Has anyone done a solo story about Revan exploring the unknown regions of space?

It doesn't matter what people have done in the past you can make your own solo story however you want it doesn't even have to follow cannon if it's star wars.

At the site, Revan went into the unknown regions of space to find the threat of the True sith. Eventually he came to Chinine and was trained by Alex Drake there in the ways of the Shadow Arts and Kumori. This is also where he met his cloned experiment that was named after his "real" brother that died in the mandalorain wars. (My character Zilfer is the clone of Revan) and if you want any more information then that you can PM me.

But yes do not get discouraged because someone has writen something before you, this is a place for creativity so use it.

I've been noticing some differences in the force that I'm still not familiar with after reading about them. Lemme get this straight:
The Dark Side and a sort of neutral force are capable of opening portals to some form of void?
The Force can control shadows and such?

Okay, you are refering to our own site canon abilities called the Shadow Arts. They are explained in the BHOD Archives.

The Shadow Arts

Kenshi's Chi training focused on three areas; Body, Mind and Spirit. Not until these three aspects of an individual were properly trained could one call themselves Kumori. Each area corresponded to a special technique which together were known as the "Shadow Arts", the legendary and devastating fighting style of the Kumori elite.

Power of Body: Clone

One of the three powers taught to the Kumori, the Force Clone was a complex combination of power over the force and one's own body. With intense concentration a force user could manipulate the shadows to summon up carbon copies of himself. These copies would have all the user's abilities, clothing and weapons.

When a clone would deal out damage with a weapon, it would not actually be a blade cutting the foe, but the original user’s force power. It is for this reason that clones could mimic but not actually use complex weapons like blasters and grenades. Lightsabers would maintain the properties of any other ordinary cutting or stabbing weapon.

Due to the intense amount of concentration required to keep a clone together, they were very fragile. A single blow was usually enough to break the original user’s concentration. Only the most powerful Kumori Warriors were able to create and control multiple clones all at once.

Power of Spirit: Konisou

Another of the three powers that make up the Kumori "Shadow Arts", Konisou (which translates as "Soul Transfer") was commonly referred to by outsiders as Shadow Arts due to the fact that it was the most recognizable power associated with Kumori.

Despite it's popularity however, this ability was truly unique and is what often separated the Kumori from his Jedi and Sith counter parts. By making direct physical contact with shadows the user was able to transport himself into a parallel dimension (referred to as “the void”). The user was only able to maintain existence in this dimension for very short amounts of time (2 or 3 seconds) and thus the distance they could teleport was restricted by how far they were able to travel in this time frame. Within the void, all solid objects and environments still existed as obstacles. The only difference was the lack of sentient life. This power's use in combat was masted by the Kumori Shadows.

Power of Mind: Moonlight

The last of the three techniques taught to the Kumori and collectively referred to as "The Shadow Arts", Moonlight was a devastating ability available only to the most powerful among the Kumori Sages. The power of the mind, Moonlight reaches into an opponent's subconscious pulling him into a dream world controlled completely by the Kumori user. The one stipulation of this power however was that it would only work in the light of the moon...

The power of mind was the most important aspect of a Kumori's training and the first thing he was taught to use, but ultimately it was always the most difficult to be mastered... It is rumored that there was a fourth Shadow Art, a "Power of Sight" known by only Kenshi Samasu himself. But such power was far beyond Kenshi's students and thus all knowledge of this technique has been lost...

Now it is a common mistake to believe that shadow clones are in fact made from shadows. They are in fact simple illusion created by the Force user and made real by the application of telekinesis. There is no direct manipulation of shadows, they are simple manipulations minipulations of people mind.

Now it should also be noted that the shadow arts themselves are not inhearitally light or dark. They simple design for misdirection which is the primary concept of the Kumori fighting style.

Shadow clones are only called that because most of the time people like to have the illusion have the appearance of coming up from the shadows, but theoretically it could look like anything.

It should be noted however with the power Konisu do allow you into an alternate dimension called the Void which is essentially the same as the regular universe minus sentient life. However you far you travel in the Void is how far you travel in the real world as well. The time it takes or that passes while you are in the void also passes back in the real universe. This is also the technique you need to have physical contact with shadows. (not sure if there was any further questions)
