well i think it was elifain suggest something about faction leaders paying people based on something else, unless i misunderstood him.
But lets say that all of a sudden say that Celestial challenges Mandalore and kills him and she becomes the new Mandalore. Then the mandalorian fleet would stay with the mandalorians, not with you.
I'm just using it as an example since you did pay for all those ships yourself, but you bought them for the faction.

the problem with that i bought them myself, and not with faction money every faction has started off with. Gall and Cain used an imaginary 1 million i paid straight from my pocket. XD
Second, if they stay with Cele it's not a faction any more unless Gall decides to make it his primary faction.
For example if Jor channelenges Mandalore and kills him, he cannot get the faction units because your not an Admin so you can't run the faction and it's units.

It's just an example Z. If it makes you feel better you can take the names out.
Admin A runs a faction and uses his personal money to buy a fleet for his faction. Admin B takes over Admin A's faction but the ships Admin A bought stay with the faction and therefore are controlled by Admin B.

I understand your example but what you dont seem to be getting is the other Admin's already have a faction so they can't take on two. Admin B needs to give up one, if he decides to take a new one then he'll have to confer with the admin of the faction he just beat and if they both agree then sure, but it wont work that way Mik.

your way over thinking it. It was just an example to demonstrate a single rule in that outline i posted. Its got nothing to do with any of the factions or admins we have now. It's just a rule, and i felt the need to provide an example for it.
So since please direct your attention to the idea itself and comment on that.

For members, if you donate a ship to the fleet, then it becomes part of the fleet. If you wish to create your own fleet and simply ally your fleet with a faction, then you can keep the fleet. For Admins if you buy ships to use for your faction they are part of the factions fleet and thus would have to be handed over if you should ever be supplanted. Hopefully that solves that.

all shop/planet ownership is abolished.
everyone can only purchase one capitol sized ship per character.
faction pay system remains unchanged.
Additional credits are earned through your post count.
what say you all? Yay or Nay?

I'd like to add a bit to that actually and follow up on the suggestion that maybe the fleets that factions have as defaults would depend on the amount of members. I think that is actually a good idea. Like perhaps 10,000 or 100,000 in funds per member as apposed the the flat 1 million.

i didn't realize there was a flat one million. i thought that was only done for the empire and Zilfer and odan bought all theirs with their own money.
but i see nothing wrong with that. Will it be a weekly thing? Like the faction gets 10,000 every so often for each member it has? or is that just the maximum number of credtis a factions fleet can be worth?
so for instance. The Union comes back with me and drake as members at first. The union just gets 20,000 credits to buy ships (10,000 per member). do we get 20,000 credits every so often to buy ships with it, or is that just the measure for the maximum number of ships we can have?
I'd rather have some kind of unit cap for a faction. like for every member the faction can have 2 capitol sized ships. or something like that.

This would be a cap, but in terms of credits, not ships. The faction would receive 10,000 per member. And that would be it. They would not receive more credits every week. Instead everytime a new member joins up the "value" of the faction would go up. For example: 1 member would be 10,000. 4 = 40,000. 100 = 1,000,000. etc....
Now if members quit, go inactive, or defect the faction won't lose value. Instead they would stay at their current level but would not increase until the lost members were replaced. Example: You have 5 members and are worth 50,000. 2 leave, the faction is still at 50,000. It will not increase again until you have 6 members when it will go up to 60,000.

so these aren't real credits we're talking about. thats just the total number of credits that can be spent on ships/troops/droids for that faction.

Yes and no. This is the total amount that can be spent by the admin, but you can also have a private member ally their fleet with a faction and add to it which would be outside of the cap.

But if each individual member is only allowed one Capitol ship, they won't have a "fleet" to align with the Faction. They have their ship and whatever support vessels that can go with it.
