you realize there's datapads like the iPhone right? small, easily carried, plugs into anything with a USB port, uses a touch screen so you can type in whatever the hell language you want to type in.
Also, several droid would not type on anything, at all, ever. They'd directly connect to the system. They laugh at your quaint typing. I don't care if you have 100 fingers, you aren't going to do several hundred thousand calculations per second.
what does the weight of the arm have to do with your smashing it into keyboards like a child with a toy piano? why make it out of mandalorian iron at all if it's so heavy it makes you want to smash electronics. Go with some light composite carbon material or something. Or just make a droid character.
and i still don't get how either a holographic or a mesh keyboard allows you to slice into any terminal anywhere. The stupid thing is attached to your hand, not the terminal your working at. How is it supposed to slice into anything if its not actually connected to what your trying to slice into.

since you brought up the iphone, I could go with a wireless connection. Also mandolorian iron is actually quite light in weight. I'm using the idea of say, a person holding a light rock in his hand, yeah it isn't heavy, but after a while, the arm will fatigue because the force of gravity is a constant, therefore the rock will get heavy. It's just basic physics.
Also I did consider an iphone type of datapad originally, but I thought "why not use the surface as an iphone screen?" since the hologram is just thin air, I came up with a mesh pad as a typing surface so if someone sneaks on me, I have several ways to defend myself, blaster, stun them if I have energy stored in my arm, or claw the hell out of them. the cables are retractable like the claws, and it's only about a six inch drop too. so the projector would project whatever language I need to type in, the "fingers" come out, type divide, ect. the the signal would go in the arm in a wireless modem, that can plug into a terminal, so if I where to hack a ship, I can plug it into a ship's main terminal and slice it from a distance, either on or off the ship in a reasonable distance, maybe a couple of parsecs away.
