Ok I decided to post this as it seemed important to announce. Most of us know it was Zilfer who fought for the right of having black lightsabers on this site. Making this site unique despite opposition. This is no longer the case as it is now canon. It first appeared on the Force unleash but since it is a video game some were still skeptical about it. Now since its appearance on the show Star Wars Clones Wars it can no longer be denied. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUOZuWFJdx8Thank you for your time and thank you Zilfer for giving BHOD something that was lightyears ahead of Star Wars time.

it is canon because it is owned by lucasarts... i honestly thought of a black lightsaber before this site but then again, who hasn't? (also the white lightsaber with a black aura.... thought i should say that too )

well, if you consider the Clone Wars cannon.... sure, i guess. According to the list of cannon's where they measure it's importance, it's only 1 level below George Lucas' word of mouth, with is the ultimate law. So I'd say it's cannon mik.

The black lightsaber shown in Clone Wars is different then the normal one... because it is a flat blade the light admitted at the edges define them makes more sense then the round lightsaber which we use which admits only a light hue along the side you are looking at.

Not sure what you mean gall. As you've said yourself a lightsaber can be formed into almost any type of shape. So it looking like a vibroblade would be just as possible with any other lightsaber.

The point is a simple one, and it invovles the shape. A regular lightsaber is the same nomatter which directions you look at it... this is because it is a cylinder. So the color of the core should have no effect because the outer light should flood the darkness.
The Darksaber is flat blade, much like a regular sword, has different view from different angles. So the light color outlining the edges (could be caused by the containment field) would not block out the dark core of from the side.

>.> The containment field is all around it though, so even if it's flat there's still part of the containment field on the side in which your saying would cover it.

Um guys this is starting to sound like another fight. So lets hit the heart of this new debate. Does a lighsaber have to have a cylinder light beam to be a lightsaber?
Gall says yes, Zilfer says no.
(I added the poll for the new debate. Sorry if it couses any confusion.)
