At last, Exturien had arrived. Here, in the shadowy cover of Umbara, everything had begun for him. The Velka Knights, led by the great Drethanar, were spawned here, and Exturien had traveled here to seek solace from the rest of the universe. Here, he could reflect on his past, on what had been slowly decayed as time moved unceasingly forward. And of course, he could use the solitude to study his Holocron uninterrupted.
After nearly an hour of aimless walking, he finally reached an old, ruined temple-like edifice. Here, far from the rest of the inhabitants of the planet, the Velka Knights had first convened. The building was massive, only compounding the gut-wrenching feeling of seeing it so terribly in disrepair. It had been here that Exturien had met Ithurian for the first time...
Entering the massive temple, Exturien found his old training room. So many memories in this place... and he would forge one final piece. He took out the Holocron that had been procured from the Tomb of Tulak Horde along with his new armor. Activating it, he began his final training before he would fight Ereshkigal.

((OoC: Hm... it appears I've rather neglected Exturien...))
-----
Tulak Horde was a genius, plain and simple. His flawless methodology in describing and explaining his combat techniques was such that even the most ignorant of men would be able to understand. Demonstrations and analysis of his various attack patterns, techniques, and movements enabled Exturien to master the basics of combat very quickly.
However, an issue arose when Exturien discovered just how much Tulak Horde relied upon finesse, evasion, and dexterity. These techniques and movements were far more suited to Arashi than they were to Exturien, who had chosen the armor and sword of Defense. The Velka Knight was going to focus heavily on being able to take damage, redirect that damage, and become essentially impervious to attack.
As such, Exturien found himself merely observing much of Horde's techniques without practicing them. He began, instead, pondering on ways that he might be able to reinvent these techniques to suit his own style...

"Guh!"
Exturien panted out in pain, the likes of which he had felt many times before yet still somehow was far from accustomed to. Crumbling to his knees, his elephantine frame heaved up and down has he wrestled in the air his lungs so yearned for. Casting a glance down at his right arm, Exturien's eyes widened at the sight. His flesh, which had been scorched to the extent that the entire appendage shook of its own accord, was re-engulfed in the cool steel that composed his old leader's forsaken armor. These were the results of his recent training efforts.
One of the major faults of the Valkyrie Knights, especially at higher tiers, was the self-damaging tendencies of the techniques used. Unpracticed users would be at risk of injuring not only the enemy, but themselves as well. As Exturien had always relied upon his old Vibrosword, his skills with the reclaimed armor of Drethanar and its tempestuous energies were only barely developed. Nonetheless, Tulak Horde's style was not of compatible nature with his own, and so he was left with no choice but to develop his only remaining option. Thus, he had been enduring voluminous amounts of pain and damage to his body, most notably his arm, while he worked on developing a high level technique that would be reliable in the dangerous situations that he would definitely encounter when facing down Ereshkigal.
Proceeding to lift himself up in a dilatory manner, he came upon the realization that he had reached his limits for the day. The best course of action would be to rest. But as he reflected on how far he had managed to come with developing a Defense-oriented approach using Tulak Horde's methodology, he began to realize that his time for training was nearing its end. It was time for action, time to seek out Ereshkigal and engage in that battle which would decide everything. It was time for revenge...
