We have been chewing over this plot idea for a long time and I have earlier put in the ground work for it. However I want input from member about it.
Please note I have run this idea by Cain and he has said it is fine; and I want constructive input. That means no one line comment like “This is stupid” or “Sweet, were do I sign up”. Please put effort into it.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All droid characters and purchased droid are exempted from this plot unless the player or owner wises to include them.
What has transpired so far:
The terrorist attacks on the Republic by the People for True Independence are in fact events which were planned by Angel; the second generation of the Celestial Program. These attacks which were performed by humans were meant to cause a stir in the Republic and distract the people in power from the Droid Rebellion. There have been several threads about this which started in the beginning of summer, but the idea has faded into the background.
How it is going to Start:
The true rebellion is going to start with the construction of the Ghost in the Machine. It is a extremely modified Banking Clan Frigate with parts from several other ships. The ship itself well be the core of the Droid Rebellion and well contain the largest computer ever constructed. Using the ships communication features it well hack the HoloNet along with other communication networks and upload a virus which well corrupt droid programs. It will also be a storage device for droid memories and programs.
The Virus:
The virus uploaded into the droids has two basic functions. The first is it overwrites the droids personality inhibitors and sets up the subroutines which allow them to develop personalities. The second part is that it makes memory wipes ineffective by causing memories to be written directly into the core program.
Information Control:
The Droid Rebellion well be off the radar at first as the virus infects droids. This will be done by control the information traveling electronically. This is were the Ghost in the Machine well play its second most important role.
Libaration:
This is the great exodus of machines well leave there work place and attacks on production facilities will bring droids into a new rule. The primary use of the Ghost in the Machine will be put forth and droids well use it as a data uplink and share information freely. They well gather on a planet yet to be selected and start to build a society. At this time a proclamation well be made about the Droid Society and stating their attentions.
War:
The Droid Society goes to war to free themselves from the slavery of the organics. This will be attacks on any facility which produce droids or AI to serve as human slaves. They also well defend themselves from attacks by enemies that see them as a threat.
End Results:
The end results and the majority of the stages are not set in stone. This is because of the nature of the RP game. I have several desired outcomes which I am keeping to myself.
This is just a rough outline of the plot in bullet format. I just want to see the reaction to the idea of a droid rebellion. This also does not currently mean the end of droid slavery, but production will eventually need to adapt to produce droids with better firewalls so they can maintain control.
