Summary:
When Ash Lightning was killed on Coruscant by Emperor Cain, his Ki-So-Longe Assault Armor was passed down to Akira Remo. While the armor was a strong design when it was originally created for a Ki-So-Longe, the fact that Akira Rumo was human required extensive modification. With the help of Samantha Aran and the Mandalorian Master Armorer it has become a suit of armor that the young girl can handle use.
Outer Armor:
The primary armor plates of the Ki-So-Longe assault armor are made of a new Phrik Beskar alloy known simple as Mandalorian Phrik. This blend of Phrik with Mandalorian Iron allows not only for have the same high strength to weight ratio of Mandalorian Iron, but it gains a greater ability to dispel energy through the entire plate through heat. This increases the durability of the material to take multiple hits in the same location with less damage then Phrik or Mandalorian Iron alone. Mandalorian Phrik is extremely difficult to produce and forage into large small or thin pieces, as such is used in the larger pieces of armor only. The smaller black sections of armor are made of several thin Laminanium plates stacked together with Aerogel separating them. The design was used to provide kinetic energy weapons and melee weapons by provide but pulling energy out of every layer of Laminanium plate it passes through while the Aerogel provided a light weight bonding media which can be easily compressed in order to give the Laminanium plates maximum amount of space to deform and absorb energy before reaching the next plate.
Thermal Layer:
The outer armor plating is mounted a secondary thermal layer which also serves mounts a Faraday cage. The thermal insulation protects from extreme colds of space and along with the outer armor plating can protect the person inside the armor for several hours at temperature of nearly seven hundred degree Fahrenheit. At the upper ends of these high temperature the armor quickly becomes weaken and of little protective value.
Inner Layer:
The inner layer is a black form fitting flight suit. Like with all flight suits it provided life support, protected against hostile environments, and prevented the wearer from being adversely affect from the g-force effects commonly associated with high-velocity flying.
Electronic Layer:
After a layer of electrical insulation which separates the faraday cage from the sensitive electronics. The purposes of these electronics are to run all the suits many systems. The method the suit uses to communicate with its owners is through hundreds of small sensors which are built into the electronic layers which can pick up and read the bio-electric impulse of the human nervous system. The supercomputer system built throughout the suit reads these impulses and tells the suits larger number of the suits micro-servos to move to mimic the movement of the operator. While each of these servos alone is weak, when they work together they greatly increased beyond that of human level much in the same manner as human muscles work together. Along with the components built into this layer of the suit is a stealth field generator which takes advantage sound dampening system which masks the suits from most sensors when activated. However when the stealth system is activated the shield must deactivated and only passive sensors can be used by in order to bring the power signature low enough to be cloaked by the stealth generator.
Power System:
Built into the backpack of the suit is a small fusion furnace incased in shock absorbing gel and a think Mandalorian Phrik case. The fusion reactor powers the suit systems directly and power up the emergency backup batteries which are below the reactor. The reactor itself can be removed should it be damaged and the suit can last for five hours at minimum power levels. The system vents through a set of small vents which were closed when the cloaking system was used, this limits the cloaking system to a use.
Shield:
Mounted on the chest portion of the armor is a small shield generator which would stop several hits before deactivating. The shield itself was design to take only seven or eight hits by a standard blaster rifle before it needs to deactivate because of heating issues. Once deactivated it disperse the heat through the Mandalorian Phrik chest plate of the armor and normally could be used within only two minutes. The shield itself is normally deactivated and only activated when in combat or a possible attack is detected by the suits sensors. Should the shield not be deactivated to cool down it could overheat and destroy itself.
Helmet and Sensors:
Like all Mandalorian helmets, it has rather complex HUB. The sensors which relay to the helmet include an ultrasonic mapping system, long range radar, thermal imaging, data scanner, and macrobinocular viewplate with the up to 50 times magnification. Along with these imaging systems the HUB has an IFF feature should members of the squad has transponders, wireless networking, HoloNet access, suit to orbit communication suites which can makes the suit a mobile terminal. Information that is also included in the HUB other then external information includes suit power readout, shield integrity, suit temperature and time before critical temperature is reached, weapon targeting assistance.
Strength Enhancement:
The suits micro-servos give the suit a greater increase in strength and speed. The suit increases strength of the operator to nearly five tons and allows them to move at thirty five miles per hour without any real work. The limiting nature of the power armor movement speed is the nature of the operator and their ability to react. This is often the weakness of power armor movements; the human mind can only react so fast.
