave the topic alone. In a way her beliefs in the Federation ideals is what made her the perfect candidate for captain of the Enterprise.

I suppose you are right. I was being too hotheaded again, but that seems just like me. I think I will leave the politics to those who know how to deal with them, and just answer the phone to whomever calls. Hopefully, it will be you.
Zero grinned and laughed, almost normal again. He was one of those people who just wanted to get into a battle and win, and win and win and win, until their opponent was defeated, and that showed by how he was making his argument. It was up to the planet to make their own choice, be it stay with the Empire or join the Federation. He could only hope that there wasn't a martial law on any planets that wanted to join up with the Federation. At least he knew that he helped people already by taking care of these pirates. Hopefully, he avenged some innocent people by doing so. [/sub]

Johana nodded. "Yes, lets leave the stuff that is out of our hands to those that can deal with it." Johana said. She could tell that Zero did not like losing and to change the topic was a way to come out without officially admitting defeat. "Anyways, do you have any other interest other then fighting. I am personally fond of target shooting, swimming, diving, coffee, and a good game of dejarik." She said changing the topic to make Zero more comfortable. She was learning a lot about Zero not only from what he said but what he was not saying. She considered it one of the best get to know her crewmember meals to date.

I like to get out on the range, pick up on pretty ladies, drop from orbit and hit a target the size of a pinhead, flying, and cruising around in wheeled vehicles, like my jeep inside of my yacht. Dejarik is fun, but I am horrible at it.
Zero grinned, and left for a second to get himself some more food and ale. Once that was done, he sat back down, and started to eat again, thinking about what else he liked. Some of those things weren't able to be mentioned, but he did think of one thing.
I also like exploring, which was great when in the Unknown Regions, otherwise, I would have lost my mind... well, more of it. I'm also a fair cook, believe it or not.
Zero laughed, and took a sip of his ale, and waited to learn more about the Captain. He took a bite of his food, and shuttered. It was extremely bitter whatever he bit into, but at least it was edible. [/sub]

Johana watched as he went to get another plate of food. The boy could sure put it away, defiantly a soldier or pilot with that apatite. She leaned back in her chair and listened to what he said. "To bad the Empire has set up a front line base on Korribon. If they were not threatening so much the Navy to do one of its other missions; exploration of outer rim and beyond." She said with a smile. Such things were put off in times were the fleet was needed closer to home, but she suspected that one day the Empire would be beaten back and they could once again start up their peaceful activities.
Johana finished her second cup of coffee and stood up. "It was nice talking to you Second Lieutenant Zero. Maybe we can do it again so other time or maybe hit the range together." Johana said politely. She did slip in the hint that he was in fact promoted before walking out. She headed to the bridge to find that nothing was really happening. She relished the moment of peace as she sat down in her command chair and thought on her conversation with Zero.

It was a pleasure talking to you, miss.
Zero stood up, took Johana's hand, and gently, kissed the top of it, before he realized that he was being promoted up from ensign. He grinned, and watched as the Captain left. When she was out of view, he pumped the air in success: he just had a complete date with the Captain. He finished his food and ale, and left for his yacht. He felt more comfortable there.
He went strait to his bed, and laid down on his back, thinking about his conversation with Johana, and about what he learned of her and the Federation. He was glad he was here. He slowly fell asleep with sweet thoughts going through his head. About the only thing that could ruin his mood was if there was an attack of some sort. [/sub]
