Just like in KOTOR 2 and 1 if you count turning into a force using after reaching the enclave. Prestige classes would be triggered after reaching level 15. Your character is granted an additional level, Skill points, And a new feat, rather or not said feet is class related or not depends on if the Admins are willing to A accept the idea, And B want to think up three to six new feats.
Example: Character A, Bob for the sake of the show, Is level 14 and needs only a few more points to reach the next stepping stone. He earns them in whatever why he does and promotes to 15. He is awarded the ten points for this level and then to his delight he upgrades via Fire emblem shining light to one of the to six classes.
Depending on weather not not he is a force user will change his options. Force users will have the somewhat obvious choices of: Jedi weapon master/Sith Marauder/Weapon master? (For those who are neutral.) Jedi Watchman/Sith Assassin/custodian? (Again for the neutral person.) Or Jedi master/Sith Lord/Force Mastery?
And of course for those non-force users there would need to be Prestige classes out there for them, They would be something like... For the Solder class: Warrior/Dark knight? For the Bounty Hunter class: Seeker/Stalker? For the Smuggler class: Rogue/Contraband? Of course the titles could be changed that's just what i could come up with. Earning one of these would bestowal the same benefits as with the force user prestige classes, New feat, ten points, and of course the new level.
I would like to see what the admins think of the idea, I have some answers for a few of the questions i'm expecting but certainly not everything that's why its open to suggestions and the like. lets Begin now shall we?

What's wrong with the KOTOR games?? And by "Lost interest." Does that mean you just stopped reading that very moment, Which was the beginning, Or just started pre-judging it from that line?

oh come on mik, give him a chance. if you dont like KOTOR, what about D&D which is where prestige classes originated from, Heck! Without dnd, RP forums wouldnt even exist! So, please, honor the geek revolution that is gaming and analyze rag's idea.

We already did this before in our old system. All it does is further the gap between the haves and the have nots on the forum. A gap that already is a gaping maw as it is.

then limit our characters so that we are equally have/have not people. for example:
elifain (spellsword prestige class) becomes good at everything but not great at any specific thing. also: can reduce opponents weakest/strongest ability by 1/3
MikDaTv (Commander of the Gods...trying to persuade...hope it works) is great at one thing but lacks in others also: gets 5% more money after every profitable opportunity.

MikDaTv (Commander of the Gods...trying to persuade...hope it works) is great at one thing but lacks in others also: gets 5% more money after every profitable opportunity. stating the obvious isn't going to persuade me of anything. and Jor is already great at one thing and lacking pretty severely in others. Thats how i wrote his character.

Fine, You win. But at least take this idea seriously. I've seen many versions of prestige classes and no matter what, the people that put them into a game pretty much always make them work. They were a good idea from the beginning. Why not have them now?
And like I said, if the have's are more powerful than the have not's, tone down the abilities and such......*like what all admins should do (cough)*...that way the system is more balanced and there wouldnt be any one person that is more powerful than another person at their own lvl.

Fine, You win. But at least take this idea seriously. I've seen many versions of prestige classes and no matter what, the people that put them into a game pretty much always make them work. Those are video games, this is a role play. If your opponents were hordes of CPU controlled bad guys who gradually became tougher as you progressed through the story then yeah, a Prestige class would be great. But that isn't the case, is it? They were a good idea from the beginning. Why not have them now? And where exactly did you pull this factoid from? One, they were a terrible idea. And two, you weren't even here in the beginning. And like I said, if the have's are more powerful than the have not's, tone down the abilities and such......*like what all admins should do (cough)*...that way the system is more balanced and there wouldnt be any one person that is more powerful than another person at their own lvl. I'm working on fixing this problem now, but prestige classes are not the solution. If anything they would only add to the problem.

ok, for the whole beginning thing, I meant that prestige classes are in most games and have been a good idea since the beginning of those games that used them.
two, sorry, i've been hearing stuff from elifain but i haven't seen anything on the site that is clarifying anything. Again, sorry for my ignorance. I'm just going off of what the site tells me. I don't talk to you guys as often as elifain or zilfer does and they don't often give me the best answers besides "I think" answers. (sorry, guys, no offense)

Alright i see a lot of debating going on and since i brought up this idea i need to say a few things before it continues. First I thought a Prestige class idea was an all new concept that when in use people would think. "Wow that Rag is a genius." However if this as been used before, And certainly Cain and at least a few of the other members on site, were around for it and if he says it didn't work then i'll take that, I wasn't around for the first system or second even but i have heard numerous things about how overpowered it made certain aspects and characters.
So ultimately if you want to continue the fight for the idea, Kyllian that's fine, But if Cain says its been used before and only opened the gap of overpowered-ness then i'll leave it be...That is all.
