There wasn’t a day where Skywise didn’t wonder just why exactly his crazy parents uprooted the family and moved them out to Coruscant. Crime was common, and Skywise fit right in. His parents, however, were another story. Surely there were better places for such peace-loving people to live…
Skywise shook the thought off, walking past a stall and quickly grabbing two different fruits, right under the owner’s nose, before walking off as though nothing at all had happened. He was growing cocky, he realized, but he felt as though he had the right. In all of his years at Coruscant, he had yet to be caught.
Taking one of the fruits—a purple thing with fuzzy spikes—Skywise tucked it away. He had promised Mistsong that he would bring him back something from the market, and he was quite sure that the boy didn’t mind one bit just exactly what it was.
Skillfully twirling his dagger in between his fingers Skywise cut it into his own fruit, wedging out a slice. Though it looked fresh, Skywise wasn’t about to just bite into it. He examined the piece, before deciding that it was, indeed, edible.
The trek home took considerably less time than Skywise had originally anticipated. For some reason, most of the pretty girls he normally saw on a daily basis were absent from the marketplace. Although there was never a shortage of beautiful women, he had been hoping to spot a few of his favorites. Well, no matter, he needed to get home and show Mistsong that he had certainly not forgotten about him.
When he got home, he found his youngest brother in his room, playing with several trinkets that he had brought him from the marketplace. “Heads up, Mistsong,” Skywise said reaching into his bag and tossing the fruit to his younger brother. Based off of the way his face lit up, it was among Mistsong’s favorites, and the boy eagerly bit into it.
Sitting down on the bed next to his younger brother, Skywise pulled out a soft cloth and began to wipe the dagger clean. It was an odd obsession of his, but it wasn’t something that he considered strange.

What Skywise didn't know was that he had been caught. As the boy pilfered the exotic fruits from the stall a pair of greedy eyes watched. Sure, it was only a minor crime, but punk needed to be taught a lesson. The arrogance in his walk, the way he even ate his spoils on his walk home, Avidan could tell this boy had little respect for the law, or more importantly, him.
Following the teenager as he walked, the uniformed man sauntered after, a few ales already flooding through his system. Now Avidan didn't have a deep respect for the law or justice himself, in the end he was a bully, and only followed this punk because he knew he could take him.
Brushing a piece of snowy white hair from his eyes Avidan watched, licking his lips as the young man entered his home. Now the fun would begin. Taking his datapad out he looked up the address, finding it owned by a Mr. Artemis Esense, father of five and husband to Anaye Esense. No real offenses, and once Corellian citizens. Glancing over the rest of the file information he growled, tucking the pad away. He'd just have to get the punk then, the rest of the family would be fine. Unless of course, they resisted...
Banging loudly on the door he shouted "Imperial Police! Open up!" He grinned. Oh yes, he did enjoy his job.

The words radiated through the humble home, and in an instant, Skywise’s eyes widened in horror. He didn’t get caught—he knew that he must not have been caught. Whatever the Imperials wanted, he knew it wasn’t him. No, all he needed to do was relax, pretend that he knew nothing, and they would be on his way.
Mistsong watched with wide eyes as his older brother adjusted his position on his bed, his hand reaching into the hidden nook between his bed and his dresser to touch the top of a standard blaster rifle, as if he knew that he needed to be wary. Mistsong stayed quiet, his gaze returning to the half-eaten fruit in his hands. Following the not-so-great example of Skywise, he, too, pretended as if nothing was wrong. Imperials had never come to the house before, and so he was sure that it would be nothing.
Artemis, too, was quite sure of this fact. The father of five opened the door, eying the Avidan. “Is there anything I can help you with, sir?” The family was an honest one—no one dedicating their lives to crime… or so he thought. Skywise was one to hide what he did at any given moment, even to his father. No one was ever aware of what Skywise did in his free time, nor did they ask.

As the relatively short man answered the door, his voice quivering. It brought a deeper grin to Avidan's face. Pushing past Artemis, he entered the home. It was cramped, yet sickeningly cozy. Beady green eyes scanned the room as he searched for his target.
"You're harbouring a fugitive Mr. Esense, and by order of the Empire I am here to arrest him." Hissed out Avidan, his eyes scanning the hovel. There was no shortage of boys in this household. Holo-photos adorned the walls, pictures flipping through nearly thousands of shots of grappling young boys and smiling parents.
"I'd like all members of the household in this room immediately. I watched the perpetraitor enter this suite, so don't try hiding them." He smiled more, his eyes flicking back to the photos. It was only then that he noticed what had been nagging him all along. A young girl appeared ever so rarely in the photos. Long straight hair. Shy smiling face. Could it be, a flicker of recognition moved through him.
"Mr. Esense. Is this your daughter?" He asked, turning about, the wicked grin only growing.

“A fugitive?” The words seemed foreign to Artemis Esense. “I assure you, sir, that no one in this house is a fugitive.” However, he wasn’t about to go against the will of Imperial police, turning around and calling out to his children. At the officer’s next question, Artemis smiled. “Yes, that’s my daughter.” He answered automatically, figuring that Avidan was making small-talk with him.
Within moments, Sunstorm and Cloudlight entered the room, followed by their mother. The three of them were just as confused as Artemis was, but none of them said a word as they lined up.
Skywise, as cocky and arrogant as he was, knew when he needed to run. As the seconds ticked by, his mind raced a million ways. He was in a dangerous situation, and the cause had to have been him. There was no reason for the Imperials to come into his home unless they were after him—he had only just gotten back, and their timing was beyond impeccable.
“Bubba?” Mistsong whispered as he watched his brother stuff the hidden rifle into a bag. Skywise put his finger to his lips, and Mistsong instantly quieted down. Skywise would play the part of a confused teenager, something that, in his opinion, he did quite well. Skywise stood up right as Mistsong swallowed the last of the purple fruit. “Bubba?” He whispered again, “Is everything okay?”
“I believe so. Don't worry, we'll be fine.” Skywise said as Mistsong grabbed onto his older brother’s hand. With his free hand, Skywise slung the bag over his shoulder, leading his younger brother down the hall at an extremely snail-like pace.

Flipping back to his datapad Avidan's eyes scanned over the information given about the Esense household. Their first born was listed as Moonfire Esense, the only girl in the litter of offspring. Turning about he pulled out the datapad, looking up over at the congregation of people. Man these people had too many kids. Glancing over the information he flipped through, searching the name, and with it came up the most recent picture of the girl taken an image from the Jedi Temple a year or so back, the girl facing off a pile of reanimated corpses, a blue saber in hand. Beneath it was a wall of information.
Name: Moonfire Esense Age: 19 Species: Human Gender: Female Alliance: Traitor to the Empire Homeworld: Corellia-> Coruscant Wanted for: Crimes against the Empire, Suspected involvement in the Death of Master Hatori Akunin, Theft of Emperor's Personal Clone, Aiding in Crimes against the Empire.
The list went on for a while, and even stated her last known whereabouts to be Coruscant itself. Oh what a lucky, lucky day.
"Well Mr. Esense, I do believe today is my lucky day." Appraising the nearly complete family Avidan grinned. The subject of his visit had shown himself, but now he had even bigger fish to fry. "Now tell me, Mr. Esense, you are well aware that your daughter is a fugitive, are you not? When was the last time you saw her?" Carefully he typed out over his datapad, signalling a small squad just east of the building to come and investigate as well.

As soon as Skywise heard the words come out of the officer’s mouth, he felt his muscles tense slightly. They were after Moonfire? She was the fugitive? He glanced over at his father, whose eyes went wide. What had Moonfire done to earn that title? Surely his sister wasn’t running around slicing heads off of random people…
“Moonfire can’t be a fugitive,” he said, the image of his daughter the same as it had been four years ago. The words didn’t seem like ones that would go together quite so easily, and he was ready to deny them until he died. “She hasn’t been home in over four years, sir. She left right after Mistsong was born…” he trailed off, his nerves getting to him.
Mistsong automatically clung to Skywise’s pants. He was just as uneasy about the man in the house as Skywise was, but he was much too nervous to say anything. Skywise, too, knew for now that it would be best to pretend as though he didn’t exist. There were no back exits to the house, the windows being much too small to escape from.
He was trapped for the moment. If there was anything he hated more, it was feeling like a cornered rat. It made him feel on edge. The only thing that allowed him to keep his sanity was the fact that he was armed. Sure, it would take a moment to reach his dagger, which was hidden under his shirt, or the rifle in his bag, but it didn’t stop him from feeling safe.

"On contrare, Mr. Esense. Moonfire is quite the wanted criminal. Here just take a look at all her offenses in the past three years." Avidan explained as his eyes wandered over family, the resemblance amongst them was rather stunning, his hands turning over the datapad to Artemis.
Carefully he examined each of the boys, one by one. "But, we'll handle that issue in a moment. I believe the criminal at hand is in this room." Stalking by his hungry gray eyes scanned each boy before settling the eldest. Skywise.
"Alright, punk. You think stealing is good? Think you're above the law? Wanna be just like big sister, huh?" He asked, grabbing Skywise by the collar and lifting him up as the doors slide upon behind him, and in shuffled a few more officers a stink of ale and sour whiskey surrounding them

Avidan’s eyes settled on him, grabbing his shirt to pull him up. Locking eyes with the officer, Skywise went over the few lines he had thought of beforehand. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said. The emotion was drained from his voice. “I’ve done nothing wrong.
Artemis was much too shocked to worry about his son, after reading the datapad that Avidan had handed to him. His daughter was a fugitive, wanted for practically everything that he couldn’t even imagine. “Stealing a clone? Wanted for murder?” Artemis’ hands trembled. “Surely this isn’t my Moonfire!” The picture attached, however, told of a different story. It was her.
Skywise noticed the soldiers shuffle in, and instantly cursed his luck. With Moonfire wanted, and Avidan convinced that he was absolutely set in breaking the law (something he honestly could care less about), his options were thinning. He needed to get away from the house, as quickly as possible.
With everything piled up against them—his crimes as well as Moonfire’s, it seemed—the Imperials would not have a single issue convincing their higher-ups that the Esense family needed to be brought under custody, or even killed.
With a free hand, Skywise grabbed his dagger, pulling it out, before he brought his knee up, ramming it forward. He was sure that, at the very least, the force of the blow would cause Avidan to release his grip, allowing him to get away from him. The other officers, however, were another story entirely… He had the power to fight past them, yes, but that was all.

Avidan couldn't hold back a smile as Artemis began to shake and tremble with the knowledge of his daughters more unsavory actions over the past few years. "Oh yes, and even more that we haven't been able to full connect to her. She and the rest of the Jedi have gone quite renegade the past few years. " He informed them, Skywise still locked in his grip.
As the squadron shuffled in behind him, Avidan motioned for them to begin questioning the other family members. "Alright boys, I want you to find out everything you can from these scum about Moonfire's whereabouts, somebody heres got to be hiding something. Resort to tort-" Though, strangely enough, Avidan found himself with a sharp stabbing pain in his side.
The shit shanked him! Throwing Skywise to the ground he clutched his side. "You little bastard! Men! These dogs are holding their tongues, traitors to the Empire the lot of them. Resisting an officers. Shoot to kill." With that, Avidan slipped his bloodied hand into holster, removing a his blaster pistol.
"Say bye bye to Mommy kiddies." He sneered before firing a single shot, right between Anaye's eyes.

Skywise couldn’t help but smirk as Avidan realized what he had done, releasing his grip and grabbing a hold of a bloodied side. What he hadn’t expected, however, was for the officer to aim his pistol at his mother and shoot.
Everyone was speechless as Anaye dropped to the floor in a lifeless heap. Skywise, though shocked, seemed to go into auto-pilot. His automatic reaction was to hand his bloodied dagger over to Mistsong to hold, ripping open his bag to pull out his own rifle. Quickly, he brought it up and shot the first officer he saw at the door, watching as he, too, fell to the ground, dead.
Mistsong hadn’t uttered a word, but cried out when Cloudlight went down, an officer seeming to find it smart to shoot him next. Skywise’s brows furrowed, his adrenaline pumping, rendering him unable to do more than avenge his little brother’s death by shooting at the man who had shot him.
The weight of Mistsong plastering him against his leg, however, brought him back down to reality. They were surrounded by men with guns, and they would all die unless he did something. Quickly, he scooped up the four year old, allowing him to cling onto him as he shot his rifle against the crowd. A few of the officers went to duck for cover, and Skywise was going to take it as his opportunity to escape. “Follow me,” he told Sunstorm, his eyes gazing over towards his dad for a moment.
He raced forward, past the small opening he had made. He heard Sunstorm’s heavy footsteps behind him, and figured that he would manage to escape with two of his brothers. At least, that’s what he thought. He heard a pistol fire, and Sunstorm’s agonized scream. He glanced behind him, watching as an officer beat him over the head with his rifle.
Surely… if he ran they would follow, right? Part of him wished to stay and fight, another told him to run, the older brother willed him to order Mistsong to run, while the protective part told him to hold onto the younger boy. The protectiveness won out, and he found himself running for not only his life, but for that of Mistsong as well. “Follow me if you can, you pigs!” He spat out, before turning on his heel and running as fast as he could.

Avidan growled angrily. Where had that insolent punk gotten a rifle?! His wound bled furiously, but the still slightly drunk man was able to ignore it. There was hell to pay for that kid. Pushing past the still in shock Artemis, he signaled to his remaining man to finish it. A single echoing pew filled the Esense home as Avidan stomped out, stepping over the body of Sunstorm after the remaining two.
Breaking out into a run, the snowy haired Captain tore down the hallway of the building, staying close on the heels of Skywise, who was greatly slowed by the extra weight of his younger brother. Firing twice with his blaster pistol, he tried to catch up.

Into the hangar, into the hangar, into the hangar… Skywise repeated to himself, not stopping his run for anything. He felt a pain graze his shoulder, and willed himself to move faster. Mistsong held on with both hands, and Skywise turned, shooting several times before he concentrated on running.
We’ve got to go to the hangar! He made a quick turn, into the hangar, and towards the Shard-Class Corvette. Quickly, he all but threw Mistsong inside, before jumping in himself. They needed to get off of Coruscant. But where would they go?
The officer, Avidan, he did say that Moonfire was with the Jedi, right? If he found the Jedi, he was sure that he would find Moonfire… He looked over at Mistsong, who looked as though he was in a daze. The young boy would be much better suited off with Moonfire; he had no business raising a child.
The ship was fast, fast enough to get them away from Coruscant. But he never left the planet after he had arrived. Would he be able to figure everything out on his own? Glancing over at Mistsong, Skywise fought the urge to sigh. He had to figure it out. There was no way around it. “Damn it, Moonfire.” He hissed in between his teeth. “This is your fault!”

Alas, Avidan was too slow for the youth. Watching as the ship took off into the sky he faintly wondered if it was worth radioing in. No, let the punk go. He learned his lesson, and hell, if he returned his face too would be plastered across the Holonet.
Turning about, he headed back to the Esense apartment. There was some cleaning up to do before he filled out his reports.
